Found this song about a year ago while going through a break up and seeing how many people this song touched was amazing. It got me through a really rough patch. (Still here songs still amazing)
Got to see this man in Albuquerque. Got to talk to him one on one. Forever grateful for that nighg and this band. In thehe darkest times of my life i discovered this band everything happens for a reason.
I ef-in love this song and the band. last time I saw them play Ben was drinking straight out of a whiskey bottle in between verses and his voice never changed. one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
One of my favorite bands. They sounded better at a shitty old bar than any band I've ever seen at a big venue. They sound even better than they do on their albums.
I wasn’t sure what to think about this band, and Bens voice when I first was introduced to them. It took some time to grow on me. And now I can’t get enough! They are one of my favorites!
I don’t ‘like’ things that are so obviously excellent. The dude abides, let the fools stew in their ignorance until he dies and they can buy a lucero shirt and pretend
It was Texas, it was Tennessee It was what I had come into me You were unlike anything before Black magic, devil killer, I was yours It was the early days of rock 'n roll It was Otis, it was Memphis soul It was a plane crash, it was overnight It was burnin' fast and burnin' bright [Chorus:] Baby, don't you talk no more, that looks is loud enough You don't have to tell me how it feels not to be in love You see, that was my oldest game, darlin', it was my claim to fame And I knew that when I met you, all that you would need is more than what I got Oh, so baby, please just stop It was Texas, it was Tennessee It was exes and some wannabes It was reckless, it was understood It didn't matter cuz it felt so good And I'll still be here if you change your mind But I can see the leaving in your eyes Don't want to hear it, cuz I know it well I've said it all before to someone else [Chorus] [Break] It was Texas, it was Tennessee A kind of love a-closer kin to grief It was everything that I could want But California came and took it all
Disliking videos doesn’t mean they dislike the song. I dislike lots of versions of songs especially Jimi Hendrix and like others so that the right quality ones come up in my recommended
I really enjoy the sound of Lucero. Does anyone know of any other bands that have a similar style of play. If you would comment their band name that would be much appreciated
Sounds like ben chases gasoline with broken glass and inhaled cigars. What a voice. Just a little jealous.

Same.
Everyone finds lucero thru a breakup
In a better place now song is still amazing will not forget what it got me through ❤️

Gina Williams will be here in August. Launchpad
He needs to come back thru
Gracias a Dios por haberlos conocido. Los amo!
I met Tennessee and it was just a moment, maybe more than i deserved, but a moment that I’ve kept.
I ef-in love this song and the band. last time I saw them play Ben was drinking straight out of a whiskey bottle in between verses and his voice never changed. one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
Gotta feel it to play it*

Fell in love with this tune at the live show. Awesome to hear it recorded. Lucero will always be the greatest!
Just great!!!
Man those lyrics get me every time...

Awesomeness 👍🏻💚💨
RIP Justin Russel lucero was his favorite band

Gonna make a 12 hour ride from Louisiana to go see my boys play @ Mercy. Going to be one hell of a wild weekend for me!
I heard that there is a burger house in Austin Texas that has a sauce named after this song.
I wasn’t sure what to think about this band, and Bens voice when I first was introduced to them. It took some time to grow on me. And now I can’t get enough! They are one of my favorites!
Still here… 🍻
Amazing as always.....Can't wait for June 28th @ Mercy

They were badass in Houston last night
116000 views and only 500 likes wtf, these guys are are so good they sound the same at a live show what a voice man this song really gets me
I don’t ‘like’ things that are so obviously excellent. The dude abides, let the fools stew in their ignorance until he dies and they can buy a lucero shirt and pretend
Your music is awesome keep it up. My boy Andrew turner introduced me too it and I love it man.
My son turned me onto it too
This is awesome absolutely love you guys
can't wait to see these guys at FEST next month! Florida loves you! :D
Saw them last week. Great!
My fav band all time
Still good
This man could have be a vocalist with The Band and he would have fit perfectly. Absolutely wonderful.
John LaStrada disagree. Levon Helm was a god. Probably the best comparison but that would be too many cooks in the kitchen ;)
@@hillaryanderson4613 I feel like Ben would fit into the Rick Danko slot better than he would the Levon Helm slot.
Love them great music
It was Texas, it was Tennessee
It was what I had come into me
You were unlike anything before
Black magic, devil killer, I was yours
It was the early days of rock 'n roll
It was Otis, it was Memphis soul
It was a plane crash, it was overnight
It was burnin' fast and burnin' bright
[Chorus:]
Baby, don't you talk no more, that looks is loud enough
You don't have to tell me how it feels not to be in love
You see, that was my oldest game, darlin', it was my claim to fame
And I knew that when I met you, all that you would need is more than what I got
Oh, so baby, please just stop
It was Texas, it was Tennessee
It was exes and some wannabes
It was reckless, it was understood
It didn't matter cuz it felt so good
And I'll still be here if you change your mind
But I can see the leaving in your eyes
Don't want to hear it, cuz I know it well
I've said it all before to someone else
[Chorus]
[Break]
It was Texas, it was Tennessee
A kind of love a-closer kin to grief
It was everything that I could want
But California came and took it all
I'm pretty sure Ben spells our the word cause when he writes his lyrics
I absolutely love this fucking song
Love this band
Anyone who votes down on this band, doesn't know good music.
Disliking videos doesn’t mean they dislike the song. I dislike lots of versions of songs especially Jimi Hendrix and like others so that the right quality ones come up in my recommended
Yay! Loved hearing you guys doing the music in "Mud"! Keep up the good work and I hope to see y'all in Houston.
So Damn Good!
The words are amazing. The voice is very unique. Love the song n story..
Here is korea
I feel nostalgia
Davy Crockett legend...
Never even heard of this band until nerocemina showed his tattoos of this band
Sounds like something Paul Westerberg would’ve written.
I really enjoy the sound of Lucero. Does anyone know of any other bands that have a similar style of play. If you would comment their band name that would be much appreciated
Look up American Aquarium and Turnpike Troubadours...you'll like them.
The Felice Brothers. Nice stuff. Intelligent lyrics.
Check out Ryan Bingham
Jesse Fenner Jesse, I find that The Hold Steady reminds me of Lucero often. I haven't listened to the others in the "reply's", but I'm going too now.
Slobberbone
I wanted to be the first to comment on this one. You win, ThelynxAZ!
Lucero não é minha Diva Mexicana?
This is Katie . Song is wrenching
“California came and took it all”
Will this ever be released on Google Play Music?
It was Texas it was tennesse
...but California came and took it all!

Baby, dont you talk no more, that look is loud enought.
I wonder if that pretty girl came back to Texas, considering the California exodus.
my boss loves this group...don't know why

But California came and fucked it up. Love the live version
Hi to the gang. Next you're in town come play the farm. Same address. New stage. Cheers.
Ps I hate your faces for making this gut wrenching song.
Always hated country till lucero
What the fuck IS It about Texas & Tennessee?
It was what he had coming to him
we some fighting , drinking , guitar playing motherfuckers in them parts
Townes Van Zandt's soul lingers in those two places, that's my guess..
Your music is awesome keep it up. My boy Andrew turner introduced me too it and I love it man.
Christopher Wolfe is Andrew Turner from Indiana?
