It’s actually is legal though. You can see the plane just lifted off before the other one touched down. So only one plane was actually occupying the runway at a time which is legal.
@llcn829 True, legal doesn’t mean safe and I never said legal is safe However, in this specific case, it is SAFER for the aircraft behind to land. If they go-around, that would potentially put them even closer or in the path of the departing aircraft. If they can land, it is safer for them to land.
@sanestreak Rotate = they’re not rejecting the take off Note: the plane can go-around at any time before the reverser is deployed. Also note if rejecting takeoff at V1… the plane would stopped at near the end of the runway. I don‘ see how it can be worse. If the plane behind go-around, that would put both plane on a potential collision path and both plane would be in a blindspot of one another. They would both need to rely on ATC to provide the separation.
he couldve saved it just panicked and gave full throttle slamming to the ground and losing his grip otherwise he was on a clear path to just land let it glide down a few more feet
@Erodenmark Shouldn't have been cleared to land until the plane ahead was airborne (US does things differently) and there just wasn't time ... either the clearance wasn't given, or it was in error.
On #1, yeah the controller messed up, but so did the pilot landing. I don't care what the controller tells you, if you see another plane still on the runway, you go around.
"Both crews claimed they were following the clearances by air traffic control" HELLO~? I just hope all of you reading this see the GLARING problem in that statement. I would ask those crewmembers "If ATC told you to fly into a mountain, would you do it? Folks, you simply cannot make this shit up!
I agree! It is a Pilots prerogative to take evasive actions when needed! Go around if you see the runways is not clear...then tell the tower you are going around.!
@Miles_High1 No, it is a pilot's DUTY to go around when there is obviously someone on the runway. If there is an airplane clearing the runway when I am at 500 feet I am EMITTING PROFANITY, but if they are not clearing and still rolling, AROUND I go~! There is no reason for ATC to get us this close on final. 5 miles is fine, 4 miles is marginal, but three mile separation? I've loaded PROFANITY into my mouth, am ready to deploy it loudly, and have the Go-Around paddles under my thumb..... There's no reason for this.
thats just the failures of the english language, a "near miss" can mean both a hit that was nearly missed and a miss that was nearly a hit, in this case its the latter. "near miss" aka a miss that was near
@0110-n6xno it isn't. Literal meaning of near miss has no ambiguity whatsoever. It is a stupid term, just like 'getting on a plane' instead of 'Getting in a plane'. Thanks George Carlin, you will be forever missed.
The Mumbai clip wasn’t that crazy. The landing aircraft couldn’t have caught up and collided with the aircraft ahead, which became airborne right before the behind Airbus touched down
@YG-YTPerhaps I should have put in a smiley face or slash s. I’ve never seen anything like that. Ever. That would be his last takeoff (with me) if I were Captain. Unbelievable.
Whaaat that first clip is beautiful, they should have given an award to the air traffic controller instead of standing him down that timing was impeccable 🤌
Why and how should the pilot of the plane in the front see the plane approaching from behind? And why would it be the fault of the plane in the front? Just curious...
Why are they called 'bird strikes'? To strike something is an offensive action - I'm pretty sure the birds involved are not deliberately aiming at the planes, they're likely to be just flying around in their sky minding their own business. Is the plane doing a defensive strike Iike in martial arts? I doubt it... Find another description "plane hit" "human created obliteration of innocent avian"?
For goodness sake write rational English, "20 Worst Plane Near Collisions" or did they actually collide while nearly missing, Near Miss is a total wrong term conveying the opposite of what was intended, correct term "Air Miss" which means two planes nearly hit each other but actually missed
Well since you know so much, go after the ones the clips are credited too and tell them they are wrong or lying about filming the planes landing in residual winds of a Typhoon! If you get so pissed off about it then don't watch 'These Channels" !
It was trying to beat the wind and rain bands. When weather is on the way they stack them in quick and hot. You should be around a busy airport just before a storm front arrives.
Well if you actually listened to what Lucaas said at the start, these 20 clips are from his past videos....so of course they would be previously viewed clips...
Granted, these types of videos aint viewed for accuracy, but ffs, the narration is over the top full of shite. 1:52 pilots decided to continue the flight cause the wing didnt touch the runway. 2:11 these planes battling a typhoon in Taiwan? Oh, really? There are wind turbines operating just fine.... must have been high localized typhoon.
For one, these are near "accidents" not near misses. Second, some of these are straight up accidents. Do you people not understand this guy profits off of us watching clips he has pulled from other parts of the internet? and he sucks at it.
First off, there's no such thing as an near miss. You're just making s*** up. THAT'S IMPROPER ENGLISH LEARN HOW TO SPEAK IT. A COLLISION IS A NEAR MISS.
That rudder input at V1 must have felt absolutely wild.
too much coffee
"Hey guys, another 5 of our friends were killed. Let's make an effort this time NOT to fly by airplanes!" -Birds
That's awful
That first one, the controller had their timings pretty much perfect...... if safety margins did not exist.
Fr
Definitely, but was still suspended
The Mumbai clip is just insanity. Clearance doesn't mean for you to do something stupid.
It’s actually is legal though. You can see the plane just lifted off before the other one touched down.
So only one plane was actually occupying the runway at a time which is legal.
@tonamg53legal doesn’t mean safe.
@llcn829 True, legal doesn’t mean safe and I never said legal is safe

If they go-around, that would potentially put them even closer or in the path of the departing aircraft.
If they can land, it is safer for them to land.
@tonamg53 had it been a rejected takeoff it would have turned out to be wayy worse
@sanestreak Rotate = they’re not rejecting the take off
Note: the plane can go-around at any time before the reverser is deployed.
Also note if rejecting takeoff at V1… the plane would stopped at near the end of the runway.

1:58 "Runway" isn't the first word I would use to describe that landing zone
he couldve saved it just panicked and gave full throttle slamming to the ground and losing his grip otherwise he was on a clear path to just land let it glide down a few more feet
If that's the standard then he never really veered off, since the whole area is the runway
Indigo Air India incident is just foolish.
India in general, is very low skill. Thats why we outsource to them, right? Right?
why is the ATC suspented? the plane behind is clearly in the wrong?! and the crew on that plane is blind
@Erodenmark Shouldn't have been cleared to land until the plane ahead was airborne (US does things differently) and there just wasn't time ... either the clearance wasn't given, or it was in error.
No. It's corporate greed.
Its the efficiency of indogo systems 😂😂😂😂😂 dont say its foolish . Savings seconds matters profit margins
Another fantastic video Lucaas.
I love supporting small creators
Huge respect to the pilots and air traffic controllers who prevented these near misses from becoming tragedies.
Respect? In some cases ATC and pilots caused the near misses
This is like pulling someone up after pushing them down and making that person respect you because you prevented them from falling
Funny, since no planes collided, it can only be described as 'near misses'. And many aren't even that!
5:27 That's the bek air 2100 incident💀
the first one was crazy, how could the pilot continue landing with a plane 100' in front of him! ATC clearance has nothing to do with it.
AI
Ever sat in the cockpit? Pilots don't see runway.
0:51 looked like that tire went "Pop!" 🙃
Hehe
:) it should've bursted
0:30 , it's just a very efficient way to use a runway.
3:36 literally just flew the A350 in game with the same Cathay Pacific livery AND landed on Gatwick literally an hour ago, what a coincidence.
video 2. bro casuly drifting a plane!
Good compilation.
Thank you.
5:45 the pilot tried to dodge the bird?!
6:50 the Piper here seems like the clip in this video that's closest to actually crashing, that was scary
Tried Dodge a bird 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can only think it was reflexes. They probably jumped from it coming into peripherals and turned the yolk in response 🤣
That easyjet A320 reminds me of western 2605
Good thing earth is motionless. Forgot the flat part also.
There was like 3 near misses and the rest were minor bird stakes and botched landing.
On #1, yeah the controller messed up, but so did the pilot landing. I don't care what the controller tells you, if you see another plane still on the runway, you go around.
Ultralights crash so often that I'm pretty sure that's just how they land.
Other name: Death trap.
Be careful out there!
The first one really wasn't necessary since the Indigo was clearly honking to the plane in front to get out of the way.
6:49 I don't think he was "struggling to take off." In fact, he was so good at it, he did it 4 or 5 times!
Stark difference in Mumbai vs Louisville airports evident.
3:27 holy toe scrap lol
Reminds me of, "Never go bungee jumping in Mexico. They just don't have the regulations."
Or California where regulations are ignored and not enforced
0:30 No air traffic controller has the final authority over the airplane.
thats crazy seconds is a matter of life or death
Lucas see if you can find some more warbirds close calls 8).
Fun fact: The horns in the first clip were actually from the aircraft...
1:45 - No, it didn't, just mighty close.
Yes it did 😂
It looks close, but I think all it did was kick up a little bit of dust
0:16 this is normal at perth AP WA
What ever happened to "Flying the Friendly Skies"?
It's a risk just landing and taking off. 🧐
That opening scene...
If that's even real, the pilot following is ripe for jailtime.
Great video brother from the imperial County California 😎🇺🇲👍
go around BOAH 🤣🤣🤣🤣 poor german guy almost jumped at the pilot from the bushes
No birds were harmed right?
Poor birds.
That vehicle on the runway reminds me of Mr bean😅
He tried his best to avoid the bird 5:46
❤❤❤❤❤ BEAUTIFUL 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

0:20 bro hes unable to go around so the pilots dont care
The mgmt penalize them for delays, obviously. Safety not a priority for Indigo top brass.
3:50 BJTV...Get well soon Jerry. Look forward to having you back a.s.a.p. Son.x
"Both crews claimed they were following the clearances by air traffic control"

You assume he could see it
‘’A near hit, not a near miss.’’ George Carlin.
What kind of ATC allows 2 aircraft on the same runway😂
indien.... enough said
They say it's safe to fly😮
Not near misses, near hits. 👍👍👍
It Is Not A Near Miss. It is a Near hit. A Hit Is A Near Miss.
Lol yes. And a missile is actually a hitile...
thats just the failures of the english language, a "near miss" can mean both a hit that was nearly missed and a miss that was nearly a hit, in this case its the latter. "near miss" aka a miss that was near

@IvarMeijer why on earth are you telling me this and not the guy who wrote the comment lmaooo
Very nice🙏
The impact of turbulence would be critical if the following airplane was small
Until the lead plane is flying, it's not a concern. Before that, no lift means no vortices.
Falcon hit 2 birds, not only 1. The first at 5:49 and the second at 6:00 .
Near misses or near crashes, that's the question.
No, it isn't.
3:09 kinda like air Canada flight 143
i dont think the plane so much as suffers a bird strike as much as the bird suffers a plane strike. planes continued, birds not so much
Interesting way of putting it
Looks like me in gta
The Mumbai clip wasn’t that crazy. The landing aircraft couldn’t have caught up and collided with the aircraft ahead, which became airborne right before the behind Airbus touched down
I guess you've never heard of wake turbulence...
There's the risk of the plane in front needing to abort takeoff. If that was the case it would have ended very differently.
And you where there???
3:49 Ah, the screech of that insufferable self-appointed expert that hangs around London Heathrow 😖
Near misses? How about near collisions?
First one is normal
Near miss is stupid naming. If it nearly missed it means it didn't miss
Falcon's wing did not touch the runway. 1:40
Those are near hits ; not near miss.
Near misses ?
I didn’t see anyone hit……??
Isn’t a near miss, a hit ?
No wonder they have problems. 🙄
Why is this a near miss? Its a near hit. Be happy it was a full miss.
1:08 The Southwest could have landed safely.
It’s always the same crap they never last if they run out that’s it what a conn it doesn’t work 😂😂😂😂
A near-miss is a hit, right?
😮
Hi
These are near hits/collisions not near misses.
altralight...runway...??
What is an accidental rudder input?
Pushing the rudder left by mistake
@YG-YTPerhaps I should have put in a smiley face or slash s. I’ve never seen anything like that. Ever. That would be his last takeoff (with me) if I were Captain. Unbelievable.
✈✈✈✈✈✈
Whaaat that first clip is beautiful, they should have given an award to the air traffic controller instead of standing him down that timing was impeccable 🤌
Thats a near hit, not a near miss.
滑走路上には、1機しかいちゃダメなんだよ。
The air india had a stuck throttle switch
No crash. Not one. Why the misleading title?
The two pilots from the first clip should also be suspended. Dont they have eyes?
Yes glass eyes 😂😂😂
Why and how should the pilot of the plane in the front see the plane approaching from behind?
And why would it be the fault of the plane in the front?
Just curious...
@CaptainCrazy94maybe he means both Pilots from the landing plane
@Strichmaenschen I guess you are right that could be what he meant!
@CaptainCrazy94its more likely he was being a smartass
Why are they called 'bird strikes'? Whatever you say
Ryanair 😂😂
(3:21)
🇮🇩
Not near miss. A near hit. If it near miss then you Fking hit it
The Southwest pilot is useless
This, This and This. Crap voice over, nah never watch this crap again.
Otra razón más para no ir a India 👍🏼
For goodness sake write rational English, "20 Worst Plane Near Collisions" or did they actually collide while nearly missing, Near Miss is a total wrong term conveying the opposite of what was intended, correct term "Air Miss" which means two planes nearly hit each other but actually missed
I hate how these channels lie and say bullshit about a typhoon. These are not typhoons believe me a plane would not be flying in a typhoon.

The German comment is terrible...AI voice!
Looks like old previously viewed clips to me.
Well if you actually listened to what Lucaas said at the start, these 20 clips are from his past videos....so of course they would be previously viewed clips...
@Miles_High1Must've been watching on mute...😂
AARRGGHHH. That voice IS soooo annoying. I HAD 2 turn sound off. 🤯
Its AI slop
Granted, these types of videos aint viewed for accuracy, but ffs, the narration is over the top full of shite.
