I wish it was as simple as “white” or “wheat” bread, but it’s not. You might want to see this video on the bread types 👉 ruclips.net/video/f9r7Iv2Sq4E/видео.html It’s at about 2:05 into the video. How did your order end up going?
I work at a Subway currently, and there is a different way that Subway employees like to hear you order. He was pretty good and because of he was filming, I won't say he took a long time to order, but most Subway employees do not like it when you take a really long time to order. It stops the flow of service. Anyway, here's how I (and probably most Subway employees) like to hear you order a sandwich: I would like a six-inch/footlong of "insert sandwich here" (Italian BMT, Spicy Italian, etc.)" on "insert bread here (Italian, Honey Oat, Wheat, Italian Herbs and Cheese)" with "Insert Cheese here (different Subways have different options for cheese)" toasted/not toasted. This way we know exactly what to do with the sandwich and won't have to ask you as many questions. Instead the only questions will be for add-ons (like guac, bacon, double cheese, or double/ deluxe meat (which means half of what a footlong/six inch is)). The veggie side is ok to take some time on since there is no set way you have to build your sandwich. Anyway, this is just my two cents to a video that is a bit old, but from the view of a Subway employee
I got confused yesterday when I ordered the meals at Subway in Australia. I'm going to that place again, so I find this video to study. Thanks! It helps a lot.

I live in Russia and wanted to watch if ordering a sub in America was any different. actually I still don't know. for instance, we can freely choose bread, meat, veggies and sauces and combine them however we want. is that the same in America or are you locked in with certain types of items, e.g. I saw it says "Sweet Onion Teriyaki Chicken". can I get a teriyaki chicken sandwich without sweet onion?
Great question. It’s actually a combined teriyaki sauce. That is the full name. It is not separate. For the most part, you can freely choose in the U.S.
Would you please do a video in dali department and how order the different cheese, turkeys, hams. Also the side they need to cut. The different way the American people ordering in the dali department. Thank you.
you know youve reached rock bottom when you have to search up “how to order at subway.” never in my life would i think that ordering a damn sandwich would be this hard
@@ESLWithPurpose i went to subway it surprisingly went pretty smooth. only issue was that i stood at the cash register instead of at the end to pick out the bread but otherwise it was all good! thanks for the video :D
Thank you for sharing. Even native English speakers struggle with ordering at restaurants. I call it "menu shock." That means there are many choices when ordering and it can feel overwhelming and confusing. LOL.
Yes, Subway may be different in each country. I think they contextualize the kinds of toppings they use in various countries. Pizza Hut and other major American restaurant chains are the same. When we lived in Taiwan, they had lobster and other seafood on the pizza. They do not do this in the United States. :)
I go to Subway all the time there's even a drive threw in my city with a touchscreen no interactions needed just click your sub and what u want on it and drive forward and take it
First time I ordered subway when I was out of my country that I completely lost and was just pointing my finger to the chicken and say yes to everything the worker offer. After I took my order out I was feeling like an idiot.
I am a native English speaker and this still makes me nervous. I have never been in a Subway to place my order and I feel if I went in with a flyer showing exactly which sub I wanted they would still ask exactly what I wanted on it which would seem strange to me since it's in the flyer ad. Do they know how to make every individual sub or do they ant you to tell them every ingredient?
They typically say, “what do you want on it?” Even though you might say, “I’d like an Italian B.M.T., they might put the meat on it, but they will ask, “what kind of cheese?” You can then specify additional toppings. That said, some of the hot sandwiches like the meatball sub you could say, “just make it standard or regular.” They usually know how to make the menu branded subs. It honestly depends on the employee helping you.
Hello, thanks for your vid lol, i didn't need this vid in the means of learning english cause i'm fluent, but because of social anxiety lol. Also it's insane that a subway sandwich before was only 4.91 dollars last time i had a subway sandwich it was 15 dollars
How it would feel to create a business model that literally lets your clients order specifically what they want without restrictions but at the same time its the business model that people gets most frustrated with at the time to order. As someone that likes entrepeneurship this really scares me to be honest.
You can let them know you don't want any sauce, or you can watch this video on where to go for sauces at 2:35 in the video: ruclips.net/video/lF6uRwLCp6g/видео.html
I would eat it. “Good” is quite subjective. If someone doesn’t like Mayo, it may not be good. You could give it a try and comment here to let us all know! 🤗
When i order at subway i just tell them what i want and then i tell them again ingredient by ingredient because they forget at the same subway every single day.
Yeah, it can be so confusing. It is helpful to look at their menu online, write down on a notecard with the exact name of the bread, toppings, and dressing or condiments. I hope this helps!
What a shock at Subway store in Beamsville, Ontario. One-half litre of water sells for $3.15 ($2.79 + HST-13% = $3.15). Unf.......g believable! Considering that one liter of gasoline costs $1.25, this is a 100% RIP-OFF.................

Thank you.
I will have to find a grocery store that will give me permission, and yes I can try to do a video about this.
you know youve reached rock bottom when you have to search up “how to order at subway.” never in my life would i think that ordering a damn sandwich would be this hard
There are a lot of steps for sure! It can be confusing. You can't just do a "#1" please, so you have to know what ingredients they offer.
@@ESLWithPurpose i went to subway it surprisingly went pretty smooth. only issue was that i stood at the cash register instead of at the end to pick out the bread but otherwise it was all good! thanks for the video :D
amazing video guruji
My English is pretty good but I am still struggling when it comes to ordering something.
Thank you for sharing. Even native English speakers struggle with ordering at restaurants. I call it "menu shock." That means there are many choices when ordering and it can feel overwhelming and confusing. LOL.
Subway sandwich is the best. You can customize the sandwich the way you want and it is affordable.
Yes, but it can be confusing when you order specific toppings and types of bread. 😆
Good information
Glad it helped you!
What i order:
12 inch Italian bread
Steak
Provolone cheese
Toast it
Tomatoes pickles
No sauce.
Try it its good
Sounds tasty.
I think in Malaysia no choices of cheese
Yes, Subway may be different in each country. I think they contextualize the kinds of toppings they use in various countries. Pizza Hut and other major American restaurant chains are the same. When we lived in Taiwan, they had lobster and other seafood on the pizza. They do not do this in the United States. :)
thank you for this! ❤️
You're welcome I hope it helps!
I go to Subway all the time there's even a drive threw in my city with a touchscreen no interactions needed just click your sub and what u want on it and drive forward and take it
Nice!
Thank you very much
I love this Maked me hapy
I don't remember being ask about putting a receipt in the bag.
Good point. I guess it depends on where you go locally.
Thanks 🙏
thank you.. i use your transcript for my student.. is it ok? i hope it works out.
I hope it works out too. Let me know!
Thank you so much for this video!!!
You’re welcome. I hope to make similar ones this summer.
First time I ordered subway when I was out of my country that I completely lost and was just pointing my finger to the chicken and say yes to everything the worker offer. After I took my order out I was feeling like an idiot.
I think many of us have been there when it comes to Subway.
Dude that was awesome 👏 Love it
Thanks!
1:49 would you like your bread toasted?
by the way, they're super sweeet
Thank you
Are we not gonna talk about how he's dressed like Jared from Subway?
😆🤣
I bet Einstein will have difficulty in these type of selections. He'll be saying, make me a selection that explodes. 😂
😂🤣😆
I remember ordering for the first time in subway and they gave me a cold as ice sandwich as well as fillings.
Yuck 🤢 that is no fun. So you had an ice wich? 🤣
@@ESLWithPurpose yeah. So I talk with the staff and had it toast 🤮
Yeah... I actually really like the idea... But its looks kinda confusing, especially for people who never goes to that kind of business
Thank you.
You’re welcome!
What about the bread size? I went to this Subway and they had a large piece of bread and a smaller one.
The half size or smaller piece of bread is called a 6-inch sub sandwich. The larger piece of bread is called a 12-inch sandwich.
What can I say if I don't know which sauce/dressing to choose for my sandwich?
You can let them know you don't want any sauce, or you can watch this video on where to go for sauces at 2:35 in the video: ruclips.net/video/lF6uRwLCp6g/видео.html
Ahh I will just show this vid to employee
🤣😆
Never been to a subway so i just wanted to know how it works. This vid is amazing thx
Is
Italian footlong
American
Steak
Lettuce
Mayo
Good?
I would eat it. “Good” is quite subjective. If someone doesn’t like Mayo, it may not be good. You could give it a try and comment here to let us all know! 🤗
This helped me because I’ve never been before haha
Glad it helped you!
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Joined you. Stay connected.
When i order at subway i just tell them what i want and then i tell them again ingredient by ingredient because they forget at the same subway every single day.
Yep, that happens.
I am too hungry right know and want a subway sandwich. But I am too stressed to go there
Yeah, it can be so confusing.
Good video man 👍
Thank you Najmi! Have you ever ordered from Subway before?
@@ESLWithPurpose Yeah, its been a while for me to take order from subway and today, before I order,I watch your video first to avoid any nervous, hahaha, funny right
@@ahmadnajmiroslan You got this! You can also watch these other videos to prepare: ruclips.net/video/f9r7Iv2Sq4E/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/lF6uRwLCp6g/видео.html
The best.
Thank you!
believe it or not in my country (Costa Rica) they only put 2-3 leaves of spinach and prefer not to tell you more regarding other vegetables... so sad.
That is sad. 😢
toasted = crispy bread
wow thanks
You’re welcome.
Well in here UK I go in and ask for exactly what I want save the sandwich artist asking all the questions. I just feel it's polite.
That is polite! I usually do that as well. Otherwise you will stand there for a long time with what I call “menu shock.” 🤣😆
what do i say if i want a foot long italian bread sandwich with turkey (its a halal shop), lettuce, swiss cheese, and light mayo
It depends on the local language I guess? What you wrote could work. You could say "just a little mayo" or "12-inch sandwich with white bread." Not sure I understand as you kind of said it already?
@@ESLWithPurpose oh ok
