I just want to give a massive kudos to you for all of your hard work and ambition being so young. I wish I had that kind of tenacity when I was your age. I had ECs up the wazoo, but I let my grades slip to a 3.3 GPA and a 1260 in my SATs. I then had my children really young and did some college off and on. BUT.....you are never too old to get it together. My kids are now grown and out of the house and I got myself into a University online (I live in Southern California) in RI working towards my Masters degree. So kudos to you and to anyone reading this, don't be too hard on yourself and follow your life's plan. 😊

You had a 4.00 uwgpa for UC b/c it doesn't compute +/- in grade calc; additionally, your capped UCgpa was 4.40, which is the highest it can be. Therefore I can see why UCLA admitted you, b/c the UCs are grade intensive while being test-blind, and 55% of UCLA's freshman class had a straight-A uwgpa in 2021 which would/will include you, with the average being 3.92 (see CDS, 2021-22). If UCLA included SATs, 70% would have ≥ 1,400, so you're above the curve. I was just wondering how much college credit you can get at UCLA if you were to choose it, and if you chose somewhere else, I apologize for my tardiness. Your 2 on calc means you'd have to take two Calculus courses at UCLA for Econ. I think the way to go now is to dual-enroll at your local CC, and that way you can get lots of college credit, b/c I'm not sure how much you'll get by your incredible effort of taking APs in high school. Btw, if you choose UCLA, look into doubling or minoring in Stats and/or taking the Computing specialization. All the best!

@@erikrulkens1098 Let me clean up my response if this post takes, because I had hard time having it post -- I think what kicked it out was my mentioning another social-media platform. First of all, big congrats on UCLA, and though it doesn't have an undergrad b-school, the university is excellent in preparing students especially for business-sector, quant-related jobs, as well as placing students in top-tier MS programs in Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Quantitative Economics, Data Science/Analytics, Stats, etc., either through Business Economics or "BizEcon," Economics, Mathematics/Economics, or the six-seven Math majors, Applied, Financial Actuarial, Applied Science, Data Theory, Stats, Math of Computation, or pure Mathematics. The typically non-quant side, Marketing, Real Estate, etc., can be any attained by majoring in Sociology, Communication, History ... anything, with one more or less finding her/his own niche in these fields, by taking internships, joining clubs, UBS, etc., which one should do regardless. Other minors are Accounting, Entrepreneurship, and I've seen Sociology and Bio majors attach these concentrations. Econ also has a Value Investing concentration through the 10 106 courses, and some of the Management accounting courses like 142 A-B-C are modeling for those wanting finance careers. Besides, which, having an at least a rudimentary accounting background being important for these careers. Again, all the best.

yeah a 4.5 cumulative weighted gpa for being a sophomore is great! you should be in good shape as long as you keep up the grades for the rest of high school
