Evolve is an action video game with a focus on both co-operative, and competitive, multiplayer gameplay. The game adapts a '4v1' asymmetrical structure where four players take control of the Hunters, while the fifth player controls the Monster. The Hunters' main objective is to track and hunt the Monster in a limited amount of time, while the Monster's goal is to evolve and make themselves more powerful.
In the beginning of a match, a 30-second headstart is given to the Monster so that they can have enough time to escape before the Hunters parachute from a plane to where the Monster started. Each map features an open world environment for players to explore and play within. To help the Hunters navigate the environments quickly, they are equipped with jetpacks, allowing them to jump over obstacles and cliffs. The jetpack can also be used to dodge attacks performed by the monster, though it consumes a Hunter's energy. The team can track the monster, as well as place waypoints on an interactive map. The color of these waypoints are different based on what players have marked. The waypoint mark turns yellow for environment, orange for wildlife or red for the Monster.
The Monster needs to grow stronger in order to fight the Hunters by hunting and killing other local wildlife in order to gain experience points. When it gains enough experience, the Monster can evolve. Through evolution, the Monster's health bar is extended and refilled, and more abilities are available to the Monster, which makes it easier to kill the Hunters. However, the Monster is vulnerable during its evolution, and if caught by the hunters, the process is disrupted. The Monster can also enter a "stealth mode", allowing it to avoid detection by wildlife and Hunters.
Evolve features five different modes: Hunt, Nest, Rescue, Defend and Arena, which have different objectives for both the Hunters and the Monster. Evolve provides two different structures to these game modes: Quick Play, which starts a single playthrough match; and Evacuation, which serves as a five-match, multiplayer story mode. In Evacuation, each match gives the winning side an advantage in the next map, such as having a toxic gas the Monster is immune to, or autonomous gun turrets to assist the Hunters. The Evacuation mode ends with a 'Defend' match. Evolve also features an Observer Mode, allowing players to watch a match without playing in the match. The spectator can jump between cameras and view the match from both the Hunters' and the Monster's perspectives.
Normally, five players play in a standard round of Evolve, with four Hunters fighting one Monster. Playing with less than five players, including single player, is possible in all modes due to computer-controlled bots. These bots can control up to four of the characters, allowing between one and four human players in any game mode. Players can also switch to play as another class instantly in a single-player match.

@@pajucarce looks like the free version is dead... I got this from the internet: "On 2nd July 2018, Stage 2, the free-to-download version of the game, will no longer be available on PC. However, you'll still be able to play Evolve online via the peer-to-peer multiplayer in Legacy Evolve on PC and console. All players retain the DLC they bought, too. ... You can also party-up to create games."

man, watching all these randomly recommended Evolve videos really make me want to give the game another go
Just an FYI to you GhostRobo. Don't know if you'll actually see this, but take it from someone who's been playing Evolve from Alpha. sneaking is useless in stage 2. Juking is possible, but hardly effective. The planet scanner makes both EXTREMELY difficult to do. I used to be a stealth player back in the original Evolve, but stage 2 has been watered down to the point where finding and catching the monster is so easy you could do it with your eyes closed. Give up on stealth, its a lost cause. Stage 2 forces the monster style of play to run and gun
Yea it's.sad.it.came to this. But, planet scanner.is.actually your.friend my.manzzz..When.they scan you, go the other direction. they will never find you. I tend to look for the Reavers(monkies) they are always in groups of 4-6. right after a pack of digs spawn. just keep using game spawns to your advantage

First time i've seen elder Kraken, I like the way its abilities work alot, looks and sounds cool too
For me tbh Goliath was the best for stealth until the planet scanner. I was able to leap and hide in bushes and give off fake paths super easy and literally avoid all hunters until stage 3. Being able to be stage 3 and just sit in a big bush and walk right past them

god damn ittt, I miss this game. It had such a great idea, one of a kind. Easily competitive but still it's hard to win as either side with good players on both team
Looks nuts! Ace video. The craziest one I've seen in my short time with it is the Gorgon one.There were collective groans from fellow hunter in the lobby 😀

Actually, if you look just slightly below the blue bump, you'll see his eyes. They're closed.
I doubt that it really is his eyes, or he NEVER opens them.
grevous4 The "One True Eye" trope is not common but it's in many big franchises, wherein eldritch creatures close their 'regular' eyes and open a 'true' one- Jirachi from pokemon is one such. Those are the eye lids, sealed closed probably after many years of being closed- if you look at the regular Kraken, you can see how the lids fused together.

not really: i feel like kraken and goliath are the best and i love watching and playing them. i get super stressed when playing the monsters, though: wondering if they will attack me at any moment. but on topic: there is only 7 monsters, its not like he is losing opportunities to play the 70plus monsters. that's not greedy at all

i tend to stick to the ground as kraken and elder kraken unless i'm running from the hunters or fighting the hunters,use my abilities to get kills then poke at the hunters from the air

In the Process of Editing and Rendering Videos showcasing my Monster plays. The only Juke Training I could reccomend, is what I do. Perks, Haste, Mutilated Haste, Evolved Haste. Nothing but haste. Max them out. If I'm right, it totals out to about +53% movement speed.
1. On Behemoth:/ His roll is a tremendous traversal, because he is slow to begin with. Also MAJOR increase in his overall mobility. win rate- 13 wins, 1 loss
2. On Goliath:/ It helps his Traversal, and overall mobility. win rate-7 wins, 3 loss
3. On Wraith:/ Depending on what skin you have, for Camouflage, her starting movement speed is already fastest in the game. Increase that by 53%?... oooohhhh baby. win rate-16 wins, 0 loss
Overall:/ It greatly decreases the amount of time needed to feed and run away from hunters to evolve. All matches were less than 11 minutes on Wraith and Behemoth. At beginning of Round, run to south, wait for scanner, wait 6 secs, then book it in opposite direction.

I'm sad I never found this channel back when Evolve Stage 2 was available, I started playing only a couple months before it's end date so I never had the chance to dive into the game properly. If I found this channel when these videos were released, I would've had a lot of time to play and enjoy Evolve Stage 2.

When I played this game, elder kraken was the most unused by everyone in my vision however, when I played him, I played 67 games with him and never lost.

use grounder leg breaker and fly swatter with the normal kraken and fully max lightning strike for your main damage dealer its op af

Man, I missed the bus with this game when it came out, but I don't think I could play it anyhow. Looking at this video,sometimes I couldn't even tell what was going on. Half the time the screen is almost totally obscured by the monster's body and the cool lightning effects.
