I'm 17 days away from moving to Puerto Vallarta and just can't wait! My plan involves remote work with my job and putting effort into my RUclips channel. I'm close to full retirement age and will have enough to live well in PV but not in the US. This is why I'm moving. Plus there is the beach!

I discovered Puerto Vallarta quite by accident in june of 2018 . Came once . Returned 6 weeks later , found a big villa and gave them an offer .. gave away all my personal belongings back in Boston as well as selling my home in 2 days .... then in November on thanksgiving , i moved here permanently ... it was the best decision ever ! Never looked back

@@YesItsMeGuys68 We're feeling that way as well. It's early for us, but so far no regrets!

$2500/mo for 2 people including "owning the house" ... I don't get that part. Does she mean the $2500/mo includes the mortgage payment on the house they own, or does she mean they own the house outright but still spend $2500/mo without having to make a mortgage payment?

Good question, I could not figure it out either.

The house is paid for. No house payment. Virtually all of the homes in Mexico that are purchased by expats are cash-only deals.

Our budget includes expenses pertaining to our house (such as repairs, add-ons, insect treatments), the yearly cost of the trust and the property tax. $2,500/mo also include expenses like US forwarding mail service, property tax/HOA of our property in South Dakota, gifts to our families, donations to charities, supplies for our hobbies, our insurance policies, medical out of pocket, and so on. Only our travel budget is separate.

@@RJ-ot7jt Wow, thanks for that info. Sounds like $2500 really goes a long way in Puerto Vallarta. Here in Vancouver, BC USD $2500 would cover about half the annual property taxes on a house.

Have yet to come across a source of online income that wouldnt drive me nuts... Cant work for pesos, thats for sure...might work near San Diego and just live across the border...

About USD 8,000 and this was the cheapest moving company we found. Other quotes went up to USD 13,000 for the same service.

Budget $10/sqf. We came in less than that, but it will help you focus on what to bring and what to leave.
