Drawing the cuts and making them are 2 different ball games for most people who havent done this before. Not to mention theres no room for error if you want clean sheets put up. The mold thing however you are right, unless they treated the concrete before

People seem to be blown away by basic drywall application, there isn't really anything professional about this. No vapor barrier so damp and mold will destroy the drywall, jigsaw to cut it... what are you doing? As for getting the cuts everyone is aweing at, its basic measuring. If you cant do that you shouldn't be anywhere near drywall to begin with.
It's an internal wall no vapour barrier needed, Its called "dot n dab" you use a dry wall adhesive to stick the board to the wall, There's no chance of mould or damp destroying the board, You Americans really are stupid
Haha .. Ive been to a few rodeos. You think it’s faster but you are making less movements by not bring the sheet up the stairs and lifting it into place, marking it then taking it down. You then have to do all those movements again for the second time after you’ve cut it. As for accurate… it’s gyproc not origami 😂 Good luck though 👍

I guess But it’s better to measure and write your dimensions on sheet rock. If you have a laser level/ level use that as reference for vertical measurements and use your tape measure for horizontal measurements. X for horizontal Y for vertical Use a drywall t- square for beginners Mark each measurement one by one Use a drywall router preferably or a drywall jab-saw for someone that’s a diy
I do this regularly and yes you do tear a lot of tapes lol! I found I generally had to buy a new tape every 6 months (drops, snaps, left on site, coworkers getting grabby) anyways so it ends up being worth the extra wear and tear

most professionals would of layed the board down starting from the ceiling down so if there's any cutting it would be near the floor also would never use a jigsaw to cut with
As a joiner, if had a £1 for every time I had to sort a plasterers rough work out then I’d never have to work again! The roughest n most unprofessional trade going
He did add in an extra step. Used the square twice when he should've just used it once and scribe the mark with his knife instead of using the pencil first.
Rookie. Real drywaller would have thrown his tape up got all his measurements and cut it on the ground. Have never seen a person cut wallboard with a jig saw.
Just get your measurements and make the cuts, you could use a drywall router to make the cuts and you can do all that with one guy, someone is holding the sheet while he does all of that.
I think he already got the stair shape in the other sheet, make sure pattern matches next portion of stairs, then use it as reference to layout the next sheet
This is so much more complicated and time consuming. The jig to use on the risers is nice but one you get those, you should be using a t square to get the treads, not a smaller square. More accurate. Then let's talk about using a jigsaw to cut this out. Much more time consumption and crappier angles, than say... A drywall router? Lol
Why didn’t he drop the sheet down a few stairs to mark those horizontals? Why not use a level to ensure the cuts match the angle of the risers and treads? A box router also works for those cuts and I wouldn’t need to carry two power tools. Where are we that mold does not form behind the sheets?

This is on a foreign country. It's plaster backing. Not drywall. The entire building is made from cinderblocks and cement.

They apply globs of drywall mud such as general purpose to the back and it holds the sheet to the concrete.

You don't need to measure each step. Just measure the lowest one upto the sheet and use that to mark the rest.
The steps should all be the same height, but that doesn't mean that they are!
