Thanks! I'm currently looking for a used Lance in the 3 smaller footprints to start my full time adventure! I will be bringing my two rescue dogs, and your videos have helped me feel better about taking them on the road with me! I will be working in the mountains half of the year, so a four season trailer is a must have for me. Lance makes such an economical lightweight yet practical product. I love them!
They are great trailers but the two smaller ones (1475 and 1575) don't have the same 4 season capabilities that the larger trailers have. Having dogs on the road is great and hope you enjoy it with your pups!
I must say this is the most enjoyable video clip I've watched in a long time. The man that's describing all of this just talking slow enough and the camera is very steady so I can see everything Close enough. It's at the perfect pace so I can really look and decide if this is something that I would like to buy. Thank you again.
I have been looking at this model for a while but always thought no dinette was a deal breaker. The way you showed the lazy boys sold me on those now. Great demo.
That is a nice trailer. I like the lounge chairs, big kitchen area, nice bathroom and, big windows. I love windows as long as they have blinds on them. I wish this had been longer.
I own a Lance mod. 1995 camper. It is one of the best campers we looked at. We looked at campers from Miami to Atlanta and about the only thing that compared to it was Airstream but we didn't like that design. I would recommend Lance to anyone looking for a quality camper.
I've been researching for a couple months for a trailer my v6 4.0 Tacoma can tow to set out on a first time solo for a couple years. I have to say this is the best review I have seen, great job! And this look perfect for me!
RUclips just served this video up to me and it looks perfect. We went to an RV show Monday and were disappointed with everything in our price and weight range. It seems they're trying to make a sub-3500-pound trailer handle a family of six. For the two of us planning a one- to two-year retirement trip in a few years, the chairs are a BIG improvement over a stiff and tight dinette. Thanks so much for showing this one off.
Tight dinettes are not fun places to eat in my opinion. One of the beauties of camping is enjoying food outdoors in fresh air away from the TV. We have a nice deck on our home but rarely eat outside. It's shameful.Eating outside your RV is wonderful.
I bought a Winnebago Micro Minnie 1706FB for its 2,980 lb dry weight. I get 14 mpg at 60 mph, using a Dodge Grand Caravan with the 3.6 L V-6 At 20 feet overall, there is not one campground that is not open to you. Lot's to be said for a T.T. at or under 20 feet!
You two are getting better and better at walking viewers through RVs. Very helpful commentary...good overview of features. Dealers should use this video in their ads.
They might as well go with compost toilets in these save the weight of the black water. That is 183 pounds minus the weight of the compost toilet, let say 13 pounds. So 170 pounds could be used for something else like storage a better battery and solar panels. The Kodiac lithium ion system weights 20 pounds, it lasts for many hours and could power the travel trailer. You can buy low weight stick on solar panels, to extend your time in the field as well. I have seen plenty of trailer for this size for around 10k, they need to make a price adjustment.

Any complaints or problems yet? Im am in the market and have been watching hundreds of videos on all kinds of brands. Its getting a lil overwhelming. Seems the Lance is the best quality. Is it worth the extra cash? Thanks buddy!!
I checked out the lance for my first time at a show. And did my research. Loved on how their built. I checked out the manufacturer tour and was impressed. Me and my husband are buying the 2375 Lance Trailer, length is 28ft. Out the door price including TTL $44,000. We’re going to tow it with our f 150 eco boost.
It's pretty cool and could be pretty comfortable, but I feel like if one shopped around they could get a fair amount more for $25k, or get something similar for quite a bit less
Ye would think but unless you build it yourself. Not quite. There's cheaper similar models but they've been noted for cutting corners. Like the keystone or hideout; viable for light use but garbage in long term living.
I love that they have an oven. Who ever thought that replacing a gas oven with a convection oven is crazy. Nothing like a toasty breakfast from the oven which also heats up the early morning chill. I use my oven in my Class C every day when on the road. Pizza, muffins, pies...comfort food to make camping fun. It's an essential. Also always go for a good size refrig. If you are out boon docking you'll appreciate a well stocked kitchen. I do wish manufacturers would get off the crazed swirl graphics on the outside.. Neutral, keep it neutral...
Opposite view here. We use an oven at home maybe 2x / month. No need in a travel trailer, especially a small one. I'd much rather have the space for storage.
This is perfect for me and puppy. I occasionally work at a campsite and this would be just enough. I don't always use AC I really don't like AC but it comes in handy when it's really hot then I can actually run it to step out of the camper for a few minutes and then step back and turn it off
I would not have a roof ac which is more expensive to replace, can leak, lowers headroom and aerodynamics. You can put a house window AC that are cheap to replace in a camper.
Not bad. Some nice features for a trailer, esp. the chairs, window, fridge and 3 burner stove. I've never been crazy about trailers, but there would be a lot of benefits, like being able to keep the jeep and using it to leave at a camping site so nobody tries to take your spot when you go into town, etc.
Nicely setup. Especially with the 2 swivel chairs. A tandem axle trailer would pull better and having more propane capacity would be nice when boondocking in colder temperatures.
I used to own a single axle RV. While it towed great, I was always concerned about tire blowout. My friend was towing a tandem axle over a bridge in Charleston, SC. He had a complete tread separation which could have put him in a real bind had he had a single axle.
I love this little trailer. It's all about the outdoors for me, so this is a viable option. I'd drop a Truma hot water system in it and call it all good.
What a beautiful designed little unit! I love the Layout, and more storage than I thought you could have in a tag-a-long.I might have left the water closet a wetbath to maximize the space, but having a drybath in a small unit is pretty cool too.Thank you guys for sharing, and for all the time you slave over the editing. I know it's not easy. Love Ya,C-Ya!,,,,,Peace!
I'm looking for 4 season TT without slide, at or under 4,000 lbs, high quality, and finally came down to either a Lance or an Outdoor RV Manufacturing Blackrock 18 DB, and the Black Rock came out ahead for me. I have a 1500 Dodge Ram with 5.9L, 4x4, tow pkg. A summer season RV salesman who has a YT channel warned about being able to access the basement via inside by lifting up the bed. He said cold air came into the basement which radiated to the bed, thus making it freezing cold in the winter. He ended up sleeping on his sofa instead of the bed. He sold that TT and bought an Outdoors RV Manf. 5th wheel instead. I would be inclined to look for a Nash as a 2nd or 3rd option. Too many thing I didn't like about this particular TT (tiny sink/shower/table, sideways bed, no cover for front window to protect from rocks, etc). I sure appreciate these videos considering pickings are scarce where I live, so nice to see other RVs without leaving home. Thanks.
Absolutely beautiful Trailer.....but my advice is to get a strong truck to do the towing...something with enough power to tow up hills ...virtually any truck can pull this on the flats....but add a hill.....that's when you may have a problem
NEw friends here will be following you guys. WE looked at this lance and decided on a nuCamp Tab 400 in the end but loved your reviews as well. ALMOST got this one.
My Grand Cherokee with the hemi and factory tow package would have no problem towing that baby although I would wonder about a wrangler. After you load up the trailer with water and stuff I think you could exceed the total gross vehicle combined weight real easy.
It's a pretty nice unit but there are a couple of things I have a slight issue with. 1.) That front window really needs an awning/rock guard to cover it while in transit. Otherwise you have passing vehicles that may toss up a rock and knock out your front window and 2) the "Porch" light really should be above the door so it lights up the steps better for night use. Where it's positioned it seems more suited to sitting under the awning but open the door and the steps are in the dark. That could be a problem.
I love almost everything about this camper..it has more features than I want ..don't need outside speakers or power tongue jack . Also don't need a powered awning
I have a 2017 1475 and while the materials and floorplan are great, there is a major design flaw in my opinion. The roof is installed below the level of the sidewalls and the front cap is higher than the roof as well. This means that rainwater will pool on the entire roof to a depth of almost 1/2" which invites leaks, which I have already had. Lance says the roof is fine and that I should be sure to keep up the seals. I say design the roof properly so that pooling water isn't a concern.
I love all the little extras here. I have a Hyundai Sante Fe and I have been looking for something small enough to tow it. I'm a single female senior and I want something easy to handle. Thanks for the post.
Check out the tow rating on your vehicle. If it is not at least 4,000 lb. you would need a bigger tow vehicle for this trailer, even though this trailer has a dry weight of only 2,800 lb. By the time you add all your gear, you're up to 3,600 lb. And if you plan to drive up and down steep grade mountains, it will strain the vehicle. The tow capacity of my vehicle is 4,500 lb, I have added an transmission cooler and rear suspension air bags, and I have a weight distributing hitch. After all that, I feel that my vehicle is at the bare minimum to tow this trailer SAFELY. Further, my longest trip so far is about 100 miles and my biggest climb is to 4,300 ft. She did okay, but I don't know whether I would trust her to climb long, steep grades.
While it has a lot of nice features, I have to comment on the bed. Our first RV was an R-Pod, with a bed like the Lance. It got old! When I had to get up in the middle of the night, my hubby would get up and sit at the dinette. Crawling over would still have woken him up. So, just think about that one for a bit!
We've thought about it and lived like that for a couple years - we had an old apt and put the bed against the wall to Kait would have to crawl over me to get out. Not ideal and we are looking for North/South beds...but everything we look at is about certain compromises and we have to ask ourselves if they are things we can live with.
I need the dry weight. I really wish everyone would give the dry weight and the tank sizes up front every time because that is my biggest hurdle. I love the seating but I don't know about the price. That pull out drawer would be a must for me
Right, lol...Our Winnebago 1706FB is also East/West Queen, but other than you might need to sleep on the outside, yes..depending on your age and bladder...it still is a great design, so as you don't add 3 more feet and weight, by having your bed North/South, as well as less cost to buy...and roof maintenance costs...(which can add up, if done properly).
I been pissing in jugs for years..I am not getting out of a warm comfortable bed not even once a night..all I do is roll over and piss in an old tide washing liquid bottle then roll back over and go back to sleep..I guess I am just a simple man living a simple life 🤔😂👌👍🍺🍻😂🤗..ps..I might not go back to sleep if my beautiful filipino girlfriend wakes up..hehe I love my simple life with my beautiful filipino soon to be wife..🤔👌👍🍺🍻😂🤗
I really like watching your videos. I think you know what to look for and really explain it well. Plus with your experience camping you know what works and what could work better. Thanks for the info.
Should have duel propane tanks, one your hooked to and using and one that's full so you can switch to when you run out in the middle of the night or during the grill out. Two batteries as well to double your amp hours for boon docking. The two swivel chairs is the absolute best idea I have seen in a camper this size. I hate the uncomfortable diner seating in most campers. Oven is nice. I would want a 5000 lb towing capacity vehicle to feel safe for any of the smaller campers that are around 2500-3000 lbs...
Nice video, nice features and very close to our 15,000.00 Rpod 180. Layout is almost identical but, the Lance is definitely upgraded. Not quite sure about the price but, still a nice camper. Love those chairs!
I like that floor plan with the nice chairs, I was looking at it online a couple weeks back. I don't like those small round kitchen sinks though. Also a single battery outside. To add solar and more battery power that wouldn't work well.
watchman on the wall , I am appreciating all your informative comments on travel trailor topics so I subscribed in hopes you have videos. Great comments!
The Home Plate Special, I am not yet that far enough into this to have my own videos, but it has crossed my mind. I will be mulling it over in the near future. Lots of people have helped me with their comments and videos, so I thought I might chip in once in a while to give my honest 2 cents. Happy travels.
This is a cool trailer. We bought an RPod180. Very similar layout. I prefer the narrow rpod for towing and visibility while towing, and also like the kitchen slide out. The chairs, table, and large window is really awesome! That’s a huge bonus compared to our two person dinette that works but not the most comfortable. I think I prefer the rpod bath also, but very similar. Nice rig!
I like this Lance layout also. Although we are getting ready to order a R-pod 180 also. Do you still like the 180?. This video was four years ago and this Lance started at $25k. I'm sure it is over $40-45k+ today.
@@ejhayes76 yes, we love our 180! I upgraded the tires, the AC is very loud, and my wife has to climb over me to get out of bed. But for its size, it’s got everything we need and all the features we wanted.
Scott Van Artsdalen I agree , I looked at all the models and loved them all , very roomy . Love how their build . Check out their manufacturer factory on how their build. I’m sure you have already done that.
I was told that you have to be careful with the large bar that help you go in. It may needs to be smaller & that might help when opening the top because it the bar is laying flat against the trailer it will hit the handle & mess up the top & other things ! Sink is to small needs to be not round. I don’t like the bed because of the problem of crawling over someone & how are you going to make it up. It is to hard as you get older to climb on the bed. I have one now but one side is open & it is a pain. Could you add one or two ft. to have it the other way & some room on the sides to make up the bed ? Could a Murphy bed be put in there to give you more room. Thanks hope you don’t mind my opinions. Thanks
Looks can be deceiving. Talk to folks who have actually used one for three years. Lance generally has a good reputation and are known for truck slide ins.
Any lack of storage issues could be solved by using a 4x4 pickup to tow with a cap over the bed. If you want to go somewhere the trailer can't, disconnect, and take the truck way off road for a night and sleep in the bed (air mattress?). A truck cap might improve the aerodynamics by moving the airstream up higher before it hits the trailer = better mpg's? This trailer and the truck camper you looked at are both super cool in my opinion, but are significantly smaller than your class A...can the both of you really downsize that small and still be comfortable? Good luck searching...enjoying the quest.
Great points David and something friends of ours do with their Airstream - carry extra water and supplies in the pick up bed. We don't need or use the space in our current Class A which is why we are set on getting something smaller.
@@Weretherussos Go to Texas! I just sold my 2010 Casita , 17ft. , 2 weeks ago. It was almost like new and there were 49 calls about it in 1 week. They are popular and hard to find on the East coast.
Good Review. Perhaps the biggest issue I would have is just one battery, but that could be fixed. I think you could make this work. My Class B has 25 gallons of freshwater and I make that work (a week by myself, 3-4 days with my wife). The bed would probably need some customization to be comfortable but it seems fine otherwise. Price seems a little steep at $25k but if you can get the usual 25% off somewhere, then it isn't so bad. I still think I would prefer the Class B, but then that's me.
Got to be a smart consumer if it's a 2019 Buy it 2020 in March you get a great deal by then it'll probably be almost half off 12 to 13,000$ buy my cars that way to plus you get a chance to look at the reviews and see what breaks what's sturdy buy real people.
I have been shopping around for a while. I like Lance's construction. But I need a small trailer like this with a double axle configuration. Until then, no go.
Wow what a great find that is almost what i am looking for. I am amazed by the amount of counter space that it has. I am going to see on this week. If i could find that exact floorplan with 2 axles and a bit more counter space in the bath I would buy.
When you were talking about full time with your jeep was it just because its not big enough or has a hard time pulling this long distances? I have a rubicon and I am looking for something to go cross country... I would love to hear your recommendations thanks so much
Here’s an image I can’t get out of my head: A new Lance 1475 non slide mounted directly onto the frame of a 4x4 International CV. Would be cheaper than any lance truck camper and helluva lot roomier as well!
Lance is much better than most of the others out there. I have a Layton. It is complete garbage. The cabinets are like cardboard. It was 14k new in 2016. I've already replaced 3k in power converter and fridge. The water heater has been replaced. The entry steps pulled out of the floor. No bath lavatory. No oven. Awning replacement. I've seen Lance. They are much better. But I wouldn't pay 25k. I'd pay 21k though.
Doubt if you can put “any other BBQ type device” in the outside LP bib. The BBQ in question would probably need to have a low pressure regulator on it for it to work properly.
We retired with a 25foot Forest River 5th wheel & a GMC 2500HD - went on the road 93 days an had a great time. This RV'ing is fun but do a bit of homework, early on...ask lots of questions. Peace, brother.
The most important features about this trailer have not been mentioned. It is the most well insulated trailer on the market and best size to tow and keep warm of all trailers. It is also under these circumstances the most capable of withstanding situation of condensation and long term abuse under such difficult circumstances. This specific trailer is then the most eco-friendly trailer on the market and it compete with way less equipped much smaller trailers for other advantages. The only real down size from my experience, is that the retailers keeps its price high and reduce bigger rig price to direct consumers into buying more. Which lead to a more difficult, less efficient, less enjoyable and more dangerous camping experience in general.
I was just looking at this trailer on a local dealer's website. I was wondering about the chairs because I would only need one most of the time since my wife doesn't like to go camping. Thank you for mentioning that the one near the bed can be removed. That leave room for more storage for whatever I want. It is pricey compared with other campers its size. Do you think it is worth the extra $$?
I don't think so, you can prob get a really nice pre-owned 20 footer with much better resale value for less than $20k. A newer used trailer, like say 2013 or something like that.

Wrangler would not work. Prob 3,500 lb tow capacity with a short wheel base. Not good. This trailer, when fully loaded, weighs around 3,600 lb.
Thanks for that review. That is the make & model I plan on getting when I retire in June and go full time. There just wasn't much on RUclips about it.
You're welcome and congrats on the upcoming retirement!
Everybody seems to like having windows by your head in bed. Not me.
I like wearing my samsquanch outfit and watching the campers sleep.
It's a pretty nice unit but there are a couple of things I have a slight issue with.
1.) That front window really needs an awning/rock guard to cover it while in transit. Otherwise you have passing vehicles that may toss up a rock and knock out your front window and
2) the "Porch" light really should be above the door so it lights up the steps better for night use. Where it's positioned it seems more suited to sitting under the awning but open the door and the steps are in the dark. That could be a problem.
The front window is not glass. It's acryllic.
Even worse..
I love almost everything about this camper..it has more features than I want ..don't need outside speakers or power tongue jack . Also don't need a powered awning
You're right. Extra expense, and when they fail $$$$$$
@@watchmanonthewall14 Good information. I agree. These matters are not stressed enough. More emphasis is put on the bed.
@@williambranham6249 Thanks.
Pricey, but what a great layout. Love the lounge chairs.
True. Best of luck!
I need the dry weight. I really wish everyone would give the dry weight and the tank sizes up front every time because that is my biggest hurdle. I love the seating but I don't know about the price. That pull out drawer would be a must for me
Well done walkthrough. Love your comments!
He who has the smallest bladder sleeps closest to the potty.
Problem solved!
Ha ha, that would be me 😕
...or prostate cancer
I been pissing in jugs for years..I am not getting out of a warm comfortable bed not even once a night..all I do is roll over and piss in an old tide washing liquid bottle then roll back over and go back to sleep..I guess I am just a simple man living a simple life 🤔😂👌👍🍺🍻😂🤗..ps..I might not go back to sleep if my beautiful filipino girlfriend wakes up..hehe
I love my simple life with my beautiful filipino soon to be wife..🤔👌👍🍺🍻😂🤗
I really like watching your videos. I think you know what to look for and really explain it well. Plus with your experience camping you know what works and what could work better. Thanks for the info.
Phew! Good thing the TV is a flat screen, although I haven't seen a non flat screen TV been sold in decades.
No wonder ppl are converting cargo trailers for 5k. The price for this is INSANE.
Not to mention the depreciation value drop is a ton.
And now they are even more expensive. It’s amazing how many people have more money than brains.
It's not even an Airstream.
yeah sounds high, take at least 25% even 30 off your offer, they'll take it. Pretty much the rule for RVs
you can get it for 20% under MSRP
That quick disconnect should be a little more concealed than that fearful you might
tear it off.. camping. Pricey !!!.
Like the chair/table set up ideal for 2 people.
I love Lance, they make a great quality coach...I just wish they made bigger trailers for my big family.
They do make bigger double axle trailers.
I like that floor plan with the nice chairs, I was looking at it online a couple weeks back. I don't like those small round kitchen sinks though. Also a single battery outside. To add solar and more battery power that wouldn't work well.
Good point regarding the battery, but it would be an easy change to add a second battery - and there is an option to be pre-wired for solar.
Dealer added an extra battery and propane tank on my 1475. Combine that with a Honda 2000 generator, and you're good to go.
watchman on the wall , I am appreciating all your informative comments on travel trailor topics so I subscribed in hopes you have videos.
@@ejhayes76 also the awning is light duty. Not a big deal as I just anchor it down. Without tie downs it will not withstand very much wind.
hello i didnt see a slide out on this one and thats the part i liked about it ....less to go wrong :)
We've been looking at the 1985 model. They make some nice trailers.
They do and good luck in finding your new trailer!
Scott Van Artsdalen I agree , I looked at all the models and loved them all , very roomy . Love how their build . Check out their manufacturer factory on how their build. I’m sure you have already done that.
I love the layout but the colors.. it looks like from the 90'
I was told that you have to be careful with the large bar that help you go in. Thanks
Why am I watching this, I can't even afford or have a desire to buy one. But I like the gentleman. He seems to know a lot.
I live behind the factory where these are built. I’m going to buy one looks to be good quality and support a local business.
Looks can be deceiving. Talk to folks who have actually used one for three years. Lance generally has a good reputation and are known for truck slide ins.
nice walk thru of both the truck camper and trailer
Thank you!
No way is that itty bitty thing worth $25K.. aside from the inflated price, its an Ok trailer. Great video, very informative!! Thank you!!!
That’s a deal in the trailer world
Any lack of storage issues could be solved by using a 4x4 pickup to tow with a cap over the bed.
We don't need or use the space in our current Class A which is why we are set on getting something smaller.
definitely on my short list for trailers, next to the Casita!!
We like the idea of the Casita's but haven't been able to find one!
@@Weretherussos Go to Texas! I just sold my 2010 Casita , 17ft. , 2 weeks ago. It was almost like new and there were 49 calls about it in 1 week. They are popular and hard to find on the East coast.
That is an awesome layout. Pretty shocking actually...I really like it!
Maybe already said but the table sure looks wobbly.
Those are all things we are considering and what the compromises are that we can live with - thanks Ray!
for 25k it needs convection microwave oven and solar panels on the roof.
And two batteries and two gas tanks
That’s MSRP, what’s actual?
Your dreaming.
Love the 2 chairs. I hate booth dinettes and i removed the one in my class a.
We feel the same way and why we are looking at this model.
That is pretty nice trailer. The chair set up was real nice. Wishing you the best in your decision :)
Thanks Kim!
$25,000 is way too high for a little RV
You get what you pay for.
the dollar is not what it use too be inflation today $$$ tomorrow $$$$$
Agreed but Lance is good quality above others at this price.
Got to be a smart consumer if it's a 2019 Buy it 2020 in March you get a great deal by then it'll probably be almost half off 12 to 13,000$ buy my cars that way to plus you get a chance to look at the reviews and see what breaks what's sturdy buy real people.
Probably 35k now after Bidenomics
I have been shopping around for a while. I like Lance's construction. But I need a small trailer like this with a double axle configuration. Until then, no go.
Wow what a great find that is almost what i am looking for. I am amazed by the amount of counter space that it has. I am going to see on this week. If i could find that exact floorplan with 2 axles and a bit more counter space in the bath I would buy.
Good luck finding that perfect trailer!
Look at the BIGFOOT. My friend has one.
The only thing I hate about this is the East/West bed. I prefer a North/South. I love that it had a sink in the bathroom and a oven.
Thank for putting the price up front..I hate when they don't say any price like it's a big secret..25 grand is a good price..
Awesome trailer I want one
When you were talking about full time with your jeep was it just because its not big enough or has a hard time pulling this long distances? I have a rubicon and I am looking for something to go cross country... I would love to hear your recommendations thanks so much
In Florida we call a small camper or tiny home with that many windows an Easy Bake Oven!!your sure to cook thoroughly and no tint don't matter lol
The new Honda Ridgeline could pull that, plus Leer makes a top for it.
The old Honda Ridgeline pulls it just fine.
Nice little place. I'd request a larger kitchen sink.
Here’s an image I can’t get out of my head: A new Lance 1475 non slide mounted directly onto the frame of a 4x4 International CV. Would be cheaper than any lance truck camper and helluva lot roomier as well!
#2 choice of rv. Trying like crazy to find that cute other one with the bathroom in the middle. Seen it once, and gone.
I could save a ton of time if all travel camper video reviews began with the weight of the trailer. Thank you
Good point!
Nice floor plan 👍👍👍
Doubt if you can put “any other BBQ type device” in the outside LP bib. The BBQ in question would probably need to have a low pressure regulator on it for it to work properly.
Maybe I will go look at a Lance to see if I like the chairs.
The 2 recliners as seats at the table interested me -- should I follow thru on my gypsy lfe-style considerations at this late stage of life.
We retired with a 25foot Forest River 5th wheel & a GMC 2500HD - went on the road 93 days an had a great time. This RV'ing is fun but do a bit of homework, early on...ask lots of questions. Peace, brother.
Recliners? I'm not sure 'bout dat.
Lol @ the shower having a lot of room 4:42. He looked like a body being covered by a tarp in a morgue.
I also wanted to see the in-side of the fridge???? 🙀
