As I said in the video both he and Ravi managed to captivate so many emotions within their performance it's insane. I could genuinely feel the heartbreak and loss echoing through their voices. Leo hitting that high note was hands down one for the books. Now Ravi.... Ravi looked competently insane throughout the entire MV, but I think that was the point... to captivate Ravi as the other side of Leo. Ravi's rapping was also superb and I stand by that. Anyways, I cannot wait to listen and learn more not just about these two but about VIXX as a whole. ❤ Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Leo's quadruple high note is amazing. Ravi and Leo where both surprised by it. Leo said he had never tried it before. But Ravi knew he could pull it off. They are an amazing duo. I hope the do more together in the future.

Leo is the "beautiful liar" who wants to do what he believes is right by letting the girl go while Ravi represents the true emotions that Leo is trying to keep hidden inside of him. You can see the conflict between these two sides during the key scene, where Ravi finally breaks free from Leo for a moment and tries to go after the girl, and during the struggle/contemporary dance when Leo tries to pull Ravi back. Leo succeeds in the end, and is left empty and alone as Ravi fades away while the lyrics change from "I'm a beautiful liar" to "I'm a cowardly liar." There's also a lot of symbolism in the MV, from the outfits, pianos, background, make up, light imagery, etc. You were definitely on the right track when you noticed Ravi’s more chaotic image vs the reservedness of Leo’s! One of my other favorites is how Leo's eyes are lined with glitter, which makes it look like he's holding back tears in order to maintain his beautiful lie, while Ravi's are red-rimmed as if he's been crying, which expresses Leo's real feelings. Hope this helps and I’m looking forward to more VIXX reactions in the future!

I don’t know how far the theories go, but I personally believe that Whisper is the conclusion to Beautiful Liar and kinda like a happy ending to the story told in BL. So I would recommend to check it out 😊 Also, BL was the debut song for VIXX LR and W their first and only comeback. They promoted both songs, so you can find several live stages for both of them. And they even got a win with BL! I’m happy that you liked the song! It truly is a masterpiece and for a lot of people and me as well LR is one of the best sub units kpop ever have had!
Oh and maybe a little side note: as some have already mentioned, Ravi composed BL and him and Leo both worked on the whole album. But apparently Leo seems to compose only sad and depressing songs that’s why they chose Ravi’s song as the title track. But if you ask me, BL turned out pretty sad as well. So I don’t even want to imagine how sad Leo‘s proposal for the title track must have been 😅
One of my all-time favorite songs! It was the first song I went out of my way to learn the pronunciation so I could sing along to when I was first getting into K-pop. Also couple of fun facts: Chained Up was originally thought up by Ravi as a concept for this duo. Ravi's singing voice is totally underrated. He sings almost all of the group's guide tracks & you can hear him in the background vocals on a number of VIXX (and individual member's solo tracks.)

The storyline is kinda deep. Leo and Ravi in the MV represent 2 basic aspect of every person. *Leo's role is lie and Ravi is the truth* they are one person but 2 personalities, two characters inner self and outerself? _(idk if that word even exist xD)_ u can see them fighting over the body I can say. Leo singing "I am beautiful liar" he loves the girl but he created a beautiful lie and lies her about his feelings to let her be happy and she is getting married with someone trying to end the realtionship and giving him *Wedding invitation* also then Leo singing he always lie to her & putting on the mask of a smile which means that so she cannot see how he really feels. Ravi trying to stop the girl while she is leaving he's trying to tell her a truth and he can't accept that she is leaving surprisingly. _(but she cannot see him)_ and that is reason why he looks insane and crazy cuz he seems to be dangerous. Sometimes u lie to the person for their own safety, to make them happy so instead of "beautiful lie" comes "beautiful pain". Leo stops Ravi and they basically started fighting with each other over control again. At the end Leo killed Ravi, u can see his body while Leo pushing him back in the end of the MV. Leo killed Ravi and stayed alone without anybody only with his own "beauiful lie" which he created. *here I'm going to write part of a lyric what I was talking about (mainly)*: This is beautiful lie My last lie Even if it's hurts to death I'm hiding myself under the mask for you ... You really need to react to whisper as it is connected to BL since in the beginning of whisper you hear th part with the key falling off the table from this song, its their soulmate concept of finding each other back, its a different vibe and kind of a "happy ending"
If I didn't guess they had to be parts of the same person, I would have guessed that it was a hidden threesome lol. I definitely would have said Ravi cared more about Leo's romance than he did. In the end it was never her it was Ravi, like he knew he had to let her go to get Ravi back but in the end he still lost his true lover, a part of himself.
