I am learning what it means to be a woman like God designed. For a while, I believe in many lies of the culture and I can’t say they are not in me somewhere to this day but I confront the thoughts and attitudes because I want to follow Christ and who He created me to be! I am having a daughter this year and I want to heal my wounds and I want to learn from women like you and many others to teach my daughter what it means to be a woman! Thank you Lisa for speaking up and for showing other women the patch to fight for female.
Talking to the next generation about my own journey of realizing I had bought a lie... I didn't need to be "sexy" to be a woman. Sexy is already within me, and it belongs to my husband! And on the flip side, I didn't need to be judgemental and berating other women (especially in my thoughts) to be a Godly female. Hearing what girls are dealing with in their lives and being empathetic and calling them to see what the scriptures lay out... that's one way I'm fighting.
I’m 46 and was sold the bill of goods. I have so much regret now. Realizing I’ve missed it all and the blessings God intended for women. Single and no children. Everything was stolen. I am blessed because redemption in a sort of way has happened because I’ve been called to work in pediatrics and to fight for their rights in many ways. Praying that maybe my story can help one woman not to make the mistakes I did. I wish I had a family.
There are so many sibling foster sets, older kids, or higher needs fosters that could use you as their family. Pray about it, look into it, ask God to remove any lies holding you back. I used to be a volunteer coordinator, and the ones that were the absolute best working with children were the women that never had children of their own that we’re ready to pour into the next generation. They especially had patience for the more broken kids or would do the prep work no one else wanted to even if that was on other nights away from the kids. Consider volunteering over the summer with the Sunday school classes at your church. No one comes into parenthood with experience you learn and grow up alongside the kid.
My mother told me at 8yrs old when she was pregnant with my sister and was sitting in the kitchen scolding me for i can't recall what, that she would love my sister more than she loves me. This was a huge wound for years, she became a Christian when I was 13.. but didn't live like one with me in relationship. But God is healing this relationship, and He growing, healing and maturing me after turning 40. I've forgiven her as a she apologized for her own ignorance. I understand her differently now, she was abused, abandoned, and given away as a child. And married by 17 to my dad who was 29. So much was against her, like me, but God restores, redeems, and exchanges lies for His truth. For me what it means to be a woman is to transformed into the image of God through character, attributes, and nature to reflect His fullness by His Spirit.
Yes!!❤ Eve was deceived and targeted, much like women today. It is time for all daughters to shine bright with the calling God has given you! Let the Holy Spirit guide your intuition with wisdom. I have heard the same exact thing in church about the garden. When I got married, I felt like I needed to just submit to my husband and listen to him because my voice didn’t matter to God when a woman was married. This podcast is so timely❤❤❤
*I've been hurt by men but I've been wounded by women.* This is true in my life. And the woman who wounded me the deepest was my pastor's wife. But glory to God, He has healed me of all trauma from that. I listened to this in tears. It SO resonates with me! Thank You Father God for speaking through Lisa to our hearts as women. Yess!! God loves strong women and men. You can have a voice as a women and still be submissive to her husband. You have the holy spirits power to bring compassion, love, grace and truth to situations as a woman.

Oh Lisa! 💔I have walked the same path you have! My dad abandoned us for another woman when I was 6. My mother was destroyed by this (as my sisters and me too), and she became very cruel. I thought the same way you did about women and was thrilled when I had twin BOYS! We were so much alike! Thank God for Jesus!!! God was always with me! I am so, so grateful that you followed and obeyed your calling from the Lord! Your teaching is PHENOMENAL!! I love your strength and your passion for the Word of God and to share it with all of us!! Wow! I had been ignoring the Lord’s call to wake up at 5 am and start my day with devotion to Him (Ecc 11:6). Today was the first time I listened and obeyed. It was also the first time I had actually noticed and noted that He specifically said “between you and the WOMAN” (emphasis added). Then, He lead me to Revelation 12 where it talks about the woman giving birth and the enemy waits to devour it. I even seen that this video was posted today and thought “hmm, I should watch it, but didn’t do it in that moment.” Then, my friend just sent this video to me and my mind is blown right now! How great is our God! He is speaking to His church! Connecting dots. Bigger picture. Wow! Thanks God!! Just got to the end of the video! ANOTHER VERSE He showed me today aligns with this video! Hebrews 10:38-39 I read that about shrinking back today and was convicted!
I grew up with women only: my mother and 2 sisters as I lost my father at a young age. I've been married with an African and has 2 boys. Recently we moved there and I noticed a huge difference how men treat women over there. Since then I miss this woman relationship in my life. The man is the chef of his house and that's that and they respect men hugely. However I am so pleased when some women starts their business or meet together to voice their opinions on certain matters. They begin to realise that they have value and make every effort to assert it. This change is encouraging and it is a good example to other women to do the same.
This is so incredible, Lisa! Thank you. I grew up a tomboy with an only brother, not liking women either. I'm African, and the culture is still very misogynistic in many ways, so women are co-opted to oppress and keep each other down. In reacting to this, we modern women embrace this feminism that kills everything God wanted us to be as women. I'm just finding out what God called the woman to be myself, as a second-time single mother (pre- and post-marriage), peeling away layers of deception about what God wants His daughters to be. And I know I will be misunderstood as being bitter about how I have been treated by men, being anti-marriage, anti-submission, a feminist or whatever, but... I love this! And this is the hour for God's daughters to rise up! Thank you.

I’m the same way Lisa, I feel like I think like a man. I never wanted female friendships. “I’ve been hurt by men but wounded by women” - the story of my life. I also struggle because I grew up with 4 brothers and no sisters. I have a daughter of my own now so I’m trying to be soft. I mess up EVERY DAY in this area but I’m getting better

I have been hearing from God that 2024 is the year when He will rise women in all walks of life to speak life to other women, to support one another, to recognize that He loves us no matter the circumstances. He is so tired of the manipulation, the sexual abuse, the violence, the degradation and the lack of respect of women. We need to support one another in prayer and in other ways. Lately I’ve been struggling with my leading to be a preacher. To women or whomever! Proverbs 31’s word virtuous, as you probably know, is the Hebrew word chayil, means “army” and was translated most to mean just that, ARMY. who can find a virtuous woman? Her price is far above rubies! Women have been portrayed in the church to be, meek, sweet - all great attributes - but we are chayil women first and foremost. I am excited to be part of you and John’s ministry again!
I have a voice...and I'm using. However, there's much more to come especially within the church. It makes me sad because we've (Christian men and women) have allowed this onslaught on weakness. I know I will ruffle the enemies feathers, but I've said yes to God and not backing down.

This podcast is so timely. Lately I’ve been struggling with my leading to be a preacher. To women or whomever!
Proverbs 31’s word virtuous, as you probably know, is the Hebrew word chayil, means “army” and was translated most to mean just that, ARMY. who can find a virtuous woman? Her price is far above rubies! Women have been portrayed in the church to be, meek, sweet - all great attributes - but we are chayil women first and foremost.

I've been called to teach, and more specifically, to help young ladies find out their true selves in a communal sense, rather than an adversarial one. Women need to stop seeing each other as enemies, or to have hatred against men.
