    FYI, I bought the Dizzy Dunker based on your video. It's catching mice like crazy. They love the peanut butter. And, when I accidentally knocked my newly acquired Dunker onto my concrete floor and broke it, the company sent me a new one, no questions asked and no cost. Great product. Great customer service.

      A cylinder would work better than a flat plate. There are also rotary slip ring connectors available. Using a rotary slip ring means the wires to the sensor will never tangle. By using a rotary slip ring, the cylinder could be made to spin freely several times when triggered, ensuring the mouse will always be caught.

    • @ameyring
      @ameyring 2 месяца назад +1

      Or make it longer, but then it might bend under the weight of mice.

    • @c0mputer
      @c0mputer 2 месяца назад

      @@andymanaus1077would make it more expensive for maybe not that much gain if the wider plank works. Maybe just a little longer wires and have it flip 180° and not 90°. I’d try that before changing the design.

    • @AsthmaQueen
      @AsthmaQueen 2 месяца назад

      I'd recommend rounding the edges in like fusion 360 like large rounded lips that they can't grip on

  • @denismccluskey6657
    @denismccluskey6657 2 месяца назад +30

    Maybe have that plank twist 180° to ensure the mice can't hang on to the edge.

      yeah, I was thinking spinning motor for a few seconds rather than this type (cheaper too) ... funny!

    • @LiraNuna
      @LiraNuna 2 месяца назад +7

      Rotating 180° may cause the wires to tangle which will decrease reliability, so a new design has to accommodate that. A slip-ring may be a good solution here.

      If you coded the servo to go from one extreme (200ms) to the other (100ms), it could turn 180°, but only in one direction, which would probably be fine.

    Does the counting light use the moving platform itself as a signal to register that the mouse got dumped? Since they took so many tries to get the mice in, maybe the sensor counted 6 mice instead of just 2.

    People always make mouse traps too complicated, this one is a big FAIL. You need to dispatch Deer Mice, they carry the HantaVirus! There is no such thing as native and non native species, it all depends on how far back you go. Because if you go back far enough humans aren't native to the America's either.

    • @Muladeseis
      @Muladeseis 2 месяца назад +1

      I totally agree. I'm not an ambientalist and I love when a mouse needs to be dispatched, but the argument of doing it if it's not a native species seems silly. I think that invasive mice have now enough predators and are not out of control.
