This video is an older video that has been revised. In this video we demonstrate the reduction of the radial head subluxation for two different patients.
A huge thank you to your patients and guardians for allowing such videos! It is always great to be able to not only see what is being done, but hear what is being said as communication is so important in all patient care.
OMG, this video is a life saver! You saved me a 6 hour weight in emergency room. The first technique worked like a dream and he was back to normal in 5 minutes.
How wonderful of you to post a video like this to help parents. My little one was having issues and i followed your video and it helped tremendously after only 5 minutes it’s like he never had an issue!! I’m blown away. God bless
So so so helpful. Saved my little guy a trip to urgent care. Thankfully my wife is a nurse and immediately knew *what* happened but had never done the fix herself. Told me to RUclips it and boom.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! The second technique you used on the first patient popped my 2 year old daughter elbow back in place. What a relief! I watched other videos but they were not dealing with a real patient so your video was more valuable. To see you actually place your hands on a real 2 year old patient made it possible to replicate the technique. My daughter thanks you and I thank you again!
Thank you!!! My son just had this tonight and we tried your method first and he is happy and playing again!! Saved us a trip to the ER- Thank you thank you!
Thanks for this video. As an EMT in my past life I have reduced a few dislocations, but my daughter just had this happen to her again and we didn’t want to wait in the emergency room on Memorial Day. Life saver, thank you.
Thank you thank you! My husband just did this for my 1 year old daughter . The first time this happened she had to go to the ER and it just happened again so I figured it was the nurse maids elbow again and sure it enough this worked! You saved us from a long night at the ER. Thank you 🙏
Lord thank GOD for this video. Just helped me with my grandson. He is brand new now. I was freaking out until I found the video and instructions. He cried for a few seconds and is now on a walk with granddad like nothing happened. I’m subscribing.
Thank u so much.. My baby's hand hurt so much at noon that he couldn't move his hand. I watched this video and after such treatment, 10secend latter my baby now full good. And now she playing hand ball.. Thank for uploading this video.. Really thank u so much.
Dr mellick great content and very informative video ,but gently reminder to the families and relatives dont try to do it your self as it might seems easy but it should be done by a pediatric or emergency physician the reason is that it could be another underlying issue or nerve compression or even a fructure which obviously in case of fructure if manipulated wrongly it might cause permanent damage. Hats of to you dr and alot of respect from Tunisia
Thank you sooooooo much! Our little boy had this issue before and we ended up at hospital. So when it happened again today I knew what it was but wasn't sure of the correct technique. Watched your video and it worked first try!
This happened to my son the first time cause he almost fell down and I caught him by his arm, took him to the er and he popped it back in place on his own before the doctor got to see him. Now it happened again tonight while I was cooking and he was in his room distorting it and I just heard a loud scream like a hurt scream and I knew what was wrong again cause he wouldn't move is arm. I did this and I felt two tiny little pops and he was crying while I did it and now he is using it. Literally took seconds for him to be normal again. Thank you so much doctor.
Just copied this video moments ago on our daughter who was presenting just as the little girl does in this video. It worked first time. Heard a little click. She was back to using her right arm within 5 mins as if nothing happened and all her crying and discomfort stopped instantly. Thanks so much !
Thank you for this video! I have four kids and three of them have had nursemaid elbows, I’ve always had to take them to the doctor to correct it. The first method we tried several times on my 1 year old and it didn’t work, the second method worked the first time we tried it.
Thanks aaaa lot doc my daughter she is 1.5 year old n had this last night i also started crying because this was the 1st time since in our life my son is 7.5 years pld he never had anything like this n went to pediatric but they said to concern another doc n we were scared i watced your video at morning 4'0' clock n thought to try but i was scared n my hubby also at last i took the name of the God n did once n it worked like a magic for us thank aaaa lot it helped me soo much
IT WORKED! Thank you for helping us fix this! We've dealt with it several times over the years, but never knew how to fix it. (We watched the video with our toddler and gave them a popsicle just like the video.)
Hello! I am in my didactic year of my PA program and I was taught that the wrist supination along with the forearm flexion should be done quickly. I noticed your movements were slower. Is there a reason why you chose to do it this way? Thanks!
Interesting. I've never heard or sensed that speed makes any difference. My goal is to be able to feel the joint pop back into place. Maybe the hypothesis is that the faster delivery, the less pain to the child. Not sure if that is the case.
Thank you so much for posting this video! I called 18 clinics with no luck. All clinics closed and ER was absolutely packed out during this Christmas period. I watched your video and followed exactly how you did it and let me just say, it is sooo good to see my little one smiling again!!! Thank you!!!
Twice I watched this vid to help my 2 yr old. Thanks! Also @youtube can we NOT have commercials for these vids. Maybe earning a little less won’t bankrupt u?
Is it normal for kids to not put a lot of weight on their arm after this technique? They did this to my kid at the ER she's moving her arm a lot more, but I notice that she's still not putting weight on her arm. I'm hoping it's just sore and it will go away in a few days.
@@lmellick thanks, I’m going to do a follow up with her doctor again in two days to make sure is nothing more serious. At the ER they said it was not fractured but they didn’t take any X-rays.
I was surprised the second little one was able to still reach with the arm that needed the reduction. I take it there are varying levels it can move out of place? The first girl obviously couldn't use her arm at all Both little ones were absolutely adorable! 😍

@@lmellick Hmm... I suppose it might be to prevent resistance from the child. But thanks, now I know the speed is not significant

There is sometimes residual soreness. Try some ibuprofen. However, if the mechanism was a fall or some other trauma, an x-ray is indicated.

What doctor will I see in such a situation?
Many different physicians, various levels of training and specialties can do this procedure as well as physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
why is it all them brother's getting the elbow pull ?
As someone who got nursemaid’s elbow 6 times in my life, I’m glad to know what to do for my children.
Nice doctor it was work 🙏 thank you

Did they happen to take xrays bf this ?
No x-rays taken.
When little kids get a dislocated elbow your in a lot of pain
