Please keep up the good work, your lessons are truly amazing.

    Oh man I love this guy, I just found you tonight and I love these videos while listening to Babymetal :)
    It helps that I've always been infatuated with Japanese culture and language, I love how they seem to fit entire phrases into single words and how 1 word in Japanese can have so much meaning. Not sure how to describe that feeling I have about the language, hopefully someone understands :)

    • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  8 лет назад

      That's partially because we use Kanji, which is a letter and can be a word, and it often contains many meanings and inferences.

    Hehe, so Japanese actually know the answer to the age old question: "What Does The Fox Say?" :P

    Fun fact fodr viewers, ninja were real and during the late warring states were sent to kill the future shogun of japan; Tokugawa Ieyasu by Ishida Mitsunari, after the latter was defeated, Ieyasu had Ninja to defend his castle for him.
    No evidance has been found that ninja wore black, they were often portayed in black due to japanese theatre representing black as "invisible" while its not inconceivable they might wear black, no clothing exists from this time in black that can be attributed to ninja, while paintings and other pictures might show ninja wearing black because they did, or to reflect that they were hard to see, and well camouflaged.

    • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  7 лет назад +4

      There are some ninja museums in Japan and they display things related to ninja. Must see.

    • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you for watching. No, Kenji is not my name. In those days, a Japanese journalist was captured by IS terrorists in Syria, and his name was Kenji. I hoped for his release, but to our great disappointment, he was finally killed. Too bad.

    Oinotie are a "refrain" yes?

    • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  7 лет назад +1

      No, ainote is a backing chorus or a shout inserted into a song.

  • @MacTaipan

    So, since the verbs nabikasete and doronshite are connected to yuke (via the te-form), is it correct to translate them as imperative as well? (And please feel free to speak out or ignore me if I'm asking too many questions. You probably quit making videos for a reason, so you needn't feel compelled to spend the time you saved for answering my questions).

    • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  6 лет назад

      Yuke is certainly in an imperative form, but those words in -te form are not exactly imperative. They refer to "co-occurring" situations. So the whole phrase should read, Go as you letting your hair fly in the wind, Go while you pop and disappear.

    What do you feel are the seven different appearances that the lyrics imply? I know it is only speculative, but the number seven seems specific and I am sure there is something behind it. Just curious as to your opinion.

    • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  8 лет назад +2

      Well, seven means Perfect or Infinity in the Bible. Maybe the same here?

    • @tawnkuimi-uru7212
      @tawnkuimi-uru7212 8 лет назад

      Duane Metal I am not a Christian nor really of any definable religion, but what you say does make sense.

    • @frostieguitarist
      @frostieguitarist 8 лет назад +1

      Tawnku Imi-Uru ""Shichi-henge" is literally "seven changing" and usually "changing seven clothes" (in a short time, in a traditional drama). This word suggests that a girl looks very different (cute, elegant, etc) in different clothes, and may also suggest that girls are capricious, based on a song "Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge" sung by Kyoko KOIZUMI, 1984." • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  8 лет назад +1

      Don't worry, it doesn't make much difference. In fact, there aren't much meanings to those words after all. :-)

  • @jessikascarlettweber6122

    could not chiki chiki refer to something like "chick" or to be "chic" ?

    • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  7 лет назад +3

      Well,,, I don't think so. I think it's just the sound with no meaning. It's like chiki chiki Bang Bang.
