I have a home hobby shop and i created different tips 4 inches 6 inches and 12 also made a couple hose extensions. These will make your life so much easier!
The first one I bought leaked air. I suggest if you buy one, make sure it will hold air or you will lose product all over the place when you fill it. I exchanged the one that leaked and tested the second one for seven days before introducing an "expensive" brake cleaner, and once I knew it would hold without leaking, it has held up well. It cannot be used for all sprayable products, and there are small hoses that can be added for tight areas made by other companies that sell this same style sprayer for much more. These are all from the same place, and HF has given it a price cut and they should sell more.
Is Brake Cleaner Toxic? In short, yes - benzene is a known carcinogen. Brake cleaner instructions will recommend usage outside or in well ventilated areas. For professional mechanics, however, who experience prolonged exposure, ventilation does little to prevent inhalation and skin contact. Few companies provided proper warnings in 1960s and 1970s, when benzene levels were higher than today. Today, some of these toxic chemicals are now listed in the ingredients. There are loopholes in the law regarding warning labels. The true chemical composition may be hidden to protect “trade secrets”. And because it’s nearly impossible to use brake cleaner at a safe distance, inhalation is nearly unavoidable. Even with the use of a mask, you are still not 100% protected.

Its proportional to the amount of air space available in it. If its half full of fluid, it will hold the pressure more constantly through use where as if it was nearly full of fluid the volume of compressible air is reduced greatly and the pressure will drop drastically as the liquid is expelled.

Why would they not have an adjustable nozzle? That's just stupid.
Right? but once the mister is removed, the thing works super well.
Aww… I thought that because of the thumbnail, you were making a reference to Schmoos from that old comic Lil Abner. Then I heard how young you sounded and there went that..
Wonder how this reacts to thinned out paint
Hmmm!
Some Rusto and xylene
Why is brake cleaner bad?
What's in Brake Cleaner? Brake cleaning products contain hydrocarbons like benzene and toluene, a benzene derivative. Benzene is known to cause blood cancer and bone marrow cancer like acute myeloid leukemia (AML), multiple myeloma (MM), myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL).
Only in the state of California
@@josephlopez6114 spray some in a glass of water and tell me with a straight face that’s ok to be in your body. The skin absorbs everything you touch and it goes straight into your blood and throughout your entire body. Also when you inhale this it goes into your lungs and also into your blood.
I use one and I buy the bulk gallon WD-40 works great
I also have a gallon of WD-40. It’s great!
Question is, how long will it last??????
Awesome and yes Harbor freight does sell funnels 😂
This is great. Subbed.
Thank you!
Does it come with a user manual ?
I bought one to use as a general cleaner with gas, and it works great misting or a stream, but the second one I bought to mist oil, and it will only come out as a stream. I switched the nozzles back and forth, and both units mist gas, but will not mist oil.
Interesting that it will not mist oil. What kind of oil are you trying to mist with it?
@@EmbarkWithMark Engine oil. I ended up mixing the oil with 50 % gas and it mists ok. The gas will evaporate, leaving the oil film after drying.
Not a bad idea. Are you trying to provide a protective coating against rust/elements? It's Interesting to me the spray has trouble shooting oil. I'd think at max PSI almost anything would spray out. @@jonlanigan3439
@@EmbarkWithMark It's for general rust proofing of parts in storage or the underside of a car. There are different nozzles available, but I don't think it would make a difference. I used 5w30 synthetic oil, but it has to be more like the consistency of an aerosol spray lube you would buy at Walmart or a parts store.
Harbor Freight is awesome!!
It sure can be!
Can this be filled using a portable tire inflator?
I’m sure it could. Doesn’t take a lot of volume. Just pressure.
Wish the fill hole was bigger. I like mine
That would be a nice improvement.
If I ever get to HF I will get me other one because there very handy for lots of stuff in shop and home 😊
I need a second for some PB blaster
Got one and love it.💪👍🇺🇸
Could you spray fluid film through this?
Unsure, I should test what we can spray through this thing though! Good idea.
Wonder how it works with thicker fluids
Something I need to test.
My brake clean cans always get the sprayer cap nozzzel busted off.. so you are trying to figure out how to get the crap out of the can without covering your skin in carcinagentic stuff,,, good idea this device
Makee in America ?
You don't need to buy brake clean. Acetone is far cheaper by the gallon and good ol gas is great.
I use old fuel on my chainsaws, works great. Somethings need the good stuff though.
Wonder if it will last as long as a genuine Milwaukee Sure Shot...
Time will tell, so far its been great!
Looks like it will be fine for the K+N air filter oil
Oh, now that would be a great use!
Can bulk fluid film be sprayed from any of these?
No idea. I should give that a try though!
Can you use it just as a air sprayer ???
probably, but I can't see how this would be useful.
20l of break clean is 45eur + tax where i live
Isn't that like 5 gallons!?
@@EmbarkWithMark yes it is
how long does it last before adding more air pressure?
I still havn't added any air since this video. My guess is it probably lasts the whole can. However, good question. I shall run a test.
Its proportional to the amount of air space available in it. If its half full of fluid, it will hold the pressure more constantly through use where as if it was nearly full of fluid the volume of compressible air is reduced greatly and the pressure will drop drastically as the liquid is expelled.
@@redneckhippiefreakyep, just like a pump up weed sprayer I suppose
i use mine with Fluid film for rust prevention
How does it work?
Whats the difference between Brake Cleaner and Parts Washer Solvent? Anyone?
Brake cleaner is for quickly cleaning brake parts and evaporates fast, leaving no residue. Parts washer solvent is used in a parts washer for more thorough cleaning of a variety of parts and usually takes longer to dry.
How has this held up over many uses?
I use it almost every weekend and it’s held up well so far.
Can you put regular cleaning stuff in them
I don’t see why not!
Do you know if it works spraying upside down or on its side?
Doesn't really work, you can sorta get it to spray for a second or two but works best when held upright
Anyone know if u can spray diesel fuel and motor oil mix with this sprayer? Looks like it maybe handy to undercoat my trailers.
OOOHH Im going to give this a shot.
Half that size would be perfect.
Yes it would!
think did lot at time application vs aplcater apply brush rags homemade even soak control lay on surface catch pan
use old oils less tourch less heat elctic iron vs hot air or cold freezer expand or contract bearings etc now fabric sunlight
pressure low or high add to same less is more concept i use old gas old diesel very fine penatration gets in pinholes threads
That thing is begging for a small hose to reach up and into nooks and crannies.
Oooo. Now that’s a big brain move. The search for parts begins.
Hf sells a funnel for about 50 cents
How often you gotta fill it with air?
As soon as it runs out.
@@firstname6208 😂
I went yesterday to harbor fright and the sprayer price is $40
Interesting. I wonder if they had the 20% off coupon this black Friday.
They must have seen his review and jacked up the price!
@@firstmkb Thats faltering! But I doubt this little poky youtube channel has enough influence for that. Thank you!
