No masterpiece grade figure should ever have a single pelvis flap.

It's a little eerie. I just bought Rig off of Ebay and it's even got the same off-center decal...

I think the backpack on fanstoys is to small it's not wide enough. Other than that it's pretty much perfect

It's all about preference...yes FT has amazing paint & toon accuracy but its the only "new" version to date so advantage FT...I look at how long BC held down the spot as a praise to that design...when it takes FT to be the the brand that makes ppl even consider replacing u, u win to me...but even a bargain MP collector like me admits that FT is amazing!!!

All 3 look great but their is something really nice looking with Badcubes Huff head sculpt, quite catching.

You missed out on including XTB Krank in the comparison. I LOVE the realistic truck mode there! I never liked the fact that G1 Huffer looked so toonish and unrealistic in truck mode, so I don't really find value in a toy that adheres closely to that look either. Therefore, XTB continues to fill the Huffer spot in my collection.
Best I can tell, the Mysterians truck that became the G1 Huffer truck was loosely based on an '80s Ford Cargo yard truck. It is by no means an exact match, but it's close in terms of being a boxy, small tractor truck. If you look at these three figures' truck modes, I think they kinda-sorta look like that, if you don't look too closely.
XTB just said "no" to that ugly boxy look and went on a side tangent with a more curved truck called the '70s Dodge Commando Mk.2. Too bad they left the truck cab so ginormous and left the rear wheels exposed in bot mode.
I think it's awesome that we have so many options for the quintessential whiner character. He must've really resonated with these toymakers when they were growing up!

Always thought the Cubex Huff 1.0 was the better looking BadCube product. The truck mode was even more realistic looking. Problem was QC was kind of a lottery, which thankfully I had a winning ticket.

I'm definitely not picky with the mini bots as they were just meh characters in the cartoon and in design. I have no issue with having the Final Victory version as it doesn't look so G1 cartoony. I really like the look of Hasbro's Kingdom version and it would be cool if someone had KOed it and made it oversized.

To be fair, Bad Cube's Huff was going for the real world vehicle look instead of the cartoon look.

Still prefer my Final Victory for bot mode just because it's how I picture the character and I like the extra height in a truckbot. But the alt mode is trash.
I have the FT for alt mode, it just looks gorgeous.
That Final Victory 3 Pack was a bargain. I still think that Warpath stands up but the Brawn had a lot of problems.

The Final Victory has another face sculpt as well. You take the helmet off, and then spin the head 180, put the helmet back on.

This is kind of an unfair comparison, the Final Victory is a cheap alternative that isn't really in the race for Masterpiece style competitors, and Badcube Huff is from 2014 (Before the Masterpiece line was extremely toon accurate heavy) It's like comparing X-Transbots Perceptor against FansToys Tesla 1.0. having said that, Final Victory actually looks the closest to Huffer in vehicle mode. None of the others have the same shape on the truck bed, and they are aiming for real world truck, Huffer (like all minibots) is a chibi-fied version of a real world vehicle.

    • @TMReviews
      @TMReviews  2 года назад +3

If FansToys had not made Tesla 2.0 then I would have compared Janssen to 1.0, it's totally fair to compare competing products at least in my opinion, either way I know people find benefit in watching these so I will keep making them regardless of the age of figures

Badcube Huff was released in 2017, so by then the toon aesthetic was in. It was Cubex Huff that was released in 2014 and this figure isn’t as toony as it’s Badcube successor.

Thanks for confirming what we all knew, and too bad Xtb couldn't be involved as well! But Prime only gets that kind of spotlight I guess🤣.
Anyone owning MP-10, BC Huff would be the best bot for the spot. I don't and never intended to get the toy styled MPs to begin with. Which ended me collecting for several years. Then MP-44 caught my eye, and the rest is history.
With anime editions springing forth from Takara Tomy, Fans Toys, and XTB. My passion was rekindled! I regret missing a few, but looks like us Fans, are going to get the best to come now FTW!
