I would like to hear more of your thoughts about AC/Mechanical closets with a louvered door. Should an individual have to use plenum rated wiring methods? Essentially meaning no plastic disconnect and only metallic raceway (FMC) whip into AH? Residential and/or Commercial? ***I am an Electrical Inspector here in Panama City Fl.. Love all the perspectives and interpretations you all provide when I'm looking for grey area code references***
300.22(C) does not apply to spaces not specifically fabricated for environmental air-handling purposes but used for air-handling purposes as a plenum, or habitable rooms or areas of buildings, the prime purpose of which is not air handling. Does this help?
The picture at 6:31 is different than the previous picture. The picture at 6:31 has a return air duct attached to a grill placed in the ceiling, pulling in air from below the ceiling. I don't think that's a plenum.
What team right there! Thanks 4 what you do.
Very Informative..what if in the ceiling exhaust duct only runs. Is it considered as plenum space??Thanks
