Do you have a tutorial on how to load data to Fact Table using this SCD Type 2 with Start Date and End Date?
thanl you so much 🙏🙏
You are most welcome Sir.
Good Explanation
Thanks Sai for your comment.
Excellent explanation...if i want a scenario where i have start date and update date and i am using scd type 1 where with each update the update date will change then how to do the configuration (I could do a scd type 1 without this transformation and implement the same but this seems easier)
Yeah it generates the code automatically for you. If you want to update the value of update date for each update, then you might need to alter the code generated by SCD and put your update query inside OLE DB Command transformation.
its very clear. Can you also do similar video for fact table
Thanks. Sure I will do this in coming days.
Good on you champ
ha ha, I am a learner too.
Excellent
Thank you for your comment.
hi aqil, when i choose destination table in scd transformation i didn't see emp_id column could you please tell me the reason
Please double check the table meta data, it should be there.
great example
Thanks
Your videos are short n sweet...
Thank you Sagarika for your comment.
Can you please tell us how you have done the transformation part after slowly change dimension in data flow.
Actually slowly changing dimension itself generate all the code inside the data flow task. I have not added the extra code here, although if you want to make any change to slowly changing dimension then you can do this.
Although a better and faster approach to implement this will be doing this using Lookup transformation, in SCD we use OLE DB Command which is slow, thus we normally implement it using Lookup transformation. You can check it below how to implement this

could you please help me with this..
The time didnt updated for SCD1 ?
I will check that out but below is the fastest method to run for SCD Type 1, SCD Type 2 and fixed attribute

8:40 By which query you have copied all records from source to destination?
If you check the video from 8:10 then there was no data into into DimEmployee, I executed the SSIS package which inserted the data from source to destination table.
@@learnssis thank you 🙏 I appreciate your efforts 🙏
But you are puting the source table and target table in the same BD !
Best
Thank you.
nice video and congrats to jyoti singh for marrying bhandari
Ha ha. very funny.
What is use of inferred?
Hi Ankit, inferred option is used when a record exists in Fact table, however its corresponding data is not yet present in the Dimension table. So if a record was marked as inferred record then whenever the data will be available in future in the source table, same record will get updated to Dimension table.
1. If a record exists in Fact Table and its corresponding data does not exist in Dimension Table, cube processing fails. How will it work. Will an entry be automatically made on the dimension table? If you can make a video on this one also, that would be great.
Sure, I will make a video on this.
