If you have a problem with Kamala Kahn as a character, that is fine. Everyone has different tastes. If you have a problem with her being the focus of a game that's meant to be about the actual Avengers- that is also fine; and there's a valid debate to be had with the latter. But I've seen a lot... A LOOOOT- of people who are broilingly enraged that she *exists*, and that's where I call Bullshit. It is not "sjw propaganda"- as the current buzzwords like to scream- to acknowledge that not everyone in the audience is a white man and to give representation to other demographics; and I get increasingly tired and aggravated every time I see a bitch fit thrown over it.

I agree such buzzwording is annoying. But I get the feeling that said representation is more used as a cheap shield by egos of people of the entertainment industry who will strawman anyone who doesn't like their work as racist or sexist. Plus the whole representation thing comes off as inherently racist itself because if you cannot identify with a characters humanity because of gender or race, then you're the one with the problem as I for one see some of myself in Kamala Khan here and I know plenty of black people prefer Peter Parker over Miles Morales. Plus there really is no empirical data that said representation actually has the influence Hollywood seems to think it has, the world is not as black and white as the internet seems to make you think it is.
Personally, I don’t like the character in the comics at all, but I at least can say that her portrayal in this game is the best she has had so far, in my opinion (if she has appeared in TV shows or movies before, then I haven’t seen them, so I can’t speak for those); at least from the LPs and cutscene compilations I’ve seen because there’s no way I’m actually playing this glorified mobile game.
I love the constant adding of red flags every time it cuts back to you. Took me a second to get it when I saw them the first time and then I laughed uproariously, well done on that gag dude.
@@bighungry98 A "red flag" is a term for an early warning sign that something bad is going to happen, so every time I ran into a sign that the post launch was not going well, I added a red flag to serve as a visual metaphor for all the warning signs that this game ain't getting fixed.
What would have helped with the villain pool in my opinion would have been having some of the people who got powers on A-Day join or become brainwashed agents of AIM instead of just Taskmaster, Abomination, and MODOK as villains. It would actually make the story a lot better as there are actually stakes in trying to rescue some of the people who are being manipulated by AIM to do their dirty work and maybe would later be tortured for experiments if they failed their mission in stopping the Avengers.
It’s embarrassing that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, a lower budget Switch exclusive game with a focus on button mashing combat and excessive grinding, is somehow a better game and a better tribute to Marvel Comics than the big budget triple A game
Im happy you like that game since after seeing the 7.5 reviews, I thought people didnt like that game and thus I thought it was ruined like the Marvel vs Capcom series, but man Im happy Im wrong here. And I like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 btw.

Speaking of "cost for completion", Jirard the Completionist found that the Xbox trophies for this game are bugged so they do not activate even if completed or become activated randomly. He described the game as "actively fighting against being completed."

I honestly felt Kamala's introduction to this universe was the most organic here: in this game. Not perfect, but I at least understood who she was and what she stood for, her capabilities and limitations, and the pay off at the end worked because of it. Her culture, religion, background, etc, never mattered to me. I know that's just me, but unlike the comics, this game at least got me to say "Hey... I kind of would like to see more of you."
Tony having to gradually gather pieces of his suit over the course of a game could make for a good story. Won't happen, since people would get annoyed at not being the full Iron Man immediately. Although there is a Metroidvania called Shadow Complex with that concept which was popular enough to get a remaster.
Just one note: Maestro is an evil future version of the Hulk, but has absolutely nothing to do with Old Man Logan: he first appeared much earlier, in a Hulk storyline called Future Imperfect, back in 1992. Maybe him appearing in Hawkeye's story in Marvel's Avengers could be a reference to Old Man Logan, but they are not really related in the comics.
I did not know about Future Imperfect; I just know there's an evil Hulk in Old Man Logan and assumed he came from there. The Hawkeye expansion is even named "Future Imperfect." Either way, his appearance has no impact on the Hawkeye expansion's story

It's funny because, since the original comic was a Hulk storyline, they could have adapted it for a Hulk character: they could have introduced Rick Jones and made it the origin story for A-Bomb, just for example.
It really sucks that the Avengers game turned out the way it did. Because like with Fast & Furious: Crossroads, there was an idea for a fun game. However the final product is clunky, the story and characters were uninteresting, the game has more crashes than a Russian freeway, and the full game is locked behind updates and DLC. (Edit: I though Kamala has an decent background, but the story wasn't strong enough to establish anything of interest)
The main villain should’ve been the masters of evil with Abomination, Taskmaster, Modok, Monica could’ve been viper (or stayed the same), and Baron Zemo. Now that is an avengers level threat.
gotta love how in one of the most varied and colorful runs of comics in the world, the one antagonistic force they chose was the one that was just generic robots and soldiers.
As you have stated, this really does feel like a game that the dev team likely wanted to be proud of, but the higher-ups mandated that they put in systems that hurt the game at every turn, seemingly to get the... 5% or so who will actually buy all of that (nearly $600 for costumes, ugh). There's also the locking of Spider-Man behind a certain group of people who just happened to own certain hardware (for the record, I do have a PS4, and I still find it really disgusting). Also, somewhat unrelated note (maybe kind of): It feels like these triple-A titles are abandoning people who only have so much money to spend, and I'm worried about what the future will hold. I hope I'm just reading too deep into things. I also hope you take a break and play something you enjoy from time to time. I feel like you deserve it, man.

Dishonored? That's that Thief spiritual sequel which is supposed to be really good! Also, it's widely regarded by gamers as one of the greatest stealth games ever, and it received two sequels. It really isn't 'underrated'. Now 3D Realms' Prey? THAT's underrated.

What you brought up about Kamala's story heavily reminds me of Delsin Rowe from inFAMOUS Second Son, a super hero/villain game that's way better than this.

To be honest, I have no qualms against Ms. Marvel, the problem is that nothing of interest has been established and the writing isn't strong enough to support _any_ of the characters since the plot itself is crap. I also kinda feel like the "idealistic kid joins their dream team" setup reads like self-insert fanfiction, rather than a fully fledged story. It also doesn't help that the titular Avengers don't assemble until the very end of the game. But that's just my take on the plot. At least with a game like Fast & Furious: Crossroads, they actually start you off playing as the iconic characters before sweeping them under the rug with their own boring self-insert OCs. It's also much shorter than Marvel's Avengers, take that what you will.
And that's my issue with Ms. Marvel as a character. It's not that she's a minority character that takes the spotlight, it's because she's a surrogate "quirky outsider" character shoehorned in to make an audience surrogate. Much like with Vienna and Cam from F&F Crossroads, coincidentally enough.
actually i just thought of something, technically the gear systems in X-men Legends and Ultimate Alliance are far better then this, because its not limited to just one character, you can equip it to all characters you have, and there are some acutally noticable effects on them, like sometimes one will add fire or electric damage to your attacks, or unique ones will actually boost most stats, granted UA 2 and 3 kinda loose that touch but you get the idea i know those games are not on your interest, but im just giving an idea on something done WAY better in an older game, then in this POS
You know, I've probably blown around 5 or 600$ on Warframe cosmetics but that's a game that has kept me pretty consistently entertained for 8 years now. Games like it really show the kind of dedication and patience is needed to foster a successful looter shooter and I don't think most AAA publishers have it in them.

i do wanna point something out of a little cameo in the game, theres a character named Paul Sheldon, he's a news guy with an eyepatch, if you dont know who he is, he was the main character of the Graphic Novel MARVELS by Alex Ross, his story is he is basically a by stander at allot of major marvel events, unveiling the first human torch (the robot one) the first time Galactus came to earth, Mr Fantastic and Invisible Womans Wedding, the X-men and the bigots they face as enemies, honestly the guy had a legit good story, and this is where his legacy takes him, a goddamn corporate greed project of a video game

Monica shows up at the end because she was a clone lol. They specically mentionned than the clones have two different eyes and they make sure to show you that at the end, Monica has eyes the same color, meaning its the true one.
I would argue that the combat is actually the game's biggest strength. The most fun I've had in the game is just the AI combat rooms, but there's really a lot each character can do aside from maybe Hulk. A lot of the more unique moves/enhancements are buried deep in the skill trees (or behind a paywall, like the finishers), because they want you to keep grinding through characters for a long time. Unfortunately, the game is very much tuned around being that co-op multiplayer style, so you are filling roles for MP sessions. Tank, DPS, etc. But the actual nuts and bolts of cracking endless robots in the face is pretty fun, at least for someone like me who plays a lot of character action stuff like Bayonetta and DMC. I would genuinely love to play a proper single player game where you play with these movesets instead of what the game actually is, which is those endlessly repurposed open maps solving mini puzzles and refighting the same handful of AIM enemies.
You know I feel like this game's campaign could have taken some cues from Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, namely having each level designed around each characters unique abilities to keep the experience fresh and engaging all the way through. Seriously, Black Widow has a cloaking ability, and there's NO stealth levels that take advantage of that? 15:29 Also, why is that the *only* thing that Hank Pym is known for? NERD RANT incoming in 3...2...1... 1) Hank Pym was undergoing a mental breakdown and as such wasn't thinking clearly when that happened. 2) Ever since that happened Hank has felt immense guilt and remorse for doing it and people still can't let it go. 3) IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ACCIDENT! Due to miscommunication between the writer and artist, the writer intended for Hank to accidently hit Janet when he turned around to point at her, but the artist drew it so that it looked like he backhanded her with all his might. As a bonus, Spider-Man hit his wife, when she was pregnant nonetheless, but no one gives him shit for it, so why is Hank the only one who never gets to live it down?
I disagree about your idea of there being plot holes, at least those specific ones your bring up. Something doesn't have to be someone's direct fault, for them to feel guilty or bad about it. Guilt isn't exactly a logical emotion. For at least Tony and Bruce, their guilt was mainly because they approved the plan to work together with George and Monica to build the reactor in the first place, even if they didn't build it themselves. Which then they thought got Cap killed.
Yeah...it's a real shame. It seems game companies are hyper focusing on hunting "whales" and milking the oil out of them rather than making a good gaming experience for everyone.

Jadow, you should the 2005 Fantastic 4 movie game next. Despite the fact that they're a team of four, there are only like two or three levels where they are together. You usually play most of the levels as one or two of the four heroes, yet they have more group interaction than the Avengers in this game!
God this game had so much potential, sucks to see this game dead immediately after everyone beat the story, they can add all the free DLC they want and it still won't save it
They recently added another in-game currency with units. Units can be acquired in-game from just searching boxes and they can be used to purchase cosmetics...but because the game still wants to milk you for as much money as possible, NONE of the skins that you have to buy with credits you can buy with units. The units are given their own skins that you can buy with them. And out of all the Unit skins...there is only one that I feel is good, that being a Mr. Fixit skin for Hulk. The other cool-looking skins? Like Ronan Hawkeye, Maestro Hulk, and the movie skins? You still have to pay the stupid microtransactions for.
UPDATE ON AVENGERS ON 2/5/2023: The game's slated to shut down in September of this year. So that's ANOTHER live service game down the tubes of internet history.
The Avengers shouldn't have held a press event next a dangerous reactor in a populated city regardless of other circumstances. Especially if it can release a toxic gas.
Considering all this, I was wondering if you'd ever take a look that the three Spider-Man games for the 6th gen. The two movie tie-ins and Ultimate Spider-Man. I've heard your opinion on them briefly in other videos but I think one video looking at all three would be really cool, since you covered all the Wii versions of the 7th gen games.
Well I seem to be known in some circles for talking about Spider-Man games, so yeah; I'd consider it. Especially since a lot of people have asked for elaboration on my thoughts on Ultimate Spider-Man (those being that it's a good Venom game guest-starring Spider-Man) And man the hyphen is a pain to type in Spider-Man.

You say the story is good, but then you pointed out that (1) it's copying a comic initiative people didn't like, (2) the Avengers themselves barely even show up, and (3) it has barely any villains and those who are there are uninteresting. You also noted multiple incidents of the campaign basically being padded out with repetitive missions. If the heroes aren't really there and the villains are lame, what is there to enjoy in a superhero movie plot?
@@Darklordjadow1 It just supports my theory that this was a single player game mandated to become a multiplayer game. CD makes decent one-character narratives. Trying to stretch multiple characters as equally important for story/grind mission purposes was their weakness when it came to the story.

Yeah sure he’s getting a stupid, pointless spin-off series where Patton Oswalt is voicing him, but he can be taken seriously when used right. And in this game I actually think they did him justice. I could see people being disappointed in that (the thing I mentioned was still its own controversy) but considering Kamala's plotline is really good and the main Avengers' plotline is stupid, I'm not going to ponder too hard if the only good part of the game is out of place or not.

Honestly, the story would've worked fine standalone. The problem is that it was marketed as an Avengers game, and when the least interesting characters in the entire game is the title characters themselves, you fail immensely.

The cancelled first person Avengers game would've been a better game had it been saved. But so far, the best Avengers games are Ultimate Alliance 1 The Lego Marvel games.
Interesting in regards to your comments about the games plot and thematic holes in regards to blaming the Avengers for something that's not their fault......... I have the same issue with Captain America Civil War, yet people constantly give that film a free pass.
Other than the Chitauri invasion most of the mass destruction incidents that the Avengers get blamed for did were their fault especially Sokovia. Tony was the one who made Ultron, Cap was the one who threw a hellicarier over a city, and Wanda was the one who blew up the building in Lagos.
Except the whole Hellicarrier was the fault of HYDRA infecting SHIELD, not Cap. And Ultron was Tony, the rest of The Avengers just cleaned up Tony's mess. Also Wanda didn't blow up the building that was Crossbones who was just about to release to release a deadly virus to the world several years before China.

@@Darklordjadow1 Don't worry, it's understandable. After all, the game released recently. But man, there's a lot to unwrap from there. Demo being barebones, every button being jump (because from what Ekkk said, Square Enix said that players aren't capable of pressing more than one button), the final boss somehow causing seizures with an attack of his, one soundtrack that some says it was taken from Ghostbusters... And let's not count that the game was released the same day as Monster Hunter Rise, which didn't help Balan Wonderworld. Fun fact, it was created by Yūji Naka, aKa the old creator of Sonic, and the same guy that created Probe and Rodea the Sky Soldier.
Some things: First, from my quick research, Monica actually is a character from the comics, debuting in 2005. Also, I think the return in the end was a clone. I might be wrong on that, so someone correct me. Second, I do like that, for as bad as he's handled, they actually made MODOK somewhat threatening instead of a total joke like usual. And they actually included his pre-transformation self, unlike other Marvel series. The fight... yeah, looks like it sucks. Third, I didn't know you aren't a fan of the Ultimate Alliance games. Why is that? Fourth, jumping back to MODOK, this is just a guess, but maybe they wanted to do something different for the villain, since villains like Thanos and Doctor Doom get used a lot. Finally, off topic, but I would SO love a solo Black Widow game. Overall, watching the whole video, we have a classic example of a game that COULD have been good, but got completely crapped on because of corporate greed.
I haven't played much of the Ultimate Alliance games, but I played their direct predecessor- X-Men Legends 2- to completion. I just found the gameplay- particularly the combat- to be really dull and repetitive. And when I ask people why they like the game, the answer almost always begins and ends with "the epicness of the story"

I think a big reason why I have a lot of nostalgia for the first two Ultimate Alliance games was because I hadn’t really experienced most of the library of Marvel characters outside of Spider-Man before that, and I wound up getting immersed with the wide variety of characters featured in both games, particularly the first game having simulator missions that delved into each character’s backstory
I think the idea was that Modok injected her with mutation goop to kill her and that gave her powers? Or maybe the cloning thing; I don't know and the game doesn't offer a single word of explanation.
@DLJadow Her clones have heterochromia iridium (meaning she has different colored irises in her case). If you paid better attention to her eyes, you'd notice the irises are differently colored.

Fun fact: they are now going to be shutting down the game, making every cosmetic free and just removing the live service part, and doing wierd currency conversions (refunds would have been better) But Spiderman will still only be on the Playstation, fun!
local multiplayer and singleplayer will still be possible, but like if the game is that buggy, it will probably implode on itself day 1 after the shutdown
This could have been Injustice but with Marvel characters which would have made good money and given fans an exciting fighting game. But no, they had to make it a cheaply made live service money milker with the intent to squeeze as much cents out of people as possible.....and they are surprised that people didn't want it and didn't buy it. You think that might tell the game industry something. But they won't learn. They never do. Even with the success of games like God of War and Star Wars: Fallen Order, most companies still believe that online service multiplayer games are the only thing that matters.
The funny thing is: when Anthem died we learned that EA was trying to force Bioware to make Dragon Age 4 another doomed live service, but after the massive failure of Anthem and the success of Jedi: Fallen Order, they've finally learned that holu crap: single player games are still successful! But the question remains: would you buy this game if they do add Captain Marvel to it?

DLJ is right. Having played FF14 since launch I can tell you that 1.0 was a global EPIC FAIL. The ONLY reason why it managed a literal Phoenix Rebirth is because Yoshi P brought it back from its grave, told corporate sponsors, "It'll be done THIS way or I'm not touching it with a 39 1/2 foot pole," and managed by some miracle for it to work. It WAS lightning in a bottle and about the only time I've seen Squeenix use their brain rather their usual, "me like because lotza monies!!" As a result we now have an MMORPG that is giving World of Warcraft ACTUAL COMPETITION!!!! I don't see that happening for Marvel's Avengers which is sad, the game looks fun. Its a crying shame.

I agree such buzzwording is annoying. But I get the feeling that said representation is more used as a cheap shield by egos of people of the entertainment industry who will strawman anyone who doesn't like their work as racist or sexist.
Plus the whole representation thing comes off as inherently racist itself because if you cannot identify with a characters humanity because of gender or race, then you're the one with the problem as I for one see some of myself in Kamala Khan here and I know plenty of black people prefer Peter Parker over Miles Morales. Plus there really is no empirical data that said representation actually has the influence Hollywood seems to think it has, the world is not as black and white as the internet seems to make you think it is.

Personally, I don’t like the character in the comics at all, but I at least can say that her portrayal in this game is the best she has had so far, in my opinion (if she has appeared in TV shows or movies before, then I haven’t seen them, so I can’t speak for those); at least from the LPs and cutscene compilations I’ve seen because there’s no way I’m actually playing this glorified mobile game.

What would have helped with the villain pool in my opinion would have been having some of the people who got powers on A-Day join or become brainwashed agents of AIM instead of just Taskmaster, Abomination, and MODOK as villains. It would actually make the story a lot better as there are actually stakes in trying to rescue some of the people who are being manipulated by AIM to do their dirty work and maybe would later be tortured for experiments if they failed their mission in stopping the Avengers.
It’s embarrassing that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, a lower budget Switch exclusive game with a focus on button mashing combat and excessive grinding, is somehow a better game and a better tribute to Marvel Comics than the big budget triple A game

I honestly felt Kamala's introduction to this universe was the most organic here: in this game. Not perfect, but I at least understood who she was and what she stood for, her capabilities and limitations, and the pay off at the end worked because of it. Her culture, religion, background, etc, never mattered to me. I know that's just me, but unlike the comics, this game at least got me to say "Hey... I kind of would like to see more of you."
Tony having to gradually gather pieces of his suit over the course of a game could make for a good story. Won't happen, since people would get annoyed at not being the full Iron Man immediately. Although there is a Metroidvania called Shadow Complex with that concept which was popular enough to get a remaster.
Just one note: Maestro is an evil future version of the Hulk, but has absolutely nothing to do with Old Man Logan: he first appeared much earlier, in a Hulk storyline called Future Imperfect, back in 1992. Maybe him appearing in Hawkeye's story in Marvel's Avengers could be a reference to Old Man Logan, but they are not really related in the comics.
I did not know about Future Imperfect; I just know there's an evil Hulk in Old Man Logan and assumed he came from there. The Hawkeye expansion is even named "Future Imperfect." Either way, his appearance has no impact on the Hawkeye expansion's story

Amazing. Spectacular. So in a way it WAS made just to make some nerds cream themselves.
It's funny because, since the original comic was a Hulk storyline, they could have adapted it for a Hulk character: they could have introduced Rick Jones and made it the origin story for A-Bomb, just for example.
It really sucks that the Avengers game turned out the way it did. Because like with Fast & Furious: Crossroads, there was an idea for a fun game.
However the final product is clunky, the story and characters were uninteresting, the game has more crashes than a Russian freeway, and the full game is locked behind updates and DLC.
(Edit: I though Kamala has an decent background, but the story wasn't strong enough to establish anything of interest)

The main villain should’ve been the masters of evil with Abomination, Taskmaster, Modok, Monica could’ve been viper (or stayed the same), and Baron Zemo. Now that is an avengers level threat.
gotta love how in one of the most varied and colorful runs of comics in the world, the one antagonistic force they chose was the one that was just generic robots and soldiers.
As you have stated, this really does feel like a game that the dev team likely wanted to be proud of, but the higher-ups mandated that they put in systems that hurt the game at every turn, seemingly to get the... 5% or so who will actually buy all of that (nearly $600 for costumes, ugh).
There's also the locking of Spider-Man behind a certain group of people who just happened to own certain hardware (for the record, I do have a PS4, and I still find it really disgusting).
Also, somewhat unrelated note (maybe kind of): It feels like these triple-A titles are abandoning people who only have so much money to spend, and I'm worried about what the future will hold. I hope I'm just reading too deep into things.
I also hope you take a break and play something you enjoy from time to time. I feel like you deserve it, man.

To be honest, I have no qualms against Ms. Marvel, the problem is that nothing of interest has been established and the writing isn't strong enough to support _any_ of the characters since the plot itself is crap.
I also kinda feel like the "idealistic kid joins their dream team" setup reads like self-insert fanfiction, rather than a fully fledged story.
It also doesn't help that the titular Avengers don't assemble until the very end of the game. But that's just my take on the plot.
At least with a game like Fast & Furious: Crossroads, they actually start you off playing as the iconic characters before sweeping them under the rug with their own boring self-insert OCs. It's also much shorter than Marvel's Avengers, take that what you will.
And that's my issue with Ms. Marvel as a character.
It's not that she's a minority character that takes the spotlight, it's because she's a surrogate "quirky outsider" character shoehorned in to make an audience surrogate.

actually i just thought of something, technically the gear systems in X-men Legends and Ultimate Alliance are far better then this, because its not limited to just one character, you can equip it to all characters you have, and there are some acutally noticable effects on them, like sometimes one will add fire or electric damage to your attacks, or unique ones will actually boost most stats, granted UA 2 and 3 kinda loose that touch but you get the idea

You know, I've probably blown around 5 or 600$ on Warframe cosmetics but that's a game that has kept me pretty consistently entertained for 8 years now. Games like it really show the kind of dedication and patience is needed to foster a successful looter shooter and I don't think most AAA publishers have it in them.

I would argue that the combat is actually the game's biggest strength. The most fun I've had in the game is just the AI combat rooms, but there's really a lot each character can do aside from maybe Hulk. A lot of the more unique moves/enhancements are buried deep in the skill trees (or behind a paywall, like the finishers), because they want you to keep grinding through characters for a long time. Unfortunately, the game is very much tuned around being that co-op multiplayer style, so you are filling roles for MP sessions. Tank, DPS, etc. But the actual nuts and bolts of cracking endless robots in the face is pretty fun, at least for someone like me who plays a lot of character action stuff like Bayonetta and DMC.
I would genuinely love to play a proper single player game where you play with these movesets instead of what the game actually is, which is those endlessly repurposed open maps solving mini puzzles and refighting the same handful of AIM enemies.
Note: if it gets halfway decent after hundreds of hours, then it doesnt count
You know I feel like this game's campaign could have taken some cues from Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, namely having each level designed around each characters unique abilities to keep the experience fresh and engaging all the way through. 1) Hank Pym was undergoing a mental breakdown and as such wasn't thinking clearly when that happened.
2) Ever since that happened Hank has felt immense guilt and remorse for doing it and people still can't let it go.
3) IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ACCIDENT! Due to miscommunication between the writer and artist, the writer intended for Hank to accidently hit Janet when he turned around to point at her, but the artist drew it so that it looked like he backhanded her with all his might.
As a bonus, Spider-Man hit his wife, when she was pregnant nonetheless, but no one gives him shit for it, so why is Hank the only one who never gets to live it down?

I disagree about your idea of there being plot holes, at least those specific ones your bring up. Something doesn't have to be someone's direct fault, for them to feel guilty or bad about it. Guilt isn't exactly a logical emotion. For at least Tony and Bruce, their guilt was mainly because they approved the plan to work together with George and Monica to build the reactor in the first place, even if they didn't build it themselves. Which then they thought got Cap killed.
Apparently the total DLC now maxes out to $3000+! That means you essentially buy the base game FIFTY times to get everything!

Jadow, you should the 2005 Fantastic 4 movie game next. Despite the fact that they're a team of four, there are only like two or three levels where they are together. You usually play most of the levels as one or two of the four heroes, yet they have more group interaction than the Avengers in this game!

They recently added another in-game currency with units. Units can be acquired in-game from just searching boxes and they can be used to purchase cosmetics...but because the game still wants to milk you for as much money as possible, NONE of the skins that you have to buy with credits you can buy with units. The units are given their own skins that you can buy with them. And out of all the Unit skins...there is only one that I feel is good, that being a Mr. Fixit skin for Hulk. The other cool-looking skins? Like Ronan Hawkeye, Maestro Hulk, and the movie skins? You still have to pay the stupid microtransactions for.

You say the story is good, but then you pointed out that (1) it's copying a comic initiative people didn't like, (2) the Avengers themselves barely even show up, and (3) it has barely any villains and those who are there are uninteresting. You also noted multiple incidents of the campaign basically being padded out with repetitive missions. If the heroes aren't really there and the villains are lame, what is there to enjoy in a superhero movie plot?

The cancelled first person Avengers game would've been a better game had it been saved. But so far, the best Avengers games are Ultimate Alliance 1 The Lego Marvel games.
Interesting in regards to your comments about the games plot and thematic holes in regards to blaming the Avengers for something that's not their fault......... I have the same issue with Captain America Civil War, yet people constantly give that film a free pass.
Other than the Chitauri invasion most of the mass destruction incidents that the Avengers get blamed for did were their fault especially Sokovia. Tony was the one who made Ultron, Cap was the one who threw a hellicarier over a city, and Wanda was the one who blew up the building in Lagos.
Except the whole Hellicarrier was the fault of HYDRA infecting SHIELD, not Cap. And Ultron was Tony, the rest of The Avengers just cleaned up Tony's mess.
Also Wanda didn't blow up the building that was Crossbones who was just about to release to release a deadly virus to the world several years before China.

But man, there's a lot to unwrap from there. Demo being barebones, every button being jump (because from what Ekkk said, Square Enix said that players aren't capable of pressing more than one button), the final boss somehow causing seizures with an attack of his, one soundtrack that some says it was taken from Ghostbusters... And let's not count that the game was released the same day as Monster Hunter Rise, which didn't help Balan Wonderworld. Fun fact, it was created by Yūji Naka, aKa the old creator of Sonic, and the same guy that created Probe and Rodea the Sky Soldier.

Some things:
First, from my quick research, Monica actually is a character from the comics, debuting in 2005. Also, I think the return in the end was a clone. I might be wrong on that, so someone correct me.
Second, I do like that, for as bad as he's handled, they actually made MODOK somewhat threatening instead of a total joke like usual. And they actually included his pre-transformation self, unlike other Marvel series. The fight... yeah, looks like it sucks.
Third, I didn't know you aren't a fan of the Ultimate Alliance games. Why is that?
Fourth, jumping back to MODOK, this is just a guess, but maybe they wanted to do something different for the villain, since villains like Thanos and Doctor Doom get used a lot.
Finally, off topic, but I would SO love a solo Black Widow game.
Overall, watching the whole video, we have a classic example of a game that COULD have been good, but got completely crapped on because of corporate greed.
I haven't played much of the Ultimate Alliance games, but I played their direct predecessor- X-Men Legends 2- to completion. I just found the gameplay- particularly the combat- to be really dull and repetitive. And when I ask people why they like the game, the answer almost always begins and ends with "the epicness of the story"

I think a big reason why I have a lot of nostalgia for the first two Ultimate Alliance games was because I hadn’t really experienced most of the library of Marvel characters outside of Spider-Man before that, and I wound up getting immersed with the wide variety of characters featured in both games, particularly the first game having simulator missions that delved into each character’s backstory

I've been told that Monica has mutant powers where she can clone herself and MODOK killed her clone.
I think the idea was that Modok injected her with mutation goop to kill her and that gave her powers? Or maybe the cloning thing; I don't know and the game doesn't offer a single word of explanation.
@DLJadow Her clones have heterochromia iridium (meaning she has different colored irises in her case). If you paid better attention to her eyes, you'd notice the irises are differently colored.
@@roadbreach wait where the hell is that info shared in the actual game? is she actually a really obscure adaptation of some villain? a villain from the new comic lines that nobody talked about when the game was active? a random data log you can skip and even if you find it it doesnt actually tell you the info that its trying to tell you?!
Fun fact: they are now going to be shutting down the game, making every cosmetic free and just removing the live service part, and doing wierd currency conversions (refunds would have been better)
But Spiderman will still only be on the Playstation, fun!
And if everyones experience even starting the game was as bad as you, then yeah it was a red flag the entire time
local multiplayer and singleplayer will still be possible, but like if the game is that buggy, it will probably implode on itself day 1 after the shutdown

This could have been Injustice but with Marvel characters which would have made good money and given fans an exciting fighting game.
But no, they had to make it a cheaply made live service money milker with the intent to squeeze as much cents out of people as possible.....and they are surprised that people didn't want it and didn't buy it.
You think that might tell the game industry something. But they won't learn. They never do.
Even with the success of games like God of War and Star Wars: Fallen Order, most companies still believe that online service multiplayer games are the only thing that matters.
The funny thing is: when Anthem died we learned that EA was trying to force Bioware to make Dragon Age 4 another doomed live service, but after the massive failure of Anthem and the success of Jedi: Fallen Order, they've finally learned that holu crap: single player games are still successful!
But the question remains: would you buy this game if they do add Captain Marvel to it?
It would've been a more interesting game that whatever this is.

While that statement about old man Logan is true, Maestro is not from OML. He's a completely different character. Mainly from.future imperfect which the Hawkeye expansion is based on.

Even Angry Joe and his crew didn't like how this game came out, heck they were even puzzled why Sony's exclusive to Spider Man would come to the game SIX to SEVEN months after launch for Sony's own next gen console.

DLJ is right. Having played FF14 since launch I can tell you that 1.0 was a global EPIC FAIL. The ONLY reason why it managed a literal Phoenix Rebirth is because Yoshi P brought it back from its grave, told corporate sponsors, "It'll be done THIS way or I'm not touching it with a 39 1/2 foot pole," and managed by some miracle for it to work. It WAS lightning in a bottle and about the only time I've seen Squeenix use their brain rather their usual, "me like because lotza monies!!" As a result we now have an MMORPG that is giving World of Warcraft ACTUAL COMPETITION!!!! I don't see that happening for Marvel's Avengers which is sad, the game looks fun. Its a crying shame.
This and Anthem should be a learning lesson as to not shove in online crap into something originally made for a single player experience

Just looking back at this black panther and spiderman came out and the only Data-mind character that came out before they stop making new content for this game is winter soldier so she hulk captain marvel and warmachine where Data-mind alot side winter soldier but there never going to be released
My opinion Huge fan of Marvel but I’ll say Square-Enix it’s no Naughty Dog that’s a incredible company in but I just don’t like Square-Enix I mean they ruined all the guardians designs in there own game and basically copied the tell tale series a way better version in my eyes

Not sure it would've helped- Kate has a sword too. Several of his costumes are Ronin though.
