I think there is too much gatekeeping and resistance to things that would be objective improvements to Path of Exile that new and existing players would like, but for some reason, are still not in the game. Like why is there no identify all feature in the game - even one that would use scrolls in your stash? Why is there no in-game gem browser with filters and support gem information? Why does the game drop so much loot? Why am I seeing items drops in Maps that could just as easily be found in early stages of the campaign? And why does this game have so many inventory issues even when the player does use a loot filter, always making the player teleport back to the hideout during a map run - a run that should be relatively small and fast? For example, why do i need to pick up a 6-socket armor just to get 7 jeweler's orbs from a vendor when you could have just dropped more jeweler's orbs and take up vastly less inventory space? Why is re-specing so difficult prior to maps? There's so many easy wins to make the game better for new players and existing players, it's kind of crazy that no steps are taken to address these things. Don't get me started about trade, path of building and all of this other nonsense. I gave up on this game some month ago realizing few things: I will never build character the way I want it and strong cuz to survive you gotta follow premade builds in order to play, 2nd thing is most people cares for 'get rich' stands in game caring for trades instead of playing, 3rd thing I was always alone, doing quests alone was fine tho in endgame it was both hard and boring oh and last thing I got tired of all skins to be pay to get except very few exceptions (this one from league was to get from all labrynths levels done alone and greenhorn as me wasn't able to get it) I think they made this game too much for old players, leagues are to play by making new character only (I thought I'll make my main char and will have fun but nope, it's about making new ones over and over) kinda weird and too hard for me too, I had one friend in game which promised me to help in endgame but turned his back at me. Loved the game but it was too much for me and being free to play means your char will look poor and dumb and you'll never have enough space for stuff and won't be able set stuff for sale.
You are so right :) Not to mention, there are still players using the old launcher too instead of steam. So like I mention to dude in the video, his vocal chords are just messed up. Clearly... the video.
At the end of the day player retention will almost always be like this, you get a league too casual then people who play a lot more quit earlier you get a league for more grindy players the casuals quit meanwhile there are people crying about the fact that 64 dead bodies in a graveyard to craft borderline mirror tier items is too much lmao
And it seems the majority of people in this comment section are of the latter, super casuals who maybe get 10 div into a build then quit and complain that the league is bad Mageblood and headhunter are more accessible than ever Scarab changes make it so increasing loot drops from your specific preferred content is simpler You can make multi fractured items and just all round crazy items in the gravecrafts Only complaint about this league is betrayal is now a joke mechanic
POE problem is thatbit is getting harder for new players to get started. League after league top players create these huge dps builds so GGG nerfs them and then make the content harder as you progress. This is a huge issue for the new player to overcome where the top players will figure out some ways to get around GGG changes but the build cost goes up and up. Minion builds are easy for a new player to learn the game like i started but league after league GGG has nerfed the sh*t one minion build after another. Then i went to RF build and that got nerfed. I am sure GGG will nerf Holy Relic cause it powerful and cheap to build and GGG dont want that. They want you to grind for mirrors to get a monster dps build to do end game content. So of course the game is not fun for new players and some skilled players are leaving cause of the stupidity of GGG.
i dont know why you need mirrors to beat endgame. i got two builds, neither cost a mirror and both crush juiced t17 content. get good bro, stop the whining.
@dali1384 where did you see in my comments that I was having issues with POE endgame? I was talking about new players which I am certainly not. Why don't you learn to read?
You realise that if ggg didn't nerf builds that everyone would play the same build every league and player bases would die out ? They nerf builds to bring them in line with other builds and so that new builds can shine for one league Almost all non gimmicky builds work to some extent but mana stackers and coc detonate dead probably won't be string next league ite to push people to play different things and insentivise them to play with the new items and uniques
@i_lunarr you are just as clueless as Jonathan and Mark when it comes to balancing the game. GGG not only nerf builds, the go from one end of the dps spectrum to another. This is not balancing anything but literally just killing the build entirely. Then, on top of build nerfs, ggg buffs the mobs and nerf rewards. If you say these nerfs are for balance, then why are the nerfed build go to die in the 10 million dps range and you have armor stacker builds doing 1.5 billion dps. That is just lopsided as hell. And why do some build go many leagues as the top meta before nerfing, and you have some builds that only see a few leagues before it is nuked. It hard to argue with the majority of players who are upset with nerfs, quality of leagues and the grinding getting worse. Well, I am off to play my armor stacker build.
@@GhostPepper233 i never said that the way they nerf them is good, i simply said everything needs to be nerfed and buffed in order to let other builds shine, they have killed many of my faviorite builds to the point where they do not function anymore. my point was that the nerfs are necesary but not all nerfs are treated the same some skills are killed off and some skills are hardly nerfed at all the changes to minions not being able to shotgun ruined spectres, the changes to power siphon recently made all wanders worse,, its necesary to nerf things but the way they do it is wrong yea

Loved the game but it was too much for me and being free to play means your char will look poor and dumb and you'll never have enough space for stuff and won't be able set stuff for sale.
wot?
TLDR: This game is not for you and that's fine. Games are meant to be played and different people play differently.
Steam is a small portion of their playerbase because steam has slower loadtimes than standalone
And it seems the majority of people in this comment section are of the latter, super casuals who maybe get 10 div into a build then quit and complain that the league is bad
Mageblood and headhunter are more accessible than ever
Scarab changes make it so increasing loot drops from your specific preferred content is simpler
You can make multi fractured items and just all round crazy items in the gravecrafts
Only complaint about this league is betrayal is now a joke mechanic
They nerf builds to bring them in line with other builds and so that new builds can shine for one league
Almost all non gimmicky builds work to some extent but mana stackers and coc detonate dead probably won't be string next league ite to push people to play different things and insentivise them to play with the new items and uniques
@@GhostPepper233 i never said that the way they nerf them is good, i simply said everything needs to be nerfed and buffed in order to let other builds shine, they have killed many of my faviorite builds to the point where they do not function anymore. my point was that the nerfs are necesary but not all nerfs are treated the same some skills are killed off and some skills are hardly nerfed at all
the changes to minions not being able to shotgun ruined spectres, the changes to power siphon recently made all wanders worse,, its necesary to nerf things but the way they do it is wrong yea
why pick up POE when POE 2 is supposed to be coming out? stop releasing crap leagues and release the next game. too much bloat too many systems too much everything. cant even be bothered anymore.
Poe 1 and 2 are different games this league and last league are amazing improvements to the game and overall accessibility to getting what you want and if you don't like the systems then don't interact with them, there is literrally an option on the atlas tree to disable them smh
Poe got too grindy and hard even for 5+ year veterans of the game, let alone new players. This is not sustainable, game will slowly decline. Many leagues in recent years showed absolute ignorance and how clueless poe devs are nowdays producing one horrible league after another.
Exactly my point, even if you know the game still needs a lot of time invested.
The game has never been easier... people used to get stuck at yellow maps
I started in Affliction...I almost quitted. The game is hard for new players...even if you follow guides and youtube vids (which I did a lot). I knew i was getting in to. But still it is soooo hard to learn. I didnt stop, because someone started to help me after i asked something in General chat (turned out to be a fellow Dutch man). He had to learn me soooo many things. Now i can play okayish en its fun....still know i have to learn sooooooo many things to even be getting average haha
@@sierinlang When people got stuck in yellow maps the Shaper/Sirus was the end of the game. Now you have 10 more layers of endgame the average player will never touch.
@@NotYourBusiness-bp2qn wdym? All thats added are t17s.. the ubers gated beyond them are still the ubers from atlas passive last league.. i understand the average dad gamers that plays 2hrs a day will unlikely beat them.. however in the grand scheme of things the game got too easy thats why most players quit after a month.. we ran out of things to strive for.. like ie.. i get mb in 2 days time unlike before.. to farm hh its about a week or so with 8-12hrs of gameplay
They will not market POE 1 cuz they will shoot in the foot with the new POE 2 game , new people will come to POE 1 and then leave then when POE2 come they will not even try cuz they already "see what is about" from their perspective
2 different games!
@@leaspauli7807 yea............ that's the point ..... if you change the 1 to a 2 you didn't expect to have a 180 degree change ..... that's why marketing poe 1 is a shoot in their own foot for poe 2 future .... poe 1 is so dense and with a lot of things that guess what new player will think to have poe 2 at release .... Bro use your brain please
@Jarot_TV they are 2 completely different games with different mechanics and gameplay though? I enjoy poe 1 and will probably not be playing poe 2, it's not an overwatch situation
@@i_lunarr and that's the point ...... not everybody knows is different cuz for them is just a continue of the poe 1 ..... thats why I am saying they are probably not promoting POE 1 cuz dont want new players to be overwelmed by the massive ammount of content it have that makes them not even thinking to play poe 2 cuz "THEY" will think is the same , NOT WE!!!! WE already know its a diferent game but THEY DONT!
