Notice, please, how Dizzy always gave room to his performers and never stole the limelight for himself, allthough he easily could! I simply love the man and his humor, which we in our days sorely misses!
Dizzy.I will always remember our meeting at Birdland in 1955.Your jazz interpretations were.iconic and I had the great privilege of enjoying some memorable conversation.with you I salute your memory.
My uncle Bob from Indy is a huge music buff... he also listens Dizzy Gillespie and gives interesting facts about jazz bands and other music related stuff.
I never knew James Moody and Kenny Barron were ever in Dizzy's group. What a talented bunch of geniuses on stage st the same time!!!! This recording was once in a lifetime!
That’s when America was great!! My parents day… mom turns 100 in September… totally with it and has all her faculties. One of the Last of a great classy generation
this is the lovely group that Dizzy led for a number of years. Kenny Barron piano, Chris White bass, Rudy ? drums, James Moody alto. I apologize for letting Rudy's last name slip away from my feeble brain. It's hard to express how great this group was and how much fun it was to see and hear them.
Thank you Donna, I had the privilege of seeing Kenny Barron at the Port Townsend Jazz festival, James Moody at Ravinia (Chicago) and Dizzy in Vancouver, all were fantastic!
Sergio Mendes also pretty well with this note sambal, especially his two female duet lead singers. Now if these two same lead singers from Sergio Mendes, would of lead Dizzy Gillespie, these classical bluesy jazz version would of sound more awesomely and surprisingly a lot more better sensational as into the better mixture.

Yes. All of them have their room for improvisation. Wonderful!

Wow. Just wow.
Moody just effortless and understated with all his solos, love it
Listen to that playing. My goodness. This is bliss. I'm tellin' you somethin'...

One of the Best version i have heard.
You're telling me.
Obrigada.
I love how gracefully Dizzy gives the scene to somebody Else, he is by far my all time champ Mr. Gillespie!
A timeless piece indeed

Bravo👏🏻
Man what a diciplined band, incredible
Dizzy Gillespie--one of the greatest jazz trumpeters ever, but also a great performer, and a wonderful human being.
Yeah I remember reading that he wanted to create a society free form racism, hate etc but where people just get along and act like humans.
Had the privledge of seeing Dizzy on one of his last tours, that horn was sure loud on the high notes.

Bossa Nova! Brasil!
This samba!
Gorgeous!
Bossa nova became universal style
The bass is raw

Marvelous musical friendship!!
Merveilleux ... maravilhoso
Spirit
There's something quite surreal about watching Dizzy play just one note for a, relatively, long period of time =)
Hehe.. maybe it had been a Miles citation :)
Aw man, shucks.... SUPERHUMANS! Thanks, Alex.... making my day!
You're welcome, that jam session makes my day too!...
Grate Kanny Baron at the piano, wonderful........ Dizzy is one of the best trumpet players ofall.
Propper music 🎵🎵
Maravilha!!
И актëр и музыкант!
Yes, Roman, Dizzy was very talented indeed. Take care, God bless you.
👏🏾👏🏾
It's an honor to have you here, Ron, you're a legend, I'm a huge fan of yours. Take care, God bless you.
SO cool. What would Mozart react hearing his 'magic flute' here? lol
Goddamn the tightness of the lift at 7:52 between these players ...
🎶😀💚🌷
💟💟💟
"...James Moody, you can come on in and you can blow now if you want to we're through..."
Yeah, I also remember George Benson's line at the end of his "Moody's Mood" rendition.
👍👍👍
All the music was happening when I was a Kid
Afinidade Álbum - Bossa Nova 🌺 Composer Brazilian Fabio Valente
Enjoy New Generation Bossa Nova too, Thanks
Did they improvise? Jazz is complicated and beautiful and soothing.
Yes, they did indeed!
💙🌺🌱🙄

The first flute player I have seen who isn't female.
Seriously? You've never seen Dave Valentin, Herbie Mann, Joe Farrell, or Hubert Laws? Interesting.
Crisp 0 flaws
Gigi Gryce!
Whoops. James Moody. Had to get it straight - I want to transcribe his solo. Soulful beauty.
Somethin's wrong with the audio......like at 6.20 you can barely hear Dizzy.....French sound- engineers at Olympia suck.
Olympia's French TV guys suck ;) 1965 man, not today's 24 digital tracks gear
Purrete hey Nat, small world!!!xxx
Laurent Salini chhm
Who is playing flute?
Mary Wylie James Moody
@@nicebellbo1 So good!!!
and who want all the notes: D, E, F, G, A, B, C
always has none notes, stay in only one note
this is ..FUCK LABELS
To me Miles was great but dizzy was better let's argue
why can't jazz players just play the right notes?
Because they choose to be right
Because anything Else is better
There are no "right" notes. If the music is good, its good. Nothing else.
Are you really that tone deaf?
@@alsuz Eu sei.
Escute as notas. Si isso é Bossa Nova.
