Depeche Mode is amazing. They've been through so much. Despite all the challenges, it's Martin's word smiting mixed with Dave drowning vocals. Honestly, as a 40 year fan of DM, I was utterly stunned they made it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Like The Cure the year before, we were all baffled. I guess with hard work and dedication a few kids from Baliston (East London) can change the world.
In the late 80s as a young teen I think I had a hole in the cassette tape from having this on repeat. One of the best songs ever! So good to hear it again.

I discovered DM in '82/'83, only heard what KROQ in LA was playing and I loved it. Began night clubbing in '84 til about '89 and got to hear the DJ mixes but still no album cuts. Here I am in my 60's finding so many fabulous DM songS for the first time, life is good.

I used to listen the remastered album, and this track was there, but when I discovered that wasn't part of the original press I was way too surprised. That's a masterpiece, unbelieveble they made It a B-side.

Totally agree, DM was never that same after Alan left, he was truly the music IMO. Alan Music, Gore lyrics, and Gahan voice/front man. But when you hear his stories, he really had to go, David was making it too much for him.

In my opinion, their best b-side ever, it should have been on Violator, imagine that album to be 10 perfect tracks - instead of 9 tracks, 9 tracks album seems like incomplete, they should have asked me for an advice :-D
RobinPM100 well said, this actually tops 3 songs on Violator in my opinion. album does seem short...Kaleid, Sea of Sin, Happiest Girl, and Memphisto were all B sides that could have made the album. Violator could have been 12 tracks and even more epic.
IMO 2nd bext b-side - still this World In My Eyes / Happiest Girl / Sea Of Sin is better BUT the fact that all these were left off from Violator...amazing what kind album Violator would have been with ALL these b-side included? Violator is as it is - the best album ever (that could have been even better with all these b-side "leftovers"?)
I could take all the DM b-sides and still come up with a multi-disc anthology which would be far better than anything else I have heard. Then wonder about their A-sides. Nuff Said! Band of the Universe !

I used to listen the remastered album, and this track was there, but when I discovered that wasn't part of the original press I was way too surprised. That's a masterpiece, unbelieveble they made It a B-side.
This song shows the musical genius Alan Wilder has. I miss this since he left Depeche. Although I love Recoil, I'd be grateful and happy for him work with them once again
Totally agree, DM was never that same after Alan left, he was truly the music IMO. Alan Music, Gore lyrics, and Gahan voice/front man. But when you hear his stories, he really had to go, David was making it too much for him.

well said, this actually tops 3 songs on Violator in my opinion. album does seem short...Kaleid, Sea of Sin, Happiest Girl, and Memphisto were all B sides that could have made the album. Violator could have been 12 tracks and even more epic.

IMO 2nd bext b-side - still this World In My Eyes / Happiest Girl / Sea Of Sin is better BUT the fact that all these were left off from Violator...amazing what kind album Violator would have been with ALL these b-side included? Violator is as it is - the best album ever (that could have been even better with all these b-side "leftovers"?)
