Painted horses was a thing in New Mexico a few years back. Carrizozo did a twist on the horses with painted donkeys. One of the painted horses is a Heart of the Desert Pistacios in Alamogodo for an example.

Thanks for the tour, John. That's a nice town. You're right about the police. I have never had a problem, most of the time it's your attitude that makes the difference. Many of my friends in California are LAPD and LA County Sheriffs.

8:00,5-22 I was in site 13 last October for the "ring of fire" solar eclipse. In my 13' scamp ( no bathroom ) with my wife & dog. The dog loves scampin as much as we do. Your videos mean a lot to us. Thanks so much.

The Rail was the main reason that Carrizozo came to be. I is the Lincoln county seat because every county seat in NM had to have the railroad.

John, you should hit the Tularosa Valley Museum in Alamogodo. Ton of history about the valley. The Eddy Brothers brought the Rail up the valley, Created Cloudcroft. Great source of history of the area. Also the museum in Cloudcroft is good to but hit that Tularosa Valley museum for a great overview of the history of the region.
