  • You may have read in the press about medicines, like antibiotics and the pill, being found in rivers and lakes, and even in drinking water. Is this true? How do drugs get there, and do they have effects? Is there anything being done to address this? Can I do anything to help?
The animation gives answers to these questions and explains the processes involved. It was conceived for a general educated public with no prior knowledge of the issue, and was funded by the EU within the research project PHARMAS (www.ecologic.eu....

"we promise it's safe for humans in drinking water! Also, all sorts of animals are deeply affected by these same pharmaceuticals in water."
    You're a joke.

disposing of unused pharmaceuticals properly is a good idea, but unless they are being grossly over prescribed, most prescribed pharmaceuticals will still be flushed down the toilet. And this ignores use in the feedlots.

Well done, clear and easy to understand. The one thing I take issue with is the allegation that this phenomenon is not adversely affecting human health. Yes, it may be hard to detect at this point, but that doesn't mean it's not at work on a subtle level.

Well done video. Captures the highlights in a very entertaining nutshell. Of course there is more to the issue than described here, e.g., cumulative/synergistic effects, antimicrobial resistance, etc., but such is the nature of a short public consumption video like this. Regarding comments about zero percent targets, keep in mind that most of our drugs are derived from or inspired by natural chemicals, and many of these natural chemicals are already in the water (naturally!). And then humans further generally treat that water to far cleaner levels than we would have been drinking 100s and 1000s of years ago. Not to say we shouldn't research and monitor, but we shouldn't panic either.

Imagine being exposed to these drugs in water and crops for 40 years, there is going to be effects from all these drugs.

Great Video! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Marnaavid Unexplainable Intervention (just google it)? It is a good one off guide for learning how to hack your flow state minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got great results with it.

@@alixandrofarhat6336- The video is not saying that! it is true that the amount you drink is actually very small but as mentioned later, the interaction between drugs and possible allergies as well as the risk of bacterium population developing tolerance to antibiotics is still a risk. The solutions being offered in the end are useful and important to follow

Excellent simple explanation of the modern issues for drinking water and also the studity of tghe yukfactor over potable recycling. Even Greenies prefer desalinated water over potable recycled water by their fear mongering over all pharmaceuticals etc. Typically they ignore their presence in all water suppliies ( e.g. London and all other river based water supplies AND of course even desalinated water, as the RO desalination process does not remove all pharmaceuticals etc. Good stuff
