Always a pleasure listening to you, Awa Kamitha. Suprisingly, the 1.5 hours of the podcast seemed like just a few minutes. Tuko tayari for the Gikuyu Convention, and will support it by all means.
Mzee kamitha thanks, we are together in this. "mukuru Gaya utwo ie mugaire". What has spoiled mankind is hypocrisy ie you will be surprised that we all go to church but in all churches these days there is a cctv camera (haria muhothi utaragirwo). As a community we need to pause and trace what we t wrong.
Thayu awa,,,its timely message and event it is....looking at maa community cultural event I ask myself a question ,,,is it only gikuyu culture that is demonic? What is the need to have ministry of sports and culture in an environment supportive to some cultures and suppressing other cultures....is there an order by our colonisers to national leaders to suppress gikuyu culture???
Yes there is. It's like we're the only community that's not allowed to truly be who we are. It has been a long and elaborate program since the colonial days, and you can tell that it's working because when we Agikuyu have discussions about our culture in English on various platforms (blogs, facebook groups, etc), members of other communities always come in to leave negative comments. I never see this happening to the Maasai community or any other community for that matter. No one makes negative comments about their blood-drinking, we all just accept that it's their culture. No one goes onto the videos of the Mijikenda and leaves negative comments about their traditional death ceremonies with their vigango. No one goes onto the videos of the Luhya community and leaves negative comments about their disco matanga ceremonies. Our Gikuyu traditions have been negatively associated with mungiki, and in every video on youtube where our elders are carrying out various traditional ceremonies, there are always comments accusing them of witchcraft, even from our fellow Agikuyu. Our traditional Gikuyu foods are constantly mocked by other Kenyans saying that its tasteless and unimaginative. Never mind the fact that their own communities' food isn't exactly international cuisine. We can't even have a proper discussion online about the role of the maumau in the fight for freedom without some members of other communities either inserting their communities into the narrative, or minimizing the heroism of the maumau. The brainwashing against our community has been going on for so long, it has become second nature to many Kenyans. Only upon discovering who we are and the spiritual role that Ngai has blessed us with will we as Andu a Nyumba understand why. This is a very timely conversation indeed.
Yes because gikuyu is the core. History itu ihithitwo ruraya ni nyakeru in their vaults. Niguo mugikuyu erigwo. Mugikuyu ahuragwo ni nyakeru not fellow kenyans
From an esoteric perspective I believe you are correct that the colonisers left it as so that Gikuyu culture was totally and utterly destroyed. We were already dealing with an occult force in the British Monarchy which was continuing it's serpentine crawl across the globe undertaking ancient mandates dating as far back as to their Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh forefathers and perhaps even earlier. It appears to me that in any nation where they encountered esoterically adept communities they went to the furthest lengths to either destroy or morph them. And there are some Gikuyu writers who have posited the possibility of Gikuyu's having been in Ancient Egypt around the era of Akhenaten prior to his exile. My thinking is that upon the Monarchy's arrival in our lands, our community members at the helm sensed and possibly knew exactly what form of creature had arrived. And, they mounted a defence which was in the form of the Mau Mau an already esoteric element of our peoples. But, as with nearly all things, these serpentine peoples got what they wanted and bludgeoned us. To cause further damage they grabbed the most corrupt of us and turned them into their home guards and political puppets. These are the many "notables" we know of today as our "community leaders". When our community began to reawaken towards getting in touch with our culture via Kiamas a decade ago, the good ol' trusty tool of Gikuyu subjugation, the PCEA and it's fellow churches, sprang into action to drive it back underground. The political leadership on their end drove the thriving Kiamas into corrupt schisms with Athuri bowing to the highest bidder.
