Absolutely love your channel! When using a 3rd party app like PASSIV, are you concerned at all with security having it linked to your brokerage account? I know it connects via an API and not supposed to be able to gather personal info i.e. passwords, etc..., but not sure how comfortable i would be. Just wanted your feedback. Thanks!
not sure about the ROC thing but I don't think Questrade uses it. it gives you your real book price@@twitchellmartis. I've been keeping my own sheets up to date by myself and it's the same average price. UNLESS I'M MISTKEN :)

Nicely done Adrian! Beside the portfolio unveiled video, now with how to manage the portfolio video, you are truly trying to educated us on how to take control of our financial future. 👍 My tracking sheet is based on your template. It's very comforting to see how much dividend I am getting each month across all 3 accounts. Thanks for doing this! 🙏
Hey Adrian, great breakdown...thanks! I noticed your RRSP accounts, even with the lower value, generate more income. Quick math gave me a yield of 34.8% on those accounts which is crazy! I would be interested to know what your total return annualized(as opposed to all time) on these accounts are. Which I guess I could try to calculate noting the values change from month to month :P
Hi Adriano thanks for another great video, Re: YTSL the book price above does it include the Phantom Distribution that was received at year end of $2.07 per share, do you adjust your book value to reflect? Reason for asking is that I just want to confirm that I'm tracking my ACB correctly Since at year-end I had 1000 shares I need to bump up my ACB by 2.07 so it when from $23.25 to $25.32 Thanks as always!! which broker are you using to buy all these etfs and since some are in US $ and some are CAD $ , how are you converting currency back and forth without paying 2% every time ?
Hi Adriano, it seems from the spreadsheet that you don't further separate your book price by book price for your cash account vs book price for your TFSA. Is the listed book price just an average then?
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting do you go into as much details as, for example, 500 shares in TFSA and 1000 shares in margin results in 1/3 of the TFSA book price and 2/3 margin book price? Or just half and half, big handful style?
I'm curious as to why the CRA would withhold 25% tax on ROC.I thought that ROC is not a taxable event until you actually sell the ETF. Am I missing something?
I am not sure of the context of your question but If CRA is withholding ROC at source, it's because it is unknown at that time that the income is ROC. Any over payment of tax would be offset later on.
Hi Adrian, thanks for this great video. I’m in the same situation, I’m not resident of Canada anymore. My understanding was that TFSA is not recognized in foreign countries, so you still have to pay witholding taxes for the income and capital gains coming from TFSA, can you please help me to understand this point? Thank you very much!!
Thank you Adriano. How do you manage the risk of your broker going bankrupt? Also, of much being many ETFs being managed by one company (e. G. Zega)? Thank you
I like this investing style and concept. What are your expenses for owning the covered call ETFs? Do you track the expense ratios and the amount paid each year in fees and expenses?
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting Gotcha. Have you done the calculations on how much it costs to run the investing strategy? I'd be curious as to how much I'd spend (not invest) to get the income.
Hi Adrian, I noticed your cash/ margin account is a joint account with your wife. Did you did to open a joint account on Questrade to transfer over in-kind from your Bank Platform?
Move to Mexico, the withholding based on the double tax treaty with the U.S. is 10% (and as long as you don't conduct business in Mexico, you won't pay capital gains tax). Canada also has a double tax treaty with Canada, I'm not sure what's the withholding from Canada to Mexico is, probably 15%..
Adrian, thanks for this information. When a covered call fund pays it's distribution, is it taxed as a dividend paid? Technically it's not a dividend. Appreciate your thoughts.

Can you do a video on margin buying and the benefits/risks involved, costs, etc... Would be a great video
Thanks for the video big brother! ...What do mean by broker reduces the "ROCK" while recording book price...I'm confused?
I believe he's saying ROC = return on capital, which reduces your cost basis.
@HowHingPau thanks for the reply...so ROC=Book price-Div earned...correct?!

they will adjust your ACB (book prices) . Usually in April. So if the FUND had ROC in the previous year, your book cost will be lowered by that amount

It will vary every year (and sometimes entirely different) at the discretion of the fund manager
