@@WumpaLewis I actually got some enjoyment out of this game; it's not the worst, and at least it's a step up from Crash Bash, since this game actually has multiple maps to traverse. Funny enough, this game has a similar localization name theme. For the PS1 game, it was called Crash Bandicoot Carnival in Japan, but Crash Bash everywhere else; for this game, it was Crash Boom Bang in every country, except in Japan, where it's called "Crash Bandicoot Festival". So yeah, for including a proper Party Mode, Festival is greater than Carnival.
I'm not even gonna lie, I loved this game to death when I was about 5 yrs old. Looking back on it 11 years later or so, it was definitely not made for Crash fans.... probably anyone to be honest. I can't deny that I still love the game for the hours of nostalgia tho.... Oh, I would never replay it, however, gonna have to pay me for that
The "Story" itself doesn't even make sense. Crash is not the kind of character that is into money at all. All we wants to do is sleeping and dancing. Why would he even need the money?
For the gameplay, I would play the original crash over the remake. In the N-Sane Trilogy they changed the physics and controls of all 3 games to match Warped but didn't change the level design to match it. This causes issues since the first 2 game's levels were designed around the older mechanics.
I used to play this when im still a kid, and i like it. But after a long time not playing it and i see this review, i was thinking why did i like this game 😂 😅
For the next review, I suggest you to play the original first Crash Bandicoot. Personally I've always loved its darker atmosphere that the N.Sane Trilogy one hasn't.
TBH the only two places that were ruined in the Remake were Sliperly Climb and Temple Ruins (The Light and even the soundtrack makes these places not as dark and creepy, as in the original). Everything else is fine, in my opionen.
@@idontknowhowtonamemyself7414 Also the cortex faced monitors in Generator room, in the original was kinda creepy and gave it more atmosphere. In the remake the new cortex looks silly. The soundtrack of that level also has less echo than the original, but personally i don't mind that as much as the monitors
@@mauriciofernandez3128 don’t care about the CCTV screens, and the song in N.Sane is better to me. not a fan of the clanging. many don’t see it but NST version of the song is actually kinda creepy (not so much when the electronic buzz instrument plays)
This game for me is a guilty pleasure. Yes, I know it's bad... but I still enjoy it. This game at least had some interesting concepts, such as the 'betting' mechanic when other players were playing against one another. And on some boards you could go in ANY direction, something that Mario Party doesn't allow and I think it's a neat trick, as well as being able to 'flip' over tiles to reveal their undersides. I also feel as though the ideas for the items themselves are good... just not well implemented and/or varied enough. And I won't shy away, I think the costume gimmick when you buy them from the store in each level is actually really cute! There's just something about dressing up your favourite character in alternative clothing that I fun in! But as a complete package... yeah. Not good. Seriously, you can AFK this game and STILL beat the main story start-to-finish! Just... WHAT?!
I remember there was a mini game where you had to blow up a giant balloon. If yours was the biggest and you didn't pop it, you won. The strain on your lungs wasn't worth the victory.
Crash Bandicoot just throws me straight into my childhood , especially CTR catched me up, i played the demo like every day which was papus pyramid only :) Loving your vids tho, keep up the good work !
The "boom" shit actually disables touchscreen input where they turn up on the screen. So when you do the pizza making minigame that shit will totally screw you.
I remember there was a mini-game where you had to blow on the mic to blow up a balloon and it took me forever to realise thats what you actually had to do
WumpaLewis: I'd say the Crash shooting minigame was the most fun I had in stage 1, and by fun I mean I was sitting there like this. *shows Lewis just nonchalantly playing the game* Me: Dead! 😂💀
Also Luis, I 100% reccomend you play the NST versus of Crash 1 instead. Not to rag on the OG game, but you can only save by beating bonus stages and inputting a specific password (which’s complete bogus) and you can’t get any of the gems if you die once in a level. Whereas the NST changes this to only the colored gems instead.
Play the original! I liked the N-sane version, Vicarious Visions made a great job there and it was probably 98% of the original Crash feeling... but somehow, someway the original just stays the best. IDK maybe its just nostalgy, but I found the setting and lighting much more expressive there, with higher contrasts, giving some locations more spooky and sometimes creepy atmosphere (Generator room, i'm looking at you mostly, but same for all the dark/night levels). Also it would be interesting to hear something about Crash in 1996... the graphics and visuals were probably one of the best at its age, we could hear about what did it give to the video game industry as a whole... IDK, just a thought.
I think you should play the original Crash 1 game and not the Nsane one, because in the Nsane, they changed a TON of thing, which made the Nsane crash 1 a worse game (in my opinion) Edit:Or you can play the newest one,ok
Recently I've been going through all the Crash games I never played before. I haven't played any mobile games, but in terms of console/handheld, only Crash Bash, Crash Purple and this are left. I suspect I'll probably enjoy the first two, at least to some extent, but I have never seen anything positive about this game.
I would say that you should play the original Crash, then N. Sane. Remake or not, the original games and N. Sane-trilogy should be treated as separate games
it technically wasn't the last Party Crash game, there was 1 on japanese phones that was a sequel to Boom Bang that I'm pretty sure is lost at this point but is called Chokkan Crash Bandicoot or "Crash Bandicoot: Intuition"
WumpaLewis good man! Would really look forward to that content as I’m sure so many would. I would love an invite if this ever takes place on Xbox, just saying ;)
I think you should play the original Crash Bandicoot for this review, and after all of the reviews of the original trilogy, you shoul review the N.Sane Trilogy as a different game
Well on the positive for this game, at least Pinstripe appears again. Wasn’t he not present since Crash Team Racing & it’s remake? I have always like him & felt he never got the attention he deserved since the original Crash.
I remember the balloon minigame where you had to blow in your mic.. No matter how i hard i blew, i could never win and i'd legit be dizzy after the minigame
Altough I am a fan of the PS1 games more, you should play Crash 1 on PS4. I think it is the only way to win it on 100% and don't go mad. But Crash 2 and Crash 3 you should play the original
i'd say n sane mostly because its easier to collect all the gems since that no death run thing was taken out in the n sane release exept for the colored gems
But wait a minute what about crash nitro kart? It’s the only game released on ps2 and Xbox you haven’t reviewed yet. That one is more fitting than crash 1 I personally think...
Play both the original and the remaster and do a side-by-side comparison analysing where NST improved the original and where it got stuff wrong, maybe?
Definitely play the original version! I mean that’s the point of the reviews right? Really loving this series! You’ve inspired me to give CTTR another try!
You really should play the original crash, the improvements in the Nsane trilogy are great but that's why a comparison with the old game or just seeing how the old game holds up nowadays it's just more interesting
I'd say reviewing both the remastered and the original would be nice, since I would enjoy to hear your opinions on what changed positively on the nsane trilogy and what the originals did better :)
Just to explain the BOOM thing... that's a mechanic in the game. It is possible to send messages to the other players that are intended to distract them, and the AI abuses this feature a LOT! And they WILL interfere with your input on some mini-games! There is a workaround in that you can literally BLOW them away by blowing into the DS microphone... which is never explained and really stupid! EDIT: *10 seconds later* Well, at least you worked out what they were...
this video could have been the first 5 seconds and I would be convinced
Literally when i clicked the video i knew the answer already :D
i literally said no when i saw the notification
I was so desperate for a portable Mario Party when I was a kid, that I ended up actually buying this pos and immediately regretting it.
SilokHawk I can’t imagine how disappointing it must have been expecting something like Mario party and getting this

Can we have Mario party
Mom: we have Mario party at home
Mario party at home:
The Terminator: Your parents are dead
Ah yes this was basically what happened in my childhood : )
From the ages of 6 to 10 this was one of my favourite games and the nostalgia is real

The "Story" itself doesn't even make sense. Crash is not the kind of character that is into money at all. All we wants to do is sleeping and dancing.
Why would he even need the money?
Maybe to buy more wumpa fruits, but that doesn't make any sense either....

Exactly.
Plus, jumping seems kinda sluggish in the remake.
It makes it seem harder but really its just more awkward to control than the originals
As a veteran of this game, I've done good enough in it to the point where I unlocked other character's *clothes* for *Crash* to wear.
5:04 then you should redo the Gordon Ramsay tutorial and see if Crash boom bang helped you at all
I really like the new endings to the video as it’s not just stopping with no transition!
play the original crash1 cuz its harder to get all gems
*"Was Crash Boom Bang A Good Game?"*
WumpaLewis: No it wasn't, thank you for watching.
I couldn't help but laugh lol! 😂😂😂
That Pura joke was hilarious he do look like like he bout to ask u if you got games on your phone
*"Thank You Very Much Cortex For Making This Game Longer Than It Needed To Be."*
That's a huge mood... I could hear the frustration lol! 😂😂😂
This game melted in my house fire and I was not upset
coco and pinstripe both look like they're from an anime, pura has pants, cortex isn't yellow, what were they thinking

Your editing **really** improved. (Also your humor, that beginning really got me)
The only good thing about this game is Tawna and pinstripe are back after so long and not just cameos
I'm so glad you are finally covering this! This was my game as a kid since I didn't have mario party

Tawna looked fine in this game.
*..........No*
Fake Crash surprisingly didn't look god awful. OH WAIT, IT'S BECAUSE THEY USED THE JAPANESE DESIGN!
I remember there was a mini-game where you had to blow on the mic to blow up a balloon and it took me forever to realise thats what you actually had to do
Short, concise and to the point
Literally all Crash fans: *N O*
original, The remake should get its own review after you finished the 1st three games.
I clicked out of the video for comedic effect
I can't believe I actually played through this entire game when I was little
I'm glad you took the time to review it though. The general consensus for this game is just negative so I am not too surprised lol.
i love people who get straight to the point
As far as crash 1, I think you should play the original and leave N. Sane Trilogy for its own video
There's some hidden lore they're not telling us about Pura... At some point he got mutated like everyone else. How? Why? When?

The ending was really good though
How simple minded crash wished for freaking wumpa
It's pronounced vai-count
Yeah I realised after recording lol
I thought it was a pun on "discount". Would fit the game.
How do you know the s is silent? What language is it???
This and Sonic Shuffle are basically the discount versions of discount Mario Party
This game was my childhood, I played this every day on my DS

For Crash 1 I'd play both versions and then compare them, it is the game that was the most improved in the Nsane Trilogy version.
A new WumpaLewis video, today is a good day!
Do you believe that its minigames can be re-utilized for Crash Bash remaster and fix them in many ways than one?
This was the only Crash game I had on my DS as a kid and I fucking loved it. I guess I still have a soft spot for it.
Finally, the legend is back
The artstyle is the one thing Crash Boom Bang had going for it. It's a shame that artstyle had to be wasted on a POS minigame collection.
I'd like to see the N. SANE trilogy gameplay over the original
What a great review of the worst Crash game ever. No hyperbole.
Play Crash 1 on original PSX. It's way more unforgivable
i'd say n sane mostly because its easier to collect all the gems since that no death run thing was taken out in the n sane release exept for the colored gems
Wow, I’m reading the title and I was about to respond “no it wasn’t” but the first 5 seconds did the job for me! Lol

Play both the original and the remaster and do a side-by-side comparison analysing where NST improved the original and where it got stuff wrong, maybe?
