Flexon Eyewear: Tough Enough for Everything

  • Can your frames do this? We put Flexon frames to the test. We stepped on them, put them in a vice, wrapped them around a kettle bell, put them through the dryer, slammed them with a mallet, and ran them over with a motorcycle. Then we picked them up and put them on...like nothing ever happened
So how is this even possible? Flexon frames feature technologically advanced memory metal that’s tough enough to be flexed, bent or twisted-yet resilient enough to return back to its original shape. Learn more at www.flexon.com.
Disclaimer: The frames can take a beating, but your lenses may be less forgiving. So don't try any of these at home.

Owned flexon for 15 years now and they are amazing. I sit on them all the time and they remain perfect. Loved Nike Flexon.

had mine for 6 months now and have to show off how cool they are to friends all the time, hoping they would get the same brand. (had no problems with them returning to original shape at all the frame is a good as day 1) Thank you Flexon for awesome strong glasses frames.

I just returned a set I bought in March 2018 that broke on the nose bridge during cleaning. they did not warranty them but did offer to replace for $139. So we agreed to that price and picked up the new pair yesterday 11/11/2019. that evening I was holding by the right side arm and it snapped off. I have been wearing glasses for 50 years and never broke a frame, I do buy Giorgio Armani frames whenever I can. Flexon seem to be brittle they are nothing like the video, I cant believe I bought two pair of the same brand that are defective. I will find out how the third pair is when they call to inform they are ready......cheers

I had a Nike Flexon frame for only 7 months - it broke at the nose bridge after just cleaning the lenses gently. Then I Googled "Nike Flexon broke" and saw many others having the same issue around 1.5 years they will just "break".

I wouldn't wear anything else, but having said that, they are not indestructable. I got smacked with a hardball right at the bridge of my nose a few years back and one of the nose pad fixtures broke off. I had to send them off for repair.

I am on my fifth pair of expensive glasses. After around six months the screws always came out (the eyeglass store employee told me that I need to tighten the screws every week), and the metal always snapped near the hinge. I have been earnestly thinking about the Flexon frames. How durable are they near the hinge? Also, do I need to tighten the screws weekly? I hope I get a response before I go to sleep, as I have an early eye appointment for my glasses. Thank you.

Sorry for the very late reply. I have been buying Nike flexon frames for many years. They have been super durable for me. Locally the frames were quoted add approximately $250. I was able to check my old records to obtain the size I need. Just bought a brand new pair on eBay for $62. Good luck!

Hi Alex, did you receive these Flexon brand glasses through a VSP Network doctor? If so, they may be under warranty for up to two years. VSP Vision Care customer service may be able to help. If you did not get them through VSP, you can reach out the manufacturer, Marchon Eyewear, to see if they are covered by their warranty. -VSP

Too flexible a frame may not be a good thing. Prefer something rigid and solid, but fit perfectly onto face. Important is well-fitting size and frame, not wriggly springy frame. In other words, the frame should fit you perfectly, not you trying to fit into the frame by having a flexible frame.

Call a store in the United States and ask them if they will ship to you. I am sure that you will have to pay all the shipping cost.

My flexon titanium unbreakable frames broke while hand cleaning after only one year. The only frames I've ever broken and while cleaning them? Seriously? Won't buy again. I don't recommend Flexon.

They have saved my eyes from bird strikes more than once. Two places that they will fail. 1. the temple hinges 2. the nose pads. I still have a pair of Autoflex 2s that are usable. Have had several pairs of 10s and even a 1 but like I said the hinges will wear out on them and the temples will get sloppy and then it is time for a new pair.
The frames that were made in Japan were the best. China is not as good.

I have new ones, the paint flaked off in a few months, but the metal doesn't break, chip, fracture, or anything. My puppy has already chewed them and they have survived. How have yours "broken"?

These tests can't be tried at home because the glasses you get actually break :)

    • @vspvisioncare
      @vspvisioncare  6 лет назад +4

They can be tried at home, but nowadays everything has to have a legal disclaimer, so we officially don't recommend it. However, those are the before and after pictures of the frames we used during the tests. It is worth noting that your lenses would probably be in pretty bad shape if you ran them over with a motorcycle...no matter how durable the frame may be.

      > nowadays everything has to have a legal disclaimer
No, everything does not *require* a disclaimer. There is no law requiring these disclaimers... you folks chose to put them in your video. Your disclaimers negate the message of the video and tell us that your company is overrun with sheep pretending to be leaders.
