Yes, in the myths Hathor did all that in her Sekhmet form. To stop her, Re had sent beer mixed with human blood which she drank until she passed out drunk. The story here is close enough to the myth which was likely sourced in real events. The story first appears in part on the Tomb of boy king tut during the 18th Dynasty, and later with Seti I and two of the Rameses in more complete versions . The story actually has roots that may go back to the times of the Pyramids in the 4th Dynasty. The Pyramid Text by Unas, very end of the 5th Dynasty, echoes some of these things but they seem to have been old even then. Ultimately it's about the Devine Right of Kings to kill all their subjects when ever they might revolt. This from the PT by Unas. Utterance 274 (He) whom Unas finds on his way, he will eat him piecemeal. The hnt-pelican announces (sr), the ennead(psD.t)-pelican comes out. The Great One rises. The enneads speak: completely dammed-off shall be the land. 279: The two ridges of the mountain (on both sides of the Nile valley) shall be united. The two banks of the river will be joined. The roads will be hidden from the passers-by. The steps (rwd.w) will be annihilated for those who go up. Make tight the rope (of the boat), sail the road of heaven! Strike the ball on the meadow of Hapi (Apis)! Everyone skips that part by and goes to the Cannibal Hymn. It gets no explanations from Egyptologists. Just sits there hoping no one notices. There are other more subtle indicators that Unas flooded the Nile through out what was the first Pyramid Text.
The visual, the extremely fine detailed knowledge of Egyptian Mythology, the Narration, is just so spellbinding, I need more. Thankyou M.A.
