William Garfield Pickens ,my high school English teacher back in the early sixties,was a Morehouse Man,class of '48.He returned there as a professor of English in the late sixties,and served as chairman of the dept for several years.Dr.Pickens was the best teacher I ever had in any subject.When he recited the Aeneid,the class could hear the chariots thundering down the road.After all these years,I think of Dr Pickens often.

Actually, if you had researched to find out if your statement was true, you would have found this statement and the fact checks that was partially a lie. Byrd was never the Grand Wizard. He later left the KKK; however, he did talk about joining the KKK was the biggest mistake of his life. Byrd was a member of Congress of which he held a lot of power. He was a democrat with conservative views. Obama also spoke at Bryd's eulogy. Robert Byrd stood with Joe Biden when Biden buried his young daughter and wife who were killed in a car accident. Even Mitch McConnel spoke at his eulogy. "Republican Senator Lindsey Graham: "Senator Byrd was a valuable ally and worthy opponent. He will be viewed by history as one of the giants of the Senate.""
