I remember when this came out everyone was surprised how genuine the song was lyrically considering they're a comedy act.
Looking back on this song years later I think it's still very heartfelt and bittersweet. Even if it has funny lines it still feels like a legit heart ache song.

A) if a girl/boy isnt attracted to you how is that her fault?! Why would you demonise her for that?
B) if you claim that you were 'too nice' or you're a 'nice guy' that doesn't mean that people should be obligated to be attracted to you. People aren't machines that you put kindness coins into until sex falls out
C) if you were a 'nice guy' you wouldnt get so angry when you someone isnt attracted to you. It means that you were only nice so that someone would like you, that kinda makes you the douche

The friend zone does actually exist, it is a plane in between friends and dating. It's in the middle because a guy would want to go out with a girl but the girl says they're just friends, and vise versa.
Plus the only thing you did was list the types of people and why other people like them for it. If a guy likes a girl and he wants to go out and the girl thinks of him as just a friend, then he is in the friendzone

Maker Studios treated YFM like shit and tried to force them to give them 75% of profits by deleting projects and albums. As a side note, the CEO got drunk with Ray and said he was a convicted felon and Ray didn't know this and probably wouldn't have accepted the contract if he had that information. A few months ago Disney bought Maker Studios and i believe amended with Ray but the project is too stale for it to be picked up again.

Pretty much is a myth guys. You put yourself in it if you believed that you deserved more than being friends, but thats your own problem. Must suck to not be interesting to them, but don't be a whiny kid about it. And unrequited love can be solved by confession and dealing with the consequences. If you walked away from it all or just accept the situation as it is, the the "friendzone" feeling will be replaced in time. Whoa, there was a lot of assumptions thrown in there. Let me try to be brief. This isn't about blaming someone for the fact you can't be with them. They guys and girls who do that are being shitty. This isn't about trying to guilt someone into a relationship, the guys and girls who do that are being shitty. And it isn't even saying that person should be attracted to you.
It is OKAY to be a bit upset that someone you really like does not like you as long as you don't obsess or go blaming that person. I very much dislike how the friendzone has been twisted by certain people to be some sort of tool for making people feel bad for not wanting to ride their pole but that does not mean that every guy who says the term is whining.
The friend zone: Person A likes person B. Person B is aware of how Person A feels but is not interested in the same way. Person A still wants to be friends but because they know each other so well it is very unlikely Person A will ever change their mind. And because Person B knows what it's like being around Person A , they aren't either.
Whether the interest is purely romantic, purely sexual or both it would still be the friend zone. But people love to focus on one both the people complaining about being in there(admittedly mostly guys) or the people who insist it doesn't exist because they are only listening to the former.

Meh, I've never been friendzoned before, but if that was the case, I'd just stop being their friend. I mean if someone you really like rejects you and you're hurting from it, the ideal thing to do would be to forget about him/her, move on and find a girl/guy who likes you as much as you like her/him. You can't really do that if the person you're trying to forget is always around you, so yeah, just stop being friends with them so you can move on. I know others would probably think you're a bad person for doing this but it's actually pretty fair. If the person dated you just to be a nice friend, they'd be miserable. If you stayed friends with them after being friendzoned, you'd be miserable. You can't have that person as a romantic relationship, they can't have you as a friend. It's fair, at least in my opinion.
I rather let nature play it out. I believe that if certain people are meant to be in my lives then it will happen regardless. Then there are some who are meant to be in our lives for a short while and they won't be with us forever no matter how hard we try.
There are some women I manage to be friends with again and some that ended up going our separate ways. At the end of the day everyone just has to do what's best for themselves.

I think a LOT of the people on here don't realize what the "friend zone" is. It's simply when one person CLEARLY likes another, but the person they like doesn't have the guts to just say "This isn't going to happen. I don't like you like that." and instead, they string them along and let them keep their hopes up. This is one of the best songs ever made by YFM, Ray and the other dudes voice is amazing and the memories i have with this song and how relatable it can be at times. Huge throwback
