Your visit and the presentation of Ajanta Caves dated 2nd century B.C.. to 7 century A.D are very well presented.
Images, Carvings, Fresco’s, from cave No. 1 to Cave No. 26 are very intricate. And specially cave No. 7 the most Fascinating because of 100 images of Lord Buddha. Cave No. 26 PariNirvana Buddha and the center of the cave has a image of seated Buddha inside the stupa , Heads off to the carvers. Amazing.

As very rightly pointed out by you, this is such a beautiful heritage, which could be discovered by chance. India is full of such heritage wealth, which needs to be maintained and publicised so that the world knows about the same and people come and have a look at these amazing places. India needs to not only maintain them but infrastructure should be improved at other attractions also to invite visitors towards all such places throughout India. 🙏
