Even after all of those years Major Dick Winters is still sticking up for his men (Blythe). What a leader he is and a example for all to follow.
Absolutely…amazing example of a leader.
He was a veteran of 3 wars and gave his last measure in Vietnam.
Sorry I rel replied to the wrong comment.
He was a true hero in Korea
@@ferngorbutt9698 Blythe died in Germany of complication from a perforated ulcer. Wikipedia does not say that he went to Vietnam.
As an ex member of the British forces, it’s so humbling to see the respect you guys have for your armed forces. America you lead the world, respect to you all.
I love this. Have worked with the British Military many times. Love you guys. Thank you for watching.
@@WalkwithHistory it was my pleasure, a very professional and informative post.
Much respect back to our cousins across the pond as well 🙏
@@scottthomas4779 relationships built on mutual respect, only produce good things, we stand as one .
First of all thank you for your service to your country. I for one have nothing but respect for you and the men and women you served with.
My heart is deeply touched each time you visit Arlington. All those headstones. May we never forget their service and sacrifice to this nation.
100% agree…so glad we could visit them and share their stories. 😊
But it's also inspiring to be around so many heroes and their amazing stories. I got with a list of veterans I want to visit but as you are walking around you come across so many other veterans and their stories. It's an amazing place.
Just at Arlington National last Saturday, visited Blithe and Guth graves.
That’s awesome. Nice time of year to visit. Thank you for watching.
I cannot explain in words how much respect and how thankful I am of these men that gave me and everyone I love and everyone in Europe the freedom we may enjoy today.
We fell the same way, Thank you for watching.
Today I didn’t waste my time. I watched this video of our nations greatest generation being honored. You young lady have done a great service to the old salts who still care. I sure like that the wives are buried there as well. Names of “two that became one, forever etched in stone”
Thank you so much. It was an honor to pay them a visit and honor their lives.
I'm a Navy veteran from the 60s and as I was watching this it came to me that I am eligible to be buried at Arlington. Then I suddenly realized I am not fit to be buried in the same cemetery as the men and women of this caliber. RIP Heroes.
That is how most Veterans feel, thank you for honoring these heroes with us.
you absolutely deserve the honor.
You are indeed fit to be buried at Arlington. God bless you.
The pilot that dropped E Company Col. Donald G. LePard is buried in Arlington. While not a "Brother", it would be great to see Uncle Don remembered in this way. Great video thanks!
Good call!
I was blessed to become friends with Forrest and his wife. He was a wonderful man.
😊
Thanks for the information on .Blythe
Our pleasure! 😊
Especially nice to learn a little more about Sgt Blithe. Thank you.
Happy to honor these men. 😊
As a retired Para, I feel near to all those who lost their life in a war. I have never been to Arlington, but I met the graveyards of WWI and WWII. Everytime I come to tears after carefully inspecting the Tombstones of those dead soldiers. They were mostly young, often lost their lives before they have reached their 20ies. What a shame and sorry….. For me, they are all Brothers to me. Boys I surely will meet you…
🙏🏻
Janna, Thank You for your service, time, and commitment to honoring these heroes!❤️
Thank you for watching. We are honored to make these videos.
Grew up doing living history in E/506th (93-2000's)so spent a good amount of time with many of the Scallywags of Easy esp Wild Bill & Babe. now having talked with Bill after that ep. #3 aired even he said that they though he didn't make it cause no one had heard from him and he didn't attend any of the reunions.
So Joe Muccia who was the 2nd unit CO of E/506th Reenacted is working on a 4 book series that will cover ALL those who severed in Easy so that will have a crazy amount of info. he also has his podcast "Were Not Lost , Private" & his tour "The Path of Easy Company Tour"
That’s amazing! We’ll have to look that podcast up. 😁
I have to say what a great job you are doing. I was there to pay my respects.....coming from Holland........ But the way you made this video just needs to get all the respect....with the story behind from Mr. Dick Winters. It made me so emotional. So I just want to say Thank you. God bless America
thank you so much for the kind words. we're glad to we get to share these heroes deeds with the world.
@@WalkwithHistory That we never may forget 🫶
never 🫶
Ma'am, just wanted to say you do an OUTSTANDING job on your videos!
Thank you! 😊
I watched this movie more than 15 times.
Still like to find a day for once more.
Respect and salute From Sri Lanka those who were in that regiment (EC Company)
Does Anyone else notice the headstone behind Col Strayer? Belongs to Col Duval....was in WW2, Korea and Vietnam. Damnit boy, what a hero.
Thank you for keeping the truly greatest generation alive.. my father, his two brothers and my mothers father all fought in World War II.. my wife’s 102-year-old uncle is one of the last surviving D-Day soldiers and was at Normandy for the 75th anniversary and was on Fox TV.
What an amazing family heritage you have. Thank you so much for commenting about that! 😊
As a Canadian veteran all I can say is
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
God bless all who sacrificed
🙏🏻
Thank you for doing this so the ones like me who will never have the opportunity of seeing these heroes ourselves. Also that you for setting the story straight on Albert Blythe.
I truly appreciate that. Thank you for watching!!
This is the best WWII movie I have ever seen. I see it every Memorial weekend.
😊🙌🏻
I have see this as well as the tomb ov the unknown soldier and kennedys grave. As a retired soldier it moved me very much.
So glad we could honor these men and thank you for your service. 😊
Thank you for your wholly respectful sharing of the final resting place of so many heroes. So the reserve 'chutes really were brought home for wedding gowns. How incredibly symbolic that was.
Pretty neat 😊
Thank you so much for this video. I did not know there are Easy Company veterans buried at Arlington. I am a big fan of the series, and I have and read all the books about The Band of Brothers, including all the books by the men themselves.
I am so glad you watched and got to visit some of the men at Arlington!!! Thank you
Thank you for sharing. USCG VETERAN Radioman 🇺🇸 Salute
Thank you for your service 😊
Rest in Peace Brothers. 🇺🇸
Amen. 🇺🇸
I was there again last spring. Thanks to you I have a great new opportunity when I go again.
😁🙌🏻
Been there a few times. It is a truly humbling experience.
Absolutely is
In 2004 Forrest Guth was honored in an unusual way. A toy company called BBI released a limited edition action figure of PVT Guth to commemorate the 60th anniversary of D-Day. It's become a collectors item.
That’s so cool!
A very interesting and well done video. Thank you for providing this tour of Arlington. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thank you for this one. It will be something i will use for my next visit.
Yay! Happy we could help 😊
In my hometown of Jackson ,Minnesota. There's a member of the 101st who was killed in action on 6/8/1944.
RIP Hero!!! 🇺🇸 Thank you for sharing.
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos.

Darrel "Shifty" Powers is buried in the same cemetery as my dad, Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, VA
How neat!

Thank you for the kind words and we are so happy we can help others honor the memories of these heroes. 😊
I live a mere fifteen minutes from the cemetery where Medic Eugene “Doc” Roe is buried.
How neat!
Subscribed!
Thank you! Welcome to the Walk with History Community
I have Guth’s and Taylor’s signature on a BoB print. Did not realize they rested at Arlington.
How cool!
My son and I are taking the Stephen Ambrose 2 week Band of Brothers trip to Europe in July. Starting in England and ending at the Eagles Nest.
So cool! I’ve heard it’s absolutely amazing. 😁
Well done.
Thank you! 😊
Colonel Robert Sink is also buried in Arlington
Yes! We learned that later…while not technically part of Easy Company (since he was higher ranking) we wished we would have found him.
14:39 I totally agree with you, however, you need soldiers such as Speirs who are willing and able to execute total war against the enemy no matter the cost. Saving Private Ryan also demonstrated this in a scene of the landing on Normandy. If you are not prepared to go to total war against your enemy, you will fail. Our politicians have cost us victory for our last several wars.
Yes the American Soldier willing to fight and die for their country is a rare breed and should always be honored. Never forgotten. Thank you for watching.
Watch for my new book….Arlington…Country, Duty, Honored
will do!
great education on something that has been forgotten, that being WW2!!!!!!!!
Thank you. We appreciate that and thank you for watching.
God Bless You for what you do. 21 years active duty Navy and I never did anything worth a dam. These guys were hero's in every sense of the word. The word hero is over used today.
Serving is more than most can claim…and I thank you for yours. 😊
What song did you use during the intro? It is so fitting!
It’s a song I found on the site I use for royalty free music. Uppbeat.io Just called ‘patriotic theme’ 😁
@@WalkwithHistory Awesome! Love it!
Omg what hero 😢😢😢😢😢😢
🙏🏻
SemperFi to all my for father thank you have paved the way, for all American who today stand by me
I ride past Arlington National every morning going to the building.
All gave some, Some gave ALL.
🙏🏻
Section 60 is a good one. Also, 7A for MOH recipients.
Absolutely…so many heroes to visit.
Section 60, for a time, became known as The Saddest Acre in America, because many of those buried there were KIA in Iraq and Afghanistan. My parents are buried near there, in Section 57, grave 1249. I didn't know your channel was based out of Norfolk, until watching this video. I grew up there, on NAB Little Creek, and lived in Virginia Beach for quite a while after my dad's retirement in 1993.
Yes it was and even when I go today it is still one of the more active sections with visits and a younger generation. We are in Norfolk but just about to move again with the US Navy to Tennessee.
@@WalkwithHistory safe travels, and may you have fair winds and following seas.
Tnx heroes God Bliss
Remember on D DAY there was French Canadian and British too.
Absolutely! We actually just visited Normandy and saw the beaches they landed at. 😊
CPT Henry Jones is also missing.
Thank you for this presentation. Do you know if there is a directory to tell you where an individual is buried? I've got a shipmate buried there and if I ever get back to Arlington, it would be nice to see him again.
Look up the Arlington National Cemetery app…it is a great resource and can even give you walking directions to specific graves. We use it a lot. Just type the name and go. 😊
App is called ANC Explorer.
Also Lt. Henry S. Jones, Jr. is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Section 11, grave 44-LH. He was the young replacement who was an observer for the raid across the river in The Last Patrol. When doing a search for him in the Arlington National Cemetery Explorer app be sure to include the Jr.

thanks for the tip!
Great job 👍 honor respect appreciation to our Armed Forces🙏🗽 🇺🇲
Thank you for watching
13:53 The wedding dress from the parachute material was actually included in the movie for one of the characters if memory serves.
I remember that as well. Those dresses were so cool. Thank you for watching.
Amos Taylor
In the mini series it was 1st Lt Harry Welsh who keep his parachute made of silk which he thinks is good for wedding dress later married to Catherine " Kitty " Grogan became a teacher and later administrator in Wilkes-Barre School district
I visited Col. Sinks!
Nice!
I was navy 1988 to 1994 I want Arlington, I want to be taken there on a hay wagon towed by my fathers Farmall 200
COL Sink is also buried in Arlington
Yes he is…we definitely missed him. And while not a part of Easy Company … we wish we would have found him. Thank you for watching! 😊
COL Sink was a Toccoa man. He should be mentioned.
They also missed CPT Henry Jones and MG Salthe Matheson (former platoon leader, Easy Company).
We need you on our research team 😊 Thanks for tips for our next visit! 😁
Read the book back in the 90s. 👍
😊
Nesse Cemitério está sepultado Richard Leroy McKellen. 😬
The last great measure of devotion.
🙏🏻
While some may not consider Col Sink a member of Easy, unless my information is wrong Lt Gen Sink is buried at Arlington as well.
Interesting…if I missed that I’ll put it in the video description. We’ll do some digging on him. He may not be considered part of Easy Company since he would have been the CO of multiple companies…but he would have been a good one to recognize there as well as he played a big part in their story.
@@WalkwithHistory I understand. I hope I am not being thought of as being disagreeable. Just want to focus on the video. Technically speaking Col Strayer was not in Easy either. I do understand using this logic we could say that Gen Anthony McAuliffe and Gen Maxwell Taylor both also interred at Arlington were as well. As someone who grew up under the shadow of Currahee Mtn when I think of "Band of Brothers" I think of the core group during the fighting under Sobel, Winters, Heyliger, Dike, and finally "Sparky" Speirs. Along with their supporting "brothers".
@@THE-michaelmyers Not at all! I appreciate the note as I definitely overlooked Sink...if I would have thought of him it would have been "6 band of brothers in Arlington" 😂
@@WalkwithHistory I am not sure about your ability to leave the US, but it is important to remember many of Easy Company never made it back home. They are buried in several different places in Europe. I am planning a work-related trip back to Belgium for this upcoming summer. Most of these Easy Vets are not famous names from the book and miniseries, but they fought and gave it all for us all!
Really good presentation Jenn. It’s a bit macabre but it’s a shame their story was’t told until these men were reaching the end of life. Seeing their graves brings a sense of humanity to these men the series didn’t achieve for me.
Thank you. So happy we could honor these men and give people a different look at who they were. 😊
There is a well known photo taken in a French court yard of a soldier goofing around wearing a German helmet. That was Forrest Guth.
No way! Bummed I missed that for the video…I’ll have to look it up. Thank you! 😊
@@WalkwithHistory I Googled 'Forrest Guth Photos' and it popped right up. As a bonus, there is another photo I wasn't aware of where he went back as an elderly man and recreated the photo, helmet and all. Great video by the way!
@@tanker335 Thanks!
A video of some of the aces of WW 2 buried at Arlington.
Ooohhh, good idea. We have covered some in our Arlington Tuskegee Airmen video ruclips.net/video/YbX8KKeOmMc/видео.htmlsi=-rXz5UKpUwf9DJ7X 😊
@@WalkwithHistory some really good ones and one of the best WW 2 aces buried in Arlington.
@@WalkwithHistory Boyington, McCampbell, McGuire, Chennault are just a few. Especially since you were a pilot in the military it would be great to get your perspective.
@@johnresto1603 We did cover Boyington...I don't think we did the others...maybe Chennault. All amazing pilots!
@@WalkwithHistory some of the top aces of WW 2.
Not mentioning LTG Robert F Sink is not right. Also MG Salthe Matheson (once a PLT leader in Easy Company) and later on Sink’s staff is another missed veteran.
We definitely missed him…we’ll have to go back. Thanks for watching!
Wasn't Taylor's nickname "Bull"?
I’ll need to double check. Thanks for watching! 😊
The term Band of Brothers is so overused that I refer that name as The Men Of Easy Company
Amos Taylor died of a broken heart.
Truth. 😢
Long Live HTA
😊
@@WalkwithHistory Tootles...
😮Operation vs Occupation but your bios are otherwise on point but nobody designated me "grammar police"😂
Thank you for watching and honoring their service.

😁🙌🏻
Now go to Europe and find the rest.
I’ll be at the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. We will be making content for the channel.
@@WalkwithHistory I was in Luxemburg Cemetery 2008 there is A LOT of 101st Airborn laying at rest there...
YOU ARE A SO BEAUTIFULL BLOND GIRL❤❤
Men, and WOMEN!
Absolutely!!! 💪🥰🇺🇸♥️
Sorry photography. Show the headstone and not just you in your cap trying to read your notes. A true disservice to these heroes
Thanks for watching.
Snowflakes would have no idea.
i find this distasteful.. our war dead arent a tourist attraction..
let these men rest in peace FFS..
Thank you for honoring these heroes with us.
There's nothing distasteful it's a learning experience in history
@@randymoran67 its distasteful that people such as yourself feel that disturbing the graves of the war dead is a fun day out..
unless your family is buried there, you have no right to be anywhere near those graves..
@@ripvanwinkle2002 Visiting the deceased is not showing disrespect. It's saying they are not being forgotten.
@@scottgordon6648 thats not whats happening here, and the fact you cant tell the difference is part of the problem.
this is looking for soldiers made famous by TV and visiting their resting places like they are a tourist attraction...
this isnt visiting family memebers or people you knew or served with..
its macabre and morbid and the war dead dont deserve it.
"clump in kids! lets get a selfie with Dick Winters!"
i can tell youve not served and not watched the people you served with put in the ground before..
maybe you should before you think you have a right to an opinion here..
