  • Our Golden Retriever, called Taïs, the lovely mother of six, educating her puppies, and nicely chasing some, aged 7 weeks, December 2012, Haute-Savoie, France. She's a great dog, very lively, always joyful, and willing to please her owner, who loves her so much.
    The puppies have all found families..

    It’s interesting how adult dog moms know what is “acceptable” dog behavior and can recognize what’s not “acceptable” and then communicate in their canine way to their puppies so that they get in line. I actually find that remarkable and really intelligent.

      Flowerrose121. I agree on that. I have two Labrador they came from Scotland but different areas. But both have a completely different character, the older one loves a cosy quiet lifestyle and never ever pick up anything in his lifetime...while the other loves outdoor activities, picking up newspapers every weekend, chasing the wild boars 🐗 chasing the wild dogs 🐕 always looking for something that he can pick up and bring home 🏡 but mostly garbage from around the house 🏡 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

      Always try to pick out the chill ones. Sometimes you end up with funny traits (our lab didn't like water - first time seeing that, so we didn't push) so you just pat/hug them and tell them you're gonna jump in for a moment and cool off. And they just chill. 😂

    This is something ANYONE getting a dog needs to understand. It's always better to get a puppy that has been exposed to his/her mother for at least the first 6 weeks of his/her life. The mother teaches basic discipline, which enables that dog to better listen and obey your orders when you adopt the puppy. I have three pets, two dogs and a cat. The smaller dog and the cat both were exposed to their mothers before we got them, and they are very obedient and good pets. The other dog? He's a big dog, but was never trained by his mom, and was put in adoption immediately after he was born. To this day, at 8 years old, he's generally well behaved, but not after like 2 years of flat out HEADACHES and frustration due to his wild behavior. Even today, he's still super stubborn and doesn't listen sometimes. That basic discipline wasn't instilled in him early on, unlike my other two pets.

I was able to spend more time with her in her senior years, after taking an early retirement. I'm so grateful for the time we had. She passed December 15, 2013. The pain of her loss is still fresh. I haven't gotten a replacement for her. I never will find one that I loved, as she took my heart with her when she left this world. My Heaven is where she now waits for me. @@76482 I so understand. She treated me with love and kindness. Just today I sat here thinking that I should have given her more treats, and showed her more attention, but you know what? Even if I had, I still would feel I could never fully repay the love she showed me. In hr last few weeks sh would come sit by me, with her chin on top of my thigh and just stare into my eyes. I knew what she was telling me. She looked worried about me. She knew she was dying, and knew that I knew. She was worried about me falling apart. I told her several times how much I loved her, and that I would somehow do life without her. There will never be another like her. When I worked she would get separation anxiety. Wouldn't eat anything unless I gave it to her. I just miss the shit out of her.

      @@damecouleur Spot on. She was my saving grace when I found her under a park bench. @ about 4 months old. We waited for hr master for 3 hours. No one came looking for her. So. I just took her home with me. Best decision I may have ever made. I needed to be needed and she filled the bill.

      Thank you very much for your comment !
      The real name of our dog is Taïs, ( LOF = Livre Origines Françaises )
      and she was absolutely fantastic with her puppies !!!
      And yet, she is sooooooooooooo sweet that she sure had to make an effort to teach them how to behave !
      But she did it, and sooooooo well ... it was a pleasure to have her and watch her with her puppies !
      She's 8 now, and living with three other Golden Retrievers ... all cute, and with different characters !!!

      That is because kids are not stupid. If there is no real physical penalty - pain - for its bad bebavior, a kid soon learns that and does what it wants to, knowing full well mother is just a loud paper tiger. She yells at the kid incessantly, the kid is out of conttol, then tells herself and those around her what a wonderful mom she us. Most mothers are irresponsible - have no clue what their job / duty as a parent is. Which is one of the significant reasons kids shoot up the schools these days.

    • @garychristenson6370
      @garychristenson6370 5 лет назад +4

      "Every parent yells at the kids and kids never listen." That is the dumbest statement in the history of the world. By the way, you need to attend English classes.

    • @garychristenson6370
      @garychristenson6370 5 лет назад +3

      My kids listen. Because they know they will not get a second warning. And they know that if they don't heed the first warning, pain will swiftly follow. And if they continue doing the same bad behavior repeatedly, there won't be any warning at all.
