Hungarian style folk music played in the tradition of the Manouche / Sinti gypsies (the tribe to which Gypsy Jazz guitar legend Django Reinhardt belonged to) such as Titi Winterstein, Wedeli Köhler, Martin Weiss, Schnuckenak Reinhardt, etc...
In Hungary, the violin masters are Lajos Boross, Sandor Lakatos, Ferenc Santa, etc...

Eh, a little too lazy. Imo... would sound better a little tighter. But everyone has different vibrato. The only vibrato I don’t criticize is Heifetz, well because he was perfect at everything. PERFECT

Not only violin but guitar rocks. If you are a good player, then probably you observe guitarist's fast transitions after half of the play. Hands down, the best duet I have ever seen :')

Did you notice how the guitarist used his thumb to dampen the A string during his D chord? A very well thought out and practiced rhythm guitar part.

So, I'm not typically a fan a single violin, I love them in large groups but usually not just one violin. Can a violinist please confirm my belief that she is a phenomenal violinist?

I know that I'm above average at best. So, to me, this girl is absolutely incredible but to someone who plays the violin, she might just be better than average.

Huy Nguyen I'm curious about her technical skill not just how she sounds. Technical skills are not very subjective. Of course I interpret the sound of this piece as incredible but an untrained ear could be missing many flaws.

Certain parts of the song were too high to be played on the violin so I played them an octave low and marked it in the tabs with the '8va' symbol. In order for me to play it, I've got my effects set up so that when those parts come up I can essentially flip a switch and have it bump me up an octave. It's not ideal but it works.

I keep listening and all the music reminds me of a yugoslavian singer called Djordje balasevic. I know he was heavily influenced by hungarian music and czardas but this.. I can't believe how much of hungarian folk music he actually took and made something his own out of it or is this just a hearing illusion because some sequences of melody notes I do recognize in his music.
I keep switching back and forth between Djordje balasevic and your guys playlists trying to figure out the similarity. Yet I can't find some of the hungarian folk music when i search on my own using the title of your videos.
Could anyone confirm that djordje just used hungarian folk and put some nice text (his poet skills is what he is famous for in former yugoslavia). Try listen to Djordje balasevic's "Slabo Divanim Madarski" ,
"Devojka sa czardas nogama" (a girl with legs made for czardas)
And for some reason i keep being reminded of Zvonko bogdan's "Splet madjarski", could anyone notice a hungarian folk song in this yugo/hungarian duet or am I just imagining things?
NOTE: The djordje balasevics songs are long with guitar and bass, but try listening after the violin that comes in hard from time to time. And yes, I know Vittorio was Italian
Emir Istina je druže, Balašević je uzimao mađarske folk motive i na njima gradio svoje pjesme, što nije nužno plagijarizam. Nije on neki veliki kompozitor ili muzičar da može napisati nešto radikalno. Đorđe je pjesnik, stavlja fokus na tekst i on to više izrecituje nego što pjeva.

sara j It's experience. After a while of studying jazz you sort of get a feel for where they work. I'm 15 and i already have a slight idea of how this kind of stuff goes together haha. Just practice. A lot.
