That porsche in the beginning = every single Toyota/Tesla in the city... Race car speeds in the slow lane, but -20mph in the fast lane. You can never pass them in the city.
im not sure if its a good technique but when i hit corners in fwd i decelerate and once i make it to the corner i full throttle and in my experience it really minimizes understeer
The Integra Type-S (MT) and the BMW G80 M3 (MT) are the two best daily drivers on the market for luxury sport sedans. I got the G80 M3 with a manual transmission and absolutely love it but I would have seriously considered the Integra Type-S if it wasn’t FWD… shame.
7:51 This is why I don't understand people "upgrading" the front brakes on the Type R/S. Sure there are better calipers but I feel like you should be spending money upgrading dozens of other things before dropping a few thousand on new brakes for these cars when pads and fluid are seemingly totally sufficient. At least hardware-wise the front Brembos seem pretty great.
I have a 1.5T Integra with 4kg F / 8kg R spring rates, I tried 6kg and 7kg rear springs first before biting the bullet and going to 8. I first tried out the Type R rear sway bar but it wasn't quite enough rear bar for me. Went to the Eibach 25mm RSB and on the stiff setting the car feels great. It is way more responsive to steering inputs and there is definitely rotation when you want it. I think you'd really like the car with a stiffer RSB.
Really been enjoying your videos and the progression of your work with the car You seem to be on a mission to make it a satisfying track day car Is it rewarding to drive? I can’t tell if you are enjoying it or tolerating it. Regardless you are presenting a much more unvarnished review than all the fanboys from the typical channels (SG, throttle, straight pipes, smoking tire, etc). I often wonder if the lack of an alternative is its greatest strength.
@@ZygreneI run bigger rear sway bar and reverse stagger, 255/40r17x9+28 front, 245/35r18x8.5+43 rear, just enough to keep turn in during mid turn / lift throttle, avoiding understeer on my RSX. If I tracked it I would go 265 front 235 rear.
Great driving! We got a 1:40.8 in a nearly stock Elantra N MT last year. You drove the Veloster instead of my car. Perhaps you can take it out now that it’s even faster. We’re sub 2 at Buttonwillow.
Nice driving Fenton and congrats on the new PB! Side note, I get the same Catalyst video pixelation. Unsure if it has to do with how I save the file, one lap versus session or if it’s something to do with iMovie. Either way, it’s annoying.
I have a Type R but have not had a chance to track it yet. It looked like your highest speeds at Laguna Seca were a little over 100mph. Do ever get to 6th gear and what gear are you in the majority of the time at that track?
Did you change the dumpers settings? That would be the first thing to do with such harsh front understeer. Also if you actually listen to the garmin advises😅... Love your videos
Very nice driving and times. Which fwd STOCK new car has the quickest time around Laguna Seca? I saw a video saying the 2024 Elantra N DCT has the quickest time ?
Are you having any issues with oil temps running full 20 min sessions? Have run into that on my FL5 and pwr radiator helps, but still looking into other cooling solutions
I recently sat in an Integra at the NY Auto Show, and was reminded about how flat/hard the Integra seat bottoms felt. I imagine it doesn't matter much during a track session, but longer drives?
@@PaintflowException Oh, yeah...I sat in a CTR at the Auto Show, and holy cow, those seats were soooooo comfy. I said to myself, "yup, all the reviewers were right about that point at least!"
personally the flat botton and hard seat don't affect me as much (I drive mine 100 miles a day to and from work, and just came back from a long trip from NYC to Boston and back). however my friend got rid of his Integra because the seat bottom was something he could not get used to with his bad back. So i guess it depends on your body type and tolerance for certain things
You used to have such fast hands on the steering wheel with the BRZ (catching oversteer) . What happened to you? Have you aged rapidly? 😂 No giggles anymore either. Are you enjoying the FWD track experience?
I still enjoy the Integra a lot. I do miss power oversteer but FF presents its own set of challenges and I'm enjoying the learning experience. Someday I'll get another FR track car though
You may have mentioned this elsewhere, but do you completely turn off traction control or just hit the button? I recently got out on my first track day and could not feel a difference with it on.
Jesus Christ not even 2 minutes into the video. What is it with Porsche guys?? If you can buy a Porsche you can afford a f----ing coach. Had a SCCA TNiA and everyone was getting held up by a GT3. Everyone let it slide because this was in the novice group but he was asked to leave after the second session. Autocross guy in a S2k had his first session mogged.
Straight back to beginner group for that Porsche. smh.

Nice work. Throttle control out of corners with FWD is so important

Couldn't agree more. Brakes (other than pads/fluid) are the last thing I would change on this car, unless I'm adding a significant amount of power.
@@Zygrenewhat about rotors?
For stock ish power you don't even need that. Just fluids and pads@@zhengyuanzhang7471
The pain of driving turbo 4 cylinder. We cant hear our own cars on track!
Unbelievable power band from that Honda.
Congratulations on the new PB. Love the content!
One of my new favorite channels. Keep on Keeping on!
Is that GT3 a .1? Dude must be keeping the RPMs low to not blow his engine 🤣😭

All this and a comfy daily too? Tough to beat 😅
It's truly a dual purpose vehicle!

I wonder if you would get better results with skinny tire in the back
I wonder the same. Old school FF time attack cars all had massive reverse staggers

Take delivery of my ITS in mid-May...very excited. Also, envious as hell that you get to drive Laguna Seca for real! I only get to drive it on sims 😂

What pads and fluid are you running again? Nice driving
Man that cooling scare would have had me spooked. But it looked like once your inputs leveled out things stayed cool
Thats a beautiful race day
Love this track on GT. had no idea public could use these tracks.
Yes , this and Road Atlanta are a close second to only the nurburgring. Misha Charoden is my hero

Hoping to take my Integra A-spec to Laguna Seca! Did you have to get a tow hook custom fabricated?

Are you long press traction control with brake vectoring or pedal dance full off ?
Now all it needs is something to make the exhaust louder! It sounds like a 1.5 engine lol

You need a phearable custom tune and cooling mods real bad.

I always disable it fully using the pedal dance
Is it a rule that you have to keep your windows down when you track your car? Never done it before, just curious
In the US you're required to drive windows down for point by's.
What’s the Garmin voice thing you have? I’d like to know the gps/timer tablet as well plz!

Why was a slow driver asked to leave? Doesn't seem right. Track days are for learning and practicing.
So then let the fast drivers overtake
Apply more pressure to the GT car and get closer. Your entry into turn 2 on that first hot lap was nice.
I'm pretty wary around other cars at track days. Never know what could happen when people drive erratically.
