Children's Message: Jesus Cleans the Temple

What is true worship? This children's message considers what it means to respect God and His house, and to use the church for its true purpose. Law/Gospel Theme: Focusing on distractions of rules and regulations, or focusing on the wrong kinds of “idols” in our lives can clutter up opportunities for genuine worship. In this passage, Jesus asserted that HE was the true temple. While it’s important to honor and respect God’s house, we do not worship the church itself, but we worship Christ. He was angry at what was being done to the temple, but knew that He, too, would be beaten and abused. When we trust in and focus on Jesus, our lives can be used for their true purpose, service to Him.
