Learning more and more about these aussie saddles. When I first bought one, I was so concerned about my high withered older mare because I thought the saddle was sitting too much against her back. Now I see that the saddle is designed to do that to give her some relief. Thank you for this video. Helped a lot!
good info...i think this would be my choice....aussie saddles are new to me. does collegiate make these stuffed saddles/where to find info. as to the best manufacturers. thanks
I was always worried about the padding being stiff and preventing blood flow. My mare has various back problems that are mostly solved, but I'm trying to keep from reoccurring. Her trapezius muscles are atrophied but she has an extra wide back. 32cm tree on a stubben. Or even a Wintec Wide.
Can this saddle be use for a horse that is not high-withered. I like the idea it forms to the horses back after riding for a short time. I guess it would sit high on my arab at first.
Hey Colin, I bought one of these stuffed panels from you when you first opened business years ago. It's a great saddle, as you said, for high-withered horses. We also bought a Southern cross crocodile and Muster Master from you a year ago. They are fantastic, especially with the Tackaberry. I had two questions. One is I want to convert this stuffed panel to a Tackaberry--how do I do it on the off-side, where there is the the ring on the surcingle and a strap hanging down?
Hi Collin, is it ok to move the stuffing in my brand new aussy saddle forward, my horse has very tiny withers, not high at all, but the saddle seems low up front a nod the back seems high, I think it may be to big. Any suggestions would be so greatly appreciated. I can send pics if you like. Thanks again
My 2nd question: I think I need to re-stuff the panels (they have lumps in them now, but the saddle is over 20 years old and in great shape otherwise. Is it possible to "re-stuff" those panels and then stitch them close? I have llamas and lots of clean llama wool. Would that be suitable? Is it normal for panels to get lumps in them after so many years? Plus some areas are flat on the panel, like they've been pushed into different shape by the horse's backs. It's not puffed up like it used to be.

Hey I have a question about the saddle and I'm in looking for a saddle for my horse and he is a Gypsy Vanner
Check the out Rhodesian Soldier , Grey Scouts, his horse was killed by lions and his Aussie saddle was chewed to bits.
Доброго дня Вам! А при чем тут тип седла, позвольте поинтересоваться, если Вы об этом конечно же?
which panel was stuffed I didn't hear it properly?
Both, underneath the saddle leather. If you have one of these you can't miss the two big "pillows" under each side.
