  • This car was sitting in the wood for a long time. It is cool to see what is still out there sitting in the woods. I have another car that was pulled out of the woods with this one that will be the next video, so stay tuned,

Maaan , after all these years I really hope that thing doesnt get squished. When I was a little kid one of the main cars my parents had through my childhood was a 1986 Cavalier base model , 2.0 engine, same colour as this car with same colour interior.. being slightly newer it had different tail amd headlights , but it was the same kinda box styling. I loved that car. I cried when my parents got rid of it LOL. I believe this one should be brought back to life

She really doesn't look that bad after 40 years, and it even has an ash tray, that is something you don't see on today's cars anymore.

Grew up in a 84 cavalier cs wsgon. Same options moms was 2 tone. Great car. I totaled it in fall of 1992 hit a deer in it. Moms had odometer rolled over twice had about 230,000 miles if i remeber. We sold it to the local salabge yard who threw in a radiator and rad cradle and used it as a yard car for many more yesrs. 😅

1983 was the first year for fuel injection in these cars. 1982 had the 1.8L with two barrel. My grandparents first had a 1982 Skyhawk (the Buick "J" body cousin to this) with one of those engines, but eventually they bought a 1989 Cavalier (a slight refresh from this original "box" design) with a 2.0L which I got from them in 2002 with 28k on the clock. They bought it new. Just like this car, mine has the "Value Leader" equipment package which had tilt, cruise, delay wipers and other options as a package. You meant "six way power seats" perhaps because there was only one tilt steering wheel option (RPO code N33) and this car has it.
No VIN, can't win, but easy to figure out, no doubt: 1G1 for US made Chevrolet, A for manual seat belts, D for Cavalier CS, 69 for four door, P for 2.0L four cylinder with throttle body fuel injection, then a random check digit, D for the 1983 model year, 7 for Lordstown, OH assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Lordstown plant operated from 1966 to 2019 and was known as "Industrial Woodstock" due to the hippie element that worked there. The plant was rife with labor problems and when other GM plants had strikes, GM management said that they had "Lordstown Syndrome". Foxconn and others now occupy that property. No tag, can't brag, but should be code 29 Dark Blue exterior paint.

It has the front or face from a 1982 model. That front was more beautiful. Love it.

That fascia was used on the 83 as well. But only 82-83

I remember when these cars were new. I never got one but always liked them. I was more into bigger sportier cars at the time. But id love to get one of these and tinker with it as a project car, and use it as a daily. Todays cars are overly designed and full of useless sensors

I would guess that has been off the road since W was in his first term, maybe even earlier. I do wonder with fresh gas down the TBI and a battery if she would fire.

You should part it out, the parts for these cars are pretty much impossible to find.

The shift lock button looks to be backwards unless that's some kind of decoration.

Ah man. Hearing this car's destined for the crusher is just a bummer. This car has a decent body, no rust. I like the look of the front end of the first years, better than the 1985-87 Cavalier's egg crate grille.

Damn, what a shame. Been working on mine for that exact reason though; whens the last time youve seen a 83 cavalier (mines a convertible)?
