playing an instrument its magic, taking a moment of your day and start playing, becoming part of the flow state, a place where theres no anxiety, depression, bad thoughts or whatever, just being present, thats happiness, love of my life, the music
I would personally love to see you tour with a band. But it can be very hard. It's an adventure for sure! One of us drummers big beefs (in convo's, on forums, etc.) with youtube cover artists is when they seem to only do covers in their homes by themselves and never play with others. I would love to see you tour, but even playing regularly with a local band would be cool if you don't already. Playing with other musicians makes you so much better, especially when your band does all originals and you get to come up with unique drum parts. Plus you makes life long friends and musical collections and get to be a part of a local seven you are connection with. Plus meeting people and networking leads to gigs and paying work! Keep thumping those tubs! Cheers!

Damn, I've been dealing with "clinical" anxiety for about 5 years (since around Grade 8) and I'm also getting therapy for it, and thinking about asking my doctor for medication. Seeing someone I look up to so much going through the same thing reminds me everyday that I'm not alone, and seeing someone who's seemingly doing alright with anxiety makes me feel a bit happy. I hope you have more happy days ahead, and I can't wait to watch more of your videos. Thank you!

I relate so much to the hair thing as a female with long hair. My hair is very thick so when I go to march at school (I play in drumline and am the drumline captain) I just throw it into a messy ponytail. And when I play drumset I just let it do whatever it wants. I’m only 17, only been playing drums for 5-6 years, and have already given up on my hair.

watching your videos makes me miss playing my set. I started playing drums in 96 with just a snare. then in jr high I played in the marching band for 3yrs (played the only triple marching drums in the band)and was gifted my drum set from my grandma which I used to learn how to play some Metallica and KISS songs. I didn't play in my high school marching band BUT I did take my set over to a fellow student's house and would just jam and play covers. As soon as I get space to put my set back out I'm definitely getting back on the seat and get back into it. keep up the great videos

@@KristinaSchiano NP. I know how debilitating the waves can be. Believe me I didn't like the acupuncture idea in the beginning but it really does calm the nerves and the sensations. Look for a Chinese acupuncturist. Keep an open mind and give it a few sessions... Happy Holidays.

Dealing with anxiety for 10 years, since I was 18. Mix of meds and therapy. It gets hard sometimes. Mostly during gigs, which sucks.

I find acupuncture works really well for my anxiety. It takes a few sessions but it does work. Give it a shot.

I grew up listening to all the music you drum
Hmm I mostly started watching covers cause I play guitar, sing, and do the whole making songs thing. I don’t play drums though so I actually just stumbled into starting watching your videos because you had Green Day cover so I was like cool checked it out, and that seemed to click something in my head where I can start thinking about drums for songs I write. So I’ve really enjoyed your channel and the lessons it’s taught me on drums in like a song structure.

Also just wanna ask, do you a have work out or anything you do to maintain and get better at drumming? Cause to me The drum seems like such a physically demanding instrument.
