We used to go to City Nights from the valley(2 hr drive, one way) just to listen to Cameron spin the night away. When I found out he had passed from cancer, I cried like I had lost an old friend, which in essence, I did, like so many others that had the privilege of meeting, seeing or recording him on tape. RIP CAMERON, THANK YOU FOR MAKING LIFE FUN. ALL MY LOVE & RESPECT TO HIS SISTER & FAMILY.
Viva Studio West. This was the please to be and witness one of the greatest DJ on wheel to wheel "mixing and scratching just for you". This words are from the master of mixing Mr. CAMARON PAUL.
Thank you for being my mentor... Because of you.. I've been at 4 different radio stations here on California.. I will never forget the times... From San Francisco to LA we have a great time and thank you...,RIP😟
Wow, I was a DJ at several alternative clubs in the San Jose area for more than 10 years. I remember Cameron Paul's"This is Only a Test" and I owned dozens of Razormaid Remixes. Those were great years of my life, I'm an original "Back in the Day" girl...
C.P. didn't use software like today. He used those samples mechines with four track to get that multi songs with his two turntables. His mixes will always be GOLD!
He was truly amazing. I first heard his mixes at studio west in 1983 to 1985 approximately. His choice of new wave disco and the be of hip hop was inventive
Shout out to DJ Cameron Paul's family and friends, who made my senior year 1986 the best mixes on Kmel back in the days in the Bay Area .May Paul rest in Heavenly peace and his mixes live on always..love your fan Crissy Ruiz Napa High School 86 rocks
Cameron Paul inspired a lot of kids to be DJ'S. Where ever he is he should know he made this dj love music, mixing, CUTTING & SCRATCHING, AND of course giging hard in 1986-91! Peavy SP2's from Music Unlimited and the old school CS-800 AMP. the old school helicopters and real 12" police beacons...haha at 15 years old and renting speakers from wayne Rodriquez aka DJ SCRATCH ....AHHH FRESHHHH......we were in a different time.... the glory days of Vinyl and 1200's... daaaammmmmmmm
Dammn CP's music was the soundtrack to some of the best years of my life (18-21)!! We literally used to go to City Nights every week to watch him cut it up! You were first big time DJ I ever knew and you put the Bay on the map! You will be missed but not forgotten. RIP Cameron Paul!! Thank you!
I love the depth and sheer number of tracks that have been mixed together here, often simultaneously or in quick succession. Ones made nowadays, even when they are retro old-school mixes, tend to only include the top songs that are still remembered today but miss all the layers of sound samples from the C and D list songs or from alternate genres that you hear here.
30 years ago. Way b4 remix software was common. A mind blowing mix that STILL bangs! No mix should be THIS dang good!!! Track selections. Transitions. Effects. Cameron Paul y'all.
Man, I don't even know what to say. One of the greatest part of my childhood was listening to his mixes on KMEL. Trying all these different tricks to get the station clear because I lived so far away. Just imagining how this guy was djing, since I was too young to actually see him at the clubs. Prayers
I know that's right. Listening on my walkman till the early morn. Holding it up so I can get that signal. The struggle was real. Thank you Cameron for sharing your gift with the world.
Still solid.. I needed this tonight.. Heck yeah!! Thanks CT for the post and damn... I miss Cameron! He definitely would love knowing we are still jammin out! 💕👍
Rip Cameron, I remember your mixed tapes ,dam we couldn’t wait to get a hold of them, they’re goldmine wish I had one still ,Dam they used an will still Bump .. Thank you For the Great memories Rip
30 yrs ago, when considering DJing and the potential of 2 turntables, I was introduced to the world of remixes and CP with this track. Track selection, transitions, and effects are ALL on point. CP set an unbelievable standard!!
Anyone have any idea which edit of the song Rock me Amadeus was used in this mix?? I have it on a mix tape off the radio back from 1987 and the whole song has tobs of edits, like a club version. I'm thinking it's a white label. Any info much appreciated

What version of Talk to Me by Chico Debarge did he use for this mix?
*Nooner* - IHMR 136.5 - (Cameron Paul - In The Mix 86' - Mixx - It)!
What is the backbeat at 10:43? Not Midas touch but the other beat.
You can find it on The song Summertime Summertime by Nocera :-)
Thanks!
The 12" vinyl single has two DUBS on the B-side.
Oh yeah - wasn't it like North and South? Oh Soft and Hard! LOL
North and South was on a Judy Torres track. Oops!
