Just bought an UP here in Australia. What a great little car. Unfortunately we don’t get the GTI version which is sad as I am very impressed with the capabilities of such a small car. I don’t even really find the 1 litre that slow it keeps up with daily traffic no problem and is great on fuel. Main reason I bought it was my daughter can start to learn later this year and she wants to drive a manual.
It’s all subjective, but I do prefer the stock wheels. VW did a great job with the standard wheels. Did you weigh them? I’d assume they’d be much lighter?
I’m picking up my brand new UP GTI silver tungsten on Tuesday. I live in Looe, Cornwall and I wanted a small car for the windy roads. Great wheels guys 🤞
Love these wheels, I agree with the black and red centre cap will look good on the car, only thing I would do is probably have the wheels gunmetal grey or black but that is only my opinion so please don’t take this as a negative they still look amazing congrats 👍
Hooray, worth waiting for! The new wheels and tyres look ace guys. Are the OZ’s noticeably lighter than the standard Oswald alloys? Bet it handles even better now in conjunction with the Eibach springs. Hope to catch you at the Motorist again and see new shoes in person.
If you had one in each hand then yes massive difference in weight, cant really tell once they are on the car. Tyre/spring combo is great though, properly transformed it 👌🏼 yeah will be down over the coming weeks now the weather is brightening up mate!
I had Goodyear Efficient Grips and was impressed. They seem very lightweight but were actually tough, quiet, economical and handled well. I accept that the Michelin's are probably the ultimate though. There are some test results due out any day now.
I have my black UP GTI on some OZ Superturismo GT matt black 17`` with continental TS (yeas they are my winters), and i have to say OZ is such a good choice for a small car. What are you doing for an exhaust? personly im looking at a scorpion
I've just bought the up gti it has 195 Goodyear on them def going get 205 michellens next will this improve when going over bumps etc one the I'm hating about the car slowing down to 10mph on every speed bump used to going over at 30 on my golf lol also the ebaich suspension would that help there is speed bumps everywhere I live
Looking good, how does the car ride on the new PS 5’s and how much did you pay for them, I’m after some for my 2020 tungsten silver Up! GTI, your right the Goodyear Efficient Grips are poor, no grip and hard riding, liking your mods so far, it would look good with some red GTI badge overlays, under a tenner online, I have them on mine👍
I’ve got one in the same colour and the stock wheels are my fave sorry to say. There are blinking heavy tho when I’ve had em off so the drive can defo be improved , stock tyres are alright I’d go tcs delete before big changes
Yeah I dont mind the stock wheels at all, similar to the ED35 Golf wheels but the boss wanted to change them so that's what we did! TCS barely comes on now with the PS5's, worth bearing in mind.
I think a small visual touch, might be to replace the plates with a red bordered pair. Makes a great feature. I’ve just replaced my Euro plates with the red boarder, through Halfords.

Yeah for everyday driving the Goodyears are spot on, 65mpg all day too. But for a more involved drive the PS5s are just a different league!

Yeah they work so well! Just not the cheapest. If we get an exhaust it will definitely be BCS

Car rides superb, was around £360 for the full set. Im thinking this aswell as a slight de-chrome is in order!
I just love TE,s to be honest and would of looked better (maybe too JDM?) but these are great but i would of liked boring black instead haha.
what is involved with tpms on aftermarket rims? Would I need some sort of programing at a vw dealership?
We didn’t have to do anything mate, apparently its not in the valve on an UP? Best off asking a garage if you’re unsure on yours 👍🏼

Unbelievably sticky compared to the old tyres, how much different they are to ps4 I couldn’t really tell you. Sidewalls look cool though 😂

et37 all round I believe, rears could take a 5mm spacer but fronts fit flush

Should have different wheel bolts as the oe vw ones are radius seat, aftermarket wheels are always taper seat

Those carbon caps are pretty cool IMO, but also not the cheapest to buy I don't think.
Yeah they do look pretty good. The ones we have are original caps just with carbon stickers over them so may just get the same again?
