Another excellent story from a terrific series! I had hoped to see a story situation in a hotel. It was great that the writer made the point that in a hotel, there would be danger not only from outside, but from sick people staying in the hotel itself. I liked how the writer put into the plot a very real issue-----that in a group, everyone may have their own idea of how to escape. While the idea of having the big, tough vehicle would be great elsewhere, in Manhattan, in the midst of millions of zombies, it is not really workable. Despite what you see in the movies, it is not physically possible for anything except a tank to mow down hundreds of human bodies in one place. One or two, sure, but hundreds? No. the crowd would inevitably slow the vehicle or make it crash. and the idea of using the sewers kind of stinks----no pun intended. First, the sewer is not passable on foot in all areas. And then, you would be literally coating yourself in unbelievable filth, in a world where running water no longer exists, and disease and infection are major threats. Against all odds, they make it and even find other survivors. With such a good group, it seems like they have a good chance of making it long term. We can only root for them and hope they make it! Terrific story!

The zombies are already in new York, you can see them everywhere! Especially in the
subways, they seem to like it down there
I've started to no notice that thru all the stories i listen to, all different authors, 1 thing stays the same-(well apart from the obvious)-it's always the character's trying to contact family and friend. No one ever receives calls!! And yes i know i'm going to get quoted 'signal, amount of calls being made' etc. When it calms down and 1 manages to get through, there is never anyone who receives a call!!
That's a good point, however in this particular case NYC is getting hit first due to the way the virus spread. However you just gave me an idea....
Since most stories are based on the character being out of town/home and trying to go back it kinda makes sense…
Much less stories are centered around “they were prepper in their bunler, when SHTF they just locked the doors and waited for things to go back to normal”
Avoid Yonkers, zombies love fighting there

Has there been deaf survivors yet?
There hasn't been yet, however I have notes on a potential day zero story. Just haven't gotten to it yet.
Unfortunately, I think it is likely that anyone who has any kind of disability, or who is older, or too young, or simply not very active, would be among the first to die in such a disaster.

I listened to another book all dead series and on one of the books this guy jody meets a deaf girl like a few months in the apocalypse

These are the kinds of characters that I can get behind. The women actually contributed something to the story. They were not brainless or helplessness. Each character felt developed and reacted in real ways. Great job from the beginning to the end.
