    Thank you, thank you, thank you! The second technique you used on the first patient popped my 2 year old daughter elbow back in place. What a relief! I watched other videos but they were not dealing with a real patient so your video was more valuable. To see you actually place your hands on a real 2 year old patient made it possible to replicate the technique. My daughter thanks you and I thank you again!

    Dr mellick great content and very informative video ,but gently reminder to the families and relatives dont try to do it your self as it might seems easy but it should be done by a pediatric or emergency physician the reason is that it could be another underlying issue or nerve compression or even a fructure which obviously in case of fructure if manipulated wrongly it might cause permanent damage. Hats of to you dr and alot of respect from Tunisia

    This happened to my son the first time cause he almost fell down and I caught him by his arm, took him to the er and he popped it back in place on his own before the doctor got to see him. Now it happened again tonight while I was cooking and he was in his room distorting it and I just heard a loud scream like a hurt scream and I knew what was wrong again cause he wouldn't move is arm. I did this and I felt two tiny little pops and he was crying while I did it and now he is using it. Literally took seconds for him to be normal again. Thank you so much doctor.

    Hello!
    I am in my didactic year of my PA program and I was taught that the wrist supination along with the forearm flexion should be done quickly. I noticed your movements were slower. Is there a reason why you chose to do it this way?
    Thanks!

    • @lmellick
      @lmellick  Год назад

      Interesting. I've never heard or sensed that speed makes any difference. My goal is to be able to feel the joint pop back into place. Maybe the hypothesis is that the faster delivery, the less pain to the child. Not sure if that is the case.

    • @luisamartin662
      @luisamartin662 Год назад

    Is it normal for kids to not put a lot of weight on their arm after this technique? They did this to my kid at the ER she's moving her arm a lot more, but I notice that she's still not putting weight on her arm. I'm hoping it's just sore and it will go away in a few days.

    • @lmellick
      @lmellick  Год назад

      There is sometimes residual soreness. Try some ibuprofen. However, if the mechanism was a fall or some other trauma, an x-ray is indicated.
