all these tips are absolutely amazing . I have a competition in my school for which I have to make a ppt and I am going to use these effects. they will really help me a lot. thank you too much for making this video its literally a saviour
@@WillStinton thanks dear. I use powerpoint but keynote has astonishing feature . I really need keynote For my teaching. By the way, thanks for your valuable tutorial video.
Hey I just want to pick a little bit. Using sites like Dafont is good for educational settings and at home, but if you are using this slide show to pitch a business logo or something, as a business, you can get in trouble. Some fonts are samples or personal use only and if you are running a business or representing one, without a commercial license for the font, you can get in trouble. Odds of getting caught? Might be low.. But the consequence if you are, you will likely be fired and fined or sued by whoever owns the font. Just a risk factor I feel the viewers should be aware of, and I really wish more content creators made their audience aware to this risk. Aside from that, I would also like to say this was an excellent video and it really helped me get a better inspiration for a sideshow I'm working on and I will definitely have to find a way to look into using the magic feature you mentioned.
Cody Johnstone in my recent videos I talk more about copyright issues, but there’s a number of teachers who follow this channel so they’re in the same boat as me with access to copyrighted stuff. You can use the stock fonts within Apple programs royalty free, and they do a good job of providing new and cool ones when updates come out. But if you make pitch decks in keynote, maybe I’ll make a video on pitch deck design but some of the stuff in this video applies so I’m glad it helped!
@@WillStinton Awesome tutoring and very cool slides!! Can i ask if it is ok to use images from google for our presentations use and putting on the RUclips? Thanks!
Coaches SuperLeitores thank you! 🙏🏻 conceptually, PowerPoint can do everything Keynote can. I find Keynote to be more user friendly and PowerPoint more technical
You'd have to play the video on one slide and have the words build in then build out to make room for new ones. Totally possible, sometimes I use animated GIFs as the background on slides
If you go File, Export To, Movie it'll give you export options to make your animated chart into a video file that you could drop into Powerpoint. Off the top of my head that's the first way I'd try to do it
I really like the tips but I hesitate to share this with my students because of the blithe manner in which an image search was used and images taken with no consideration of copyright or creative commons. Designers work hard to create the art for video games, just as any other artist works hard. I, in my turn, work hard with my students to ensure that they respect copyright and use search engines effectively so as to make the effort not to plagiarize. It's so disappointing to find a useful, student-friendly tutorial that my kids could learn from but which overtly describes why the presentation creator deliberately chose coyprighted work, making sure to omit brand markings, and didn't appear to cite the source either in the Keynote presentation or in the tutorial. If you do end up continuing to make these videos, it'd be great to see you incorporate searches for creative commons materials into the tutorials! The time and effort you put into making these tutorials and sharing them is much appreciated.
Triya Smith I showed how to do 2 of the 3 things I talked about in this video, just not Magic Move because it’s a bit more complicated. I did link the Magic Move video tho!
Filip Kachnic Karlsson I have been thinking the exact same thing recently. I stopped making these videos months ago, but I think they really do help people (especially teachers) so I should keep making them. Stay tuned!
Day15Productions PowerPoint is equally as powerful as Keynote, perhaps more. The thing is it’s just more technical to learn, especially to do cool stuff.
Will you please share how you did the Founding Fathers slides? Really interested in how you set up the presidents and then when you select one, the information comes up. Is it all Magic Move? New to Keynote here.
Lalaine Rimonte hey Lalaine! Yeah I used the magic move transition to do that Founding Fathers animation. I made a separate video on how do that right here: ruclips.net/video/9fIiJFEW8c0/видео.html
Great information and examples, but please apply that artistic talent to your videography - your lighting cast shadows on the wall, the audio sounded like you were trapped in a steel drum. Love your Keynote work. Make the overall video just as good and the sky is the limit. Thanks and good luck.
Jim M thanks for the critique! I’m a professional with keynote, but an amateur with video lol. I’m getting better at it though. I appreciate the kind words!
Custom fonts can be an issue for me. University's tend to use Windows which rarely recognise the custom font. The PC then chooses a font that never fits.
Tony Cruse both Mac and PC custom fonts you install are on your computer only, so what I do is I use my own computer for the presentation I’m giving (I don’t access the presentation from someone else’s computer just to use it).
Thanks Will. I have found some University's are a little paranoid about having someone else's computer on their network plus all the cables are pretty much hardwired in (from their PC to their Projector).
Tony Cruse I had that problem in grad school so I literally told professors that presentations they assign will continue to suck unless they accommodate better, and they did!
good vid, but pls put your hands in your pockets! if you gesture like a madman for *every* *single* *word*, then *nothing* gets emphasized, and your actions draw focus from your message.
You're the man! These 3 tips were all super helpful.
You’re welcome! I’m glad they helped 🙏🏻

That’s so awesome, I’m glad this helped you out! Good luck in your competition too, I hope you kill it!
Making my transition over from ppt to keynote and this just got me so excited to try. Thanks so much!
Sarita G awesome! I switched from PowerPoint in 2012 and haven’t looked back, Keynote is awesome
It is so amazing.
Does keynote work only for mac? Windows does not have keynote?
mehrasa tarahomi yeah Keynote is a Mac only program, PCs have PowerPoint. I know people who bought Macs simply to switch to Keynote tho!
@@WillStinton thanks dear. I use powerpoint but keynote has astonishing feature . I really need keynote For my teaching. By the way, thanks for your valuable tutorial video.

very helpful! Thank you!

ADARSH MISHRA Keynote is for Mac computers only, it’s the PC equivalent of PowerPoint. Keynote comes free with any Mac
Great make a playlist
Your teaching is incredible.
Is there any way to create sections with some slides as possible in PowerPoint?

Liked it.
How do you use one video for all slides and change only the writing or lyrics??

0:38 how can I set pictures as round shape like that ?
Drag and drop the photo into Keynote, click on it, then go to the top menu Format, then Image, then Mask with Shape, then Oval. Hope that helps!

Switched from one video with this background music to this one and threw myself off.

downloading fonts from the internet does not qualify as custom fonts.
