I'm sorry for him because he was so struggling to talk in malay... Guys, for your information there are A LOTTTTTT of chinese in Malaysia not fluent in malay. Trust me. I know a lot of my chinese friends not fluent in malay. Mostly they understand malay but it hard for them to speak back in malay especially for a long sentence because since they were young they attend chinese school, enroll in private college and work in chinese firm. Most of the time in their life, the people in their surrounding are chinese and non-malay. Please don't say shame on him for not fluent in malay or forgot his own nation language or 'lupa daratan' or whatsoever. Just because all your chinese friends are fluent in malay not meaning that all the chinese in Malaysia the same like your friends. You're the one should go out from your own circle and look beyond that. Reality in this real world not the same with what only happened around you. Yes, we do need him to speak more in malay to promote our own country but we should courage and support him to speak malay instead of look down on him. i am very disappointed with some of the comments who said that its a shame that isaac couldnt speak malay that well. imagine that he has been living in korea for years, and some of you ask him to practice speaking bahasa melayu like he wants to speak with who? his manager? teammate? the koreans? unless his family was there with him, live in korea with him and speak malay with him on daily basis. then you can expect him to speak better in malay. if you dont have the experience living at the country that doesnt speak your mother language for years, you dont have the rights to judge him that way. sorry for the long rant but i felt sad because many of them is like "why you cannot speak fluent malay" and etc.. when they have no experience living in a country where you cannot speak your mother language at all :(

The sentence structure in this Malay is quite different from english. Im not from Malaysia but my dad is so i can roughly understand whenever my dad speaks in malay but i cant say a proper sentence in malay cause im chinese and have never learned malay in school. In school we learn Chinese and english but i speak english at home so i get isaac

to be very honest with you guys, you should know that doesnt mean that isaac is a malaysian, he can speak fluently like other people does. you need to know that chinese mostly tend to mix chinese-malay-english in one sentence so you need to understand that. like my chinese friends, none of them are that fluent in malay, but they still try. malaysian culture always like to mix many language in one sentence. as long the people that they are talking to, understand, then fine
yeah...my classmates do that a lot..eventhough they and me mix languages when speaking,all of still can understand..it's not surprise if he can't speak fluently,as he have been living in korea for a long time and from what i know people from sabah n sarawak have their own "loghat"..they can write in malay,but not fluent speaker if they speak malay.

I feel you, Isaac. Malay isn't our native tongue. Since I live with my grandparents who are biracials, they taught me English first. My late grandfather was a pure Javanese and his father came from Indonesia while my grandmother is half Malay half Arab which her grandmother was a pure Arab came from Saudi Arabia. When I was a little, I can't really understand & speak Malay. I only knew the basic. I just kept mixing both languages while speaking. I also speak Indonesian. I had a really hard time while in primary school especially during the BM class. I was like "Wth they're talking about?! I've never heard this my whole life." And not all the pupils in my primary school can speak & understand it if I talked to them in English on that time. That's the reason.

yeah...my classmates do that a lot..eventhough they and me mix languages when speaking,all of still can understand..it's not surprise if he can't speak fluently,as he have been living in korea for a long time and from what i know people from sabah n sarawak have their own "loghat"..they can write in malay,but not fluent speaker if they speak malay.
@@Flowermoonlight thanks for understand sis. i am from sarawak who has been growing up in sabah for years and i totally can understand and know how the sabahan chinese and sarawak chinese speak. i am glad that our country have the residents from different races and ethnic and this is why we are able to understand other people especially in isaac cases 😊

I feel you, Isaac. Malay isn't our native tongue. Since I live with my grandparents who are biracials, they taught me English first. My late grandfather was a pure Javanese and his father came from Indonesia while my grandmother is half Malay half Arab which her grandmother was a pure Arab came from Saudi Arabia. When I was a little, I can't really understand & speak Malay. I only knew the basic. I just kept mixing both languages while speaking. I also speak Indonesian. I had a really hard time while in primary school especially during the BM class. I was like "Wth they're talking about?! I've never heard this my whole life." And not all the pupils in my primary school can speak & understand it if I talked to them in English on that time. That's the reason.
