- On Pocketnow Daily, it seems Apple's Vision Pro made Google pull project Iris out of mothballs. Rumors of an M3 iMac point to things making an exciting shift whenever these get launched. We have the first details about the chipset of the iPhone 16 series. Finally, the OnePlus Open is official, and is more affordable, more ergonomic, and has better cameras than most.

Given that Marques already has dead pixels on his Open and that OnePlus isn't exactly known for good customer support, I'll pass.
I've watched several videos today on this new folding device from One Plus, and I think it's a legitimate competitor to all the other ones out there

I feel the dead pixel on mkbhds unit is a deal breaker.
It is only out to reviewers and the unit had a fault which is a little concerning
The lack of good Cameras and no Wiresless charging makes Sammy still Number One.
@thesidkhanna any phone can have issues. Samsung had exploding phone batteries, iPhones had overheating issues. You can see over 50 reviews and only 1 had dead pixels.
I really like the design of oneplus open and features. I would buy it if it was a bit cheaper
It sure looks good but I am happy with my Google Fold. I may have gone toward this if I hadn't already gotten it though. It looks really nice.
I think Iris looks good. It's far more practical and would obviously be far cheaper too. Something I would actually use more than just a few days after Christmas and then only when my fam visits, which is how VR headsets go for anyone I know.
Excellent device! The outer display looks like gold. The only things holding me back from my Fold 4 are the lack of under-display camera at the large screen & the lack of a stylus.
Mine is on order.
i’m in to try this foldable but what can you guys tell us about the app support? hopefully its better than the pixel that almost not even googles own apps wouldn’t support continuity

As a 15 pro max user, that open seems like an absolute boss. It would never replace my main device but I might use it as a work phone

I pre ordered the one plus open today in voyager black. I tried my first foldable last year with the fold 4 but returned it was it was too narrow for me... And did not really justify its 2k price point (once you condiser case, charger, storage upgrade, etc.) Im hopeful that oneplus has hit gold with the improved aspect ratio and its agressive price point. Im also super happy with the fast charging.. 67 watts is 3 times faster than samsung or pixel.. yes please.
It was sold out when I tried. Guess it's not for me. 🤷
@@Strikerage it's not really sold out. They just limited the pre order number... From a marketing perspective it creates a sense of demand... It will be available for order again in a couple of days. (Currently shows 4 but I would not be surprised if sooner.)

@@Strikeragepre-order is back on but they dropped the trade in values by about 1/4 for the oneplus 11. $800 down to $610.... that changed my mind. I have the Fold 5, so I'm not too upset. Would have liked the larger cover screen.
@@carlbrenda6518I ordered mine yesterday at official launch. Got the voyager black, they gave me 690 for my iPhone and did an additional 200 savings so in total I got 890 off the 1799. But there were no free headphones with my order.
I cancelled my pixel 8 pro pre order because of this phone. I originally thought I'd like the Pixel but I'm coming from an LGV60 ThinQ dual screen. (I traded in my LGG8X dual screen to get the deal). The plan originally was to get the Pixel and trade it in when they had the Pixel 8 pro cameras on the the Pixel Fold 2 but I don't know how long I could live with going back to a single regular candy bar format phone.
I feel much better in my choice. I can't wait till Halloween when it comes in.
I also bought the Pixel Watch 2 to replace my Fossil Gen 6.

If the price was more reasonable to an average person I think foldables would be more popular than they are but at least for me none are in the affordable range.. nice phone though.

for that money I would expect 1TB of memory. Not everyone loves cloud storage.

Of all the weird things my telco does, they occasionally do something good too like bringing in Oppo Find N3 ("fold") to my country. Now im semi curious on what's the difference between OP open vs Find N3.
As oneplus and oppo have the same parent company... This time around they used the same device and just changed the color and the branding.... That's it. So for Europe, USA, India, Canada, etc... It's called the one plus open in green or black. For Asian markets it's branded as the oppo find n3 available in a pearl white/goldish color. Obviously they change the logo on the back of the device but everything thing else in the hardware and physical features of the phone is the same... The only second difference is the software... Oppo uses Colors OS while OnePlus uses Oxygen OS. They are mostly the same with exception of theming and the respective oppo or one plus branding... So when you take all that together... They are the same phone with a 1:1 match... A smart strategy to get a foldable in the west market.

The public will never buy into Foldable until the prices are greatly reduced.
If, as numerous reviewers have stated, you use a foldable phone in the closed position ninety percent of the time I just don't get the point.
Paying more money for a form with poorer screens, battery and cameras with redundant features.
Good for one plus now Samsung needs to step it up with the z fold.
Ive got a z fold 4 and one thing Sammy does that Google and Oneplus dont, is that the inside screen and the outer screens can be arranged differently from each other.
But Oneplus is gonna make Google and Sammy step up their game!

The should stop ruining every screen with those punch hole cameras, they should bring back the pop-up cameras and give us the clean full screen experience like we had on the OP7 pro.
From other creators they say the camera's are so so and for the price wireless charging should be there.
I also know that, with all these foldables out now, Apple is copying all their homework, PRO-actively!!!! 🔥🔥😂😂😂😂

I like the One Plus Open. - The problem is I'm to deep in Apple land... I'm surrounded by AirTags. My wife and I love Find My. Everyone in our circle has an iPhone, and we all use AirDrop all the time to trade photos. We all play games via iChat and a bunch of other iChat features. Facetime all the time. - 6 people on our iCloud One services. - Switching is just to much of a pain.
I’m not likely to get a foldable until Apple releases one but I gotta admit OnePlus has nailed it with their OnePlus Open foldable with its specs.

I am very Happy One Plus has entered the US market and the phone is incredible but just like why i would not buy a Samsung or even a google is because of the price. They made a Dream phone in what i have seen is some of there software and what they can do with there hardware they hit the nail on the head but the Marketing part makes me feel like the $ 1500. price is what the phone would cost and mabe should cost for the spects but still expensive as we don't know how durable it would be . Just seeing the dead pixel after 3 weeks is concerning from one review i saw.
if they say it was $1500. and with the trade is thing knocked down to $1200 maybe i would jump on the Phone .
I like the google fold form factor with Samsung OS best. I don't know why Samsung insists on that tall form factor really. 😬😬🤦🏾♂🤦🏾♂

For me apple is just so boring now, they don't give any bang for buck. The Oneplus Open is a terrible name but yes, proper competition for Samsung. I have a z fold 3 and I think the Oneplus Open is my next foldable! Cheers.

I think Foldable devices will become more popular to the common people,not just the entusiasts after Apple comes out with their own Foldable device .. which will cost 2000+ $ :)) then most of USA will open their eyes and start to appreciate the foldable devices

The only "insane" thing in it is the RIDICULOUS PRICE for what is OVERSIZED GARBAGE hardware without BASIC FEATURES like expandable storage and a headphone jack.
