Over on reddit there's a lot of people concerned about Air RB - but I don't really play Top Tier Air RB because the one thing ALWAYS true with War Thunder is "Top tier air RB is broken." I don't know which weirdos come to this game thinking that it's going to not be DCS, not be Ace Combat, and that there's going to be some impressive balance struck so players end up in high-skill dog fights? If people want realistic weapons, well, this is what modern air combat is like. You shoot a missile over the horizon at a radar locked target. If you don't like it don't play this battle rank? Maybe don't play modern jet fighter games where this is how they should be played with lots of missile spamming at distant radar targets? Personally I think Air RB just gets miserable and unplayable after 7.7 and above. It's too easy to end up in a capabilities gap where you have no defense against other player's weapons. There's plenty of "high" ranked aircraft that don't even have counter-measures, like what am I going to do with the Sagittario 2? At this point there's no place to play it in the game. This is just one representative of how broken Air Battles are, you can come across many opponents that just outclass you in every sense.
Well you are right there are a lot of people on the forums that feel invested in the game and think things should be one way or another. But the truth is it's a video game and it's never going to be like real life no matter how much people want it to be. For a game with so many different aircraft at different levels you're right there are going to be vehicles that completely outclass others having the system where you are plus or minus 1 BR of whatever you're playing leads into a lot of that problem. I think in the current state of play there needs to be certain locks in place for instance if you are bringing Active Radar homing systems into the game you should only be playing against other people that have that same weapon system on their plane. This way people don't want to play or use those systems they can just use IR missiles like normal. However I would also like a Top Gun mode where are there simply are no missiles and it comes down to skill. But again this is just me thinking of what I want and not what might be good for the game because certain aircraft are better at dog fighting than other aircraft so you're back to the same problem of one aircraft has better missiles than the next. Tldr it's an imperfect system and sometimes you just got to do the best you can
@@ReaperOperator I think Gaijin could EASILY do "events" like every weekend where it's Air RB with no missiles and small teams. Players would flock to that, they'd celebrate it.
Does the italian ava 8 have the same radar mechanics as the f 16c. Like shooting the radar the radar and then unlocking the radar will it still follow?
The Italian AV8 B+ has aim 120s it's radar module is the an / APG 65q. The American F-16c comes equipped with an AN APG - 68(v) 7. So as far as its ability to lock and maintain that lock I'm not 100% sure since they're different ones however since they have the AIM 120s they should still have the ability to use track while searching.
Hey I am a Russian main and I know that the aim 120’s are better but how do the r77 compare because everyone is saying the r77 is trash compared to the aim 120 and I haven’t used it in a real game yet
So the biggest difference is between NATO aircraft at top tier and Russian aircraft is that NATO aircraft generally have a better radar system for locking and maintaining Glock on aircraft however the missiles do not have as much capability. On the flip side the Russian aircraft have a crappy radar and have a hard time locking but their missiles are vastly superior They have 50g Max over and can travel for 90 seconds. The NATO aim 120s have 82 seconds of flight time with 40 G's of Max over they both generally travel at Mach Jesus.

Ask 3 other people and you will get 3 different opinions. it come down to (1) do you know how to use your Radar. and (2) do you know what you Missile can do. I have seen many times an F14 climb high and fire all its AIM54 and never hit a thing. I have also see someone get 5 kills with AIM54. So Skill is a thing.
It’s scenario based, the r77 is better in the closer ranges because it’s more maneuverable with its high g limit, however it lacks range because the fins on the missile create high amounts of drag that slow it down faster so it’s not as good in the bvr. I will also agree with the RUclipsrs comment as well, all these missiles are good, but it’s based on how well someone can use their radar which is the biggest factor, if you used to bvr with the r27er when it was the king then you will have a harder time but if you can play it smart it’s just as serviceable as pretty much any of these other missiles added

they needed to go to 14.0 not 13.0 even some 12.0 are out played so fast now you cant even get into battle.
Decompression is something that a lot of players have talked about but little traction with the DEVs
Getting ass raped in an uptier is what the devs want so that players will either play more to get the higher br plane or buy GE for it

Yards or ft dont go to 0.0 instead they go to 12yd so its easier to tell if somethings comjng towards you or not
