Elder Bennett came to my mission some 7 years ago. He is a humble and powerful servant of God. His teachings and service had a profound impact on me and our mission. I love you Elder Bennett!
this was a beautiful talk and made me understand more about getting my patriarchal blessing.
I understand his anxiety, having been there.
I just received a reprint after being away from the church for many years. After my baptism a couple of years ago I felt inspired to get it and prayerfully reading it.

Many leaders felt differently about my desire to receive a patriarchal blessing when I was 12 years old. Needless to say, this talk resonated with me. Those leaders loved me and I knew it and wondered if my desires were in line with my Father in Heaven's desire for me. Still I persisted to get my blessing. My blessing confirmed that my heart was in the right place and my desires were strong. The end result was that my patriarchal blessing boosted my spiritual self-confidence in ways that I would not see when it was received, but are so evident to me now. I was taught not only my lineage, but my gifts, my fore ordinations, and all the things that were wanted for me. To say deep love is the feeling of that blessing seems weak. I hope everyone has a desire to not only get their blessing but to study and ponder it and cross-reference it. Adding my testimony to these wonderful thoughts! Thank you Elder Bennett!!! And thanks to Heavenly Father and His Son and their Guide for this man's humble witness!

Well, a controversial subject. In the past you paid for a blessing from the patriarch. How spiritual is that ? A few years after Jo Smith. My friend received two because she felt like the patriarch was not inspired for her. Mine? Many false statements about health and other things. I try to Live the commandments but no longer buy into the blessing thing. ... Just my experience. I put as much weight into patriarchal blessings as garments protect you from harm/danger. You have several paths you can take to learn the many lessons we are here to learn.

Do you know a patriarchal blessing is not just for here on earth it’s for our next level so go get it. Just do it. You deserve it and even when your life is crazy at this age, it may give you some peace of mind and greater understanding of what you’re meant to do or to be or many different things I can’t explain how precious mine is to me as I watch this talk, I was also getting my patriarchal blessing so that I could reread it and each time I read it. It’s like it changes it’s like when you read scriptures and you read them again and you seem to get a little more different from it it’s lovely to read, and a guide for your heart mind and soul
