I don't follow seventeen, but I do know some things about them & from what I know Seventeen is a group where their opinion matters for their company. They make decisions for their music, their concept & they can freely express their self to their company. 1 example is when Seventeen just join Hybe & Seungkwan himself express his concern that when they were in the same elevator with BSH but BSH didn't interact with them, he express that concern to Pledis CEO & Pledis CEO tell that to BSH so BSH personally held a meeting with Seventeen to welcome them to Hybe & to explain why he pretended like he didn't know them (BSH said he didn't want to burden the artist that they have to greet him or be friendly with him when they meet him in elevator. He feels like he has no right to expect such things). With that alone we all can see that their opinion is heard. So with his IG post, I don't think what Seungkwan really meant is Hybe. With his level of intellect, I don't think Seungkwan post that bcz of this recent leakage issue. It's more like a cumulation of so many issues that has been thrown at Hybe & his Idols friends these past couple of months that finally reaching his breaking point. If this post is directly an issue about his dissatisfaction towards Hybe, I don't think he would go to social media but directly address it to his company management. I feel like when artist, especially Hybe artist who was known to have a say in their things (BTS & Seventeen) when they go to social media to talk about things like this, it's a direct address to media & fans who's been so loud & speculating things about their life, their decisions, their job. So, yes, I was kinda shocked at first when I see screenshot of his IG post spreading in Twitter, but when I have a chance to calm down & really think, I really don't think it's for Hybe. Those people don’t care about the message as a whole (hypocrisy at its finest) but will willingly choose to take parts of it and come up with a totally different meaning than he CLEARLY set out to say. I was thinking about what he said about the dance challenges. Recently any time a HYBE artist does a challenge with an idol from a different company, the comments section is flooded with people saying "don't get near HYBE artists" and "stay away from them." It made me think he was frustrated that people were hating on other idols and also ruining something that he genuinely enjoys. I have listened to a few of their songs, but I cried for them when I read the nasty comments by fans who did not approve of their concert play list. The guys picked this list of songs themselves (not their managers), and to demand your money back, and say you will not follow them because they did not sing a song you liked is cruel. These young men and women put their heart and soul into what they do, they give up regular lives, living in hotel rooms for long periods of time, to please their fan. I may have only been a causal listen of 17, but if they come close to my town, I will buy tickets and I will scream my lungs out for everything, because they deserve love not ridicule.

I have the same sentiment. Why push hatred on another group? Fans will be fans of a group's music. Fans buy the albums, stream their music and go to concerts,.etc. NOT the antis. More often the negative issues are NON issues at all (like hairstyles, dance moves, etc). Plagiarism is the word of the year. There are many young fans who don't even know what it means, I believe. They always shared how hard it was for them as trainees/rockies. They're hardworking even now with popularity They're still the same and fame never changed them. I listened to the translation and this is how I understood it: Be nicer to idols, stop the hate. It's not surprising that kmedia is spinning this as a criticism of HYBE, they're probably jumping up and down with glee because it's more drama. Plus, it's so vague that they can argue whatever they want. I do feel for Seungkwan because being silent is the WORST, but I'm not sure this post will be helpful. Kpop this year has been a mess and this is all Mhj’s fault. There was no reason such document needed to be released publicly because I'm also sure other companies have such a report. It's literally called a report for a reason. People are just too blinded by the hate they have of hybe and it's groups. Hybe groups are the only ones suffering in all these. Fans don’t care they just spit out hate and opinions without thinking of the responsibilities, because think about it, no matter how disgusting that report seemed, each and every comment were written by someone behind a screen who is also a fan. Boo has always been a honest person, he gives out a lot of love and feels just as much. Twisting his message to any narrative just like they did with jungkook is disgusting. Sakura also spoke up during the coachella hate train, but all she received was more hate and derogatory comments. It's not fair. Our job is to listen to music as fans, not to tell an artist or a company how to do its job. My wish is for all this to just blow over soon. Mhj has caused so much damage in fan culture. We're seeing hate patterns that existed in the days big3 fans were trying to bring down Bts and some of them in a more upgraded format. Why do you hate a company so much?? Just listen to the music you like, support the artist you love and move on with your life. Artists are people too and they are the only ones being affected in all this. The hate in the heart of people won't stop either way so it's better to be the big person and apologize.
You know what was even more disgusting is the fact that the report was leaked and manipulated to hurt a company and its artists. Those comments on HYBE's report were not from them, those were from netizens who dislike those groups that were mentioned. People were too quick to judge it as HYBE hating their own artists and others. When that report wasn't even about that specifically. It's like people forget that HYBE also has a portal website for defamation and crimes against their groups. That company's staff spent time, energy, and money to create it to help their artists. What other company does that? I've never seen SM do this, never seen YGE do this. JYPE does have resources to help their artists, but I don't think they have a place dedicated to helping with defamation or crimes like HYBE does. And I've been around Kpop since before BTS.
I just hope we all get through this year, I believe next year will be awesome for everyone who are kind and beautiful from inside. The people who are being mean will get what they deserve real soon.

This is so sad. We all know how hard idols have it, how we as fans put so many expectations on them which puts so much pressure on them. These are young men & women, they should be the best years of their lives but have to deal with living up to what the industry, public & fans want. Like I have been saying for a long time the Idols are human just like us the same way we have struggles so do them, so I have sent messages stop the rumors and the shipping it causes the idols trouble and gives into the haters. Thank you Hybe Boy for bringing clarity to some media posts, really i think they tend to spout things that are not always true but there are many gullible people who believe everything they say or print. I find that very dusturbing when nothing has been confirmed in a situation and they give hints of what THEY think could happen and make people believe that too
and that's why I think he should have either kept quiet OR stated very clearly that he is not addressing Hybe with this statement. Just as JK - if you speak up, you need to be very very clear and concise. Or it will be used by the other side. Which he should have known. And so I have more respect for those who keep quiet and not stir the pot more - because that's very very hard too.

The fans have too much power and the companies are far too controlling over their artists. It’s a shame to see all the bickering going on in the K-pop genre. I feel it’s being fuel by outside influences. There’s a lot of money being generated in Korea thus the interference of powerful entities that want a larger share of the Korean market. Netflix, Disney and Prime are all infiltrating the Korean drama industry more every year. Every time I check my phone there’s a story about a K-pop idol’s personal life. First it’s reduce Rizze to 6 members, now it’s BTS member Suga? Slow down fans and stop the madness. Try not to be a part of the international invasion of the Korean entertainment industry. Guard your Korean product and continue to own the larger portion of these money making industries. Your idols are being used to disrupt your industry. The MOST important thing however, is to protect the rights of your artists to live full lives. In the process you might keep the global phenomenon known as K-pop owned and operated by Koreans. I don't follow seventeen, but I do know some things about them & from what I know Seventeen is a group where their opinion matters for their company. They make decisions for their music, their concept & they can freely express their self to their company.
1 example is when Seventeen just join Hybe & Seungkwan himself express his concern that when they were in the same elevator with BSH but BSH didn't interact with them, he express that concern to Pledis CEO & Pledis CEO tell that to BSH so BSH personally held a meeting with Seventeen to welcome them to Hybe & to explain why he pretended like he didn't know them (BSH said he didn't want to burden the artist that they have to greet him or be friendly with him when they meet him in elevator. He feels like he has no right to expect such things).
With that alone we all can see that their opinion is heard. So with his IG post, I don't think what Seungkwan really meant is Hybe. With his level of intellect, I don't think Seungkwan post that bcz of this recent leakage issue. It's more like a cumulation of so many issues that has been thrown at Hybe & his Idols friends these past couple of months that finally reaching his breaking point. If this post is directly an issue about his dissatisfaction towards Hybe, I don't think he would go to social media but directly address it to his company management.
I feel like when artist, especially Hybe artist who was known to have a say in their things (BTS & Seventeen) when they go to social media to talk about things like this, it's a direct address to media & fans who's been so loud & speculating things about their life, their decisions, their job.
So, yes, I was kinda shocked at first when I see screenshot of his IG post spreading in Twitter, but when I have a chance to calm down & really think, I really don't think it's for Hybe. It's more to us.

People twisting his words was pretty predictable. Those people don’t care about the message as a whole (hypocrisy at its finest) but will willingly choose to take parts of it and come up with a totally different meaning than he CLEARLY set out to say. Everything he said was right. Hybe is not this big bad evil people want and believe they are. Those people also don’t ever look at the bigger picture of anything when they find one ounce of something that could conveniently support their narrative.. I’m glad hybe has taken action, owned up, and apologized. It won’t be enough for some cuz they’re just on the hate bandwagon who absolutely do not care about all idols. HYBE isn't an evil company that you may think it is. That company has been trying to help the groups that they have. The company has a website for actual fans to report defamation and crimes against their groups. What other company does this?

I read the entire letter and it seems pretty clear that he is addressing the haters. He knew it would be exploited, especially after what happened with JK's recent post, but he still wanted to touch on a lot of important points like the resilient humanity of the staff and the friendships with idols from other labels.

I am already seeing a lot of people trying to twist Seungkwan's words and meaning, into something they are not, in order to fit a completely different narrative than he was trying to discuss and put forth. I don't think Min Hee Jin's going to stop anytime soon. I feel like kpop stans have gotten much worse due to BP stans, MHJ, and NJs normalizing hate in kpop. I was thinking about what he said about the dance challenges. Recently any time a HYBE artist does a challenge with an idol from a different company, the comments section is flooded with people saying "don't get near HYBE artists" and "stay away from them." It made me think he was frustrated that people were hating on other idols and also ruining something that he genuinely enjoys. He even included the letter from NMIXX Haewon, as if to highlight that the artists are friends with each other.

yeah, dirty media will use it and twisted. he just wants unity and especially the fandoms should stop leaving hate in other artist pages. and their own groups as well, if your idol does something that you don't fully know. I been spreading this message recently.
I have listened to a few of their songs, but I cried for them when I read the nasty comments by fans who did not approve of their concert play list. The guys picked this list of songs themselves (not their managers), and to demand your money back, and say you will not follow them because they did not sing a song you liked is cruel.
These young men and women put their heart and soul into what they do, they give up regular lives, living in hotel rooms for long periods of time, to please their fan. I may have only been a causal listen of 17, but if they come close to my town, I will buy tickets and I will scream my lungs out for everything, because they deserve love not ridicule.

I have the same sentiment. Why push hatred on another group? Fans will be fans of a group's music. Fans buy the albums, stream their music and go to concerts,.etc. NOT the antis. More often the negative issues are NON issues at all (like hairstyles, dance moves, etc). Plagiarism is the word of the year. There are many young fans who don't even know what it means, I believe. They don't know how to distinguish between trends and what an actual plagiarism is.
Edit: This toxic fan culture existed even before Hybe as a company came into the picture. Fans of SM groups were notorious for this. Through fans' pressure, how many SM idol groups were forced to take out members? The same mindset is behind the removal protest/wreaths outside HYBE's bldg. It happened to LSF (during debut week) with Garam. Did you see RIze? Those so-called fans were so successful. I hope that Hybe can create a big change in KPop.

As the Kpop market contracts, the pressure, jealousy and vitriol seem to be increasing rapidly. MHJ and the National Audit are only symptoms of what appears to be a larger systematic issue. I wish all of the artists and staff peace of mind navigating the months and years ahead💜
SVT worked hardest building Pledis, they are self made. BTS also were underdogs ridiculed in the industry who built an empire from ashes. These both groups helped create the foundation of HYBE. Seventeen started from humble and unknown company called pledis. They always shared how hard it was for them as trainees/rockies. They're hardworking even now with popularity They're still the same and fame never changed them.

I read the entire letter and it seems pretty clear that he is addressing the haters. He knew it would be exploited, especially after what happened with JK's recent post, but he still wanted to touch on a lot of important points like the resilient humanity of the staff and the friendships with idols from other labels.
I listened to the translation and this is how I understood it: Be nicer to idols, stop the hate.
It's not surprising that kmedia is spinning this as a criticism of HYBE, they're probably jumping up and down with glee because it's more drama. Plus, it's so vague that they can argue whatever they want. I do feel for Seungkwan because being silent is the WORST, but I'm not sure this post will be helpful. I'm torn because I want idols to be able to speak their minds, but right now the whole kpop community is in an uproar and this will add more fuel to the fire.

Kpop this year has been a mess and this is all Mhj’s fault. There was no reason such document needed to be released publicly because I'm also sure other companies have such a report. It's literally called a report for a reason. People are just too blinded by the hate they have of hybe and it's groups. Hybe groups are the only ones suffering in all these. Boo has always been a honest person, he gives out a lot of love and feels just as much. Twisting his message to any narrative just like they did with jungkook is disgusting. Sakura also spoke up during the coachella hate train, but all she received was more hate and derogatory comments. It's not fair. Our job is to listen to music as fans, not to tell an artist or a company how to do its job. My wish is for all this to just blow over soon. Mhj has caused so much damage in fan culture. Just listen to the music you like, support the artist you love and move on with your life. Artists are people too and they are the only ones being affected in all this. You know what was even more disgusting is the fact that the report was leaked and manipulated to hurt a company and its artists. Those comments on HYBE's report were not from them, those were from netizens who dislike those groups that were mentioned. People were too quick to judge it as HYBE hating their own artists and others. When that report wasn't even about that specifically.
It's like people forget that HYBE also has a portal website for defamation and crimes against their groups. That company's staff spent time, energy, and money to create it to help their artists. What other company does that? I've never seen SM do this, never seen YGE do this. JYPE does have resources to help their artists, but I don't think they have a place dedicated to helping with defamation or crimes like HYBE does. And I've been around Kpop since before BTS.

1st: Respect to the company (Pledis/Hybe) that allows it's artists to express themselves.
2nd: Respect to Seungkwan for standing up for idols and other artists that have had to endure the hate, bullying, judgement, and mistreatment from "fans," non-fans, companies, media, politicians, etc.
3rd: As Seungkwan said, idols are not commodities. Not for the companies, nor for the fans that think they own idols because they spent a little money. Being an idol is a job; and while that job does carry certain expectations and ideals, it does not include the right to be mistreated. Nor does it include the assumption that idols are no longer fallible humans. Idols ARE human, they DO get hurt, the WILL make mistakes, and they DESERVE to live normal lives during their private time.
4th: Seungkwan has already lost one of his best friends. He has more than enough right to express his concern about the way idols are treated, regardless of where the mistreatment comes from.
5th: There was nothing ambiguous about his statement. He simply didn't name names. So if the shoe fits......
5th - if the shoe fits? everyone (even a lot of Carats) put it firmly onto Hybe's foot. So yes, his statement was very ambiguous and it is being used.

This is so sad. We all know how hard idols have it, how we as fans put so many expectations on them which puts so much pressure on them. These are young men & women, they should be the best years of their lives but have to deal with living up to what the industry, public & fans want. Like I have been saying for a long time the Idols are human just like us the same way we have struggles so do them, so I have sent messages stop the rumors and the shipping it causes the idols trouble and gives into the haters. Please treat them with respect and love the same for their companies who choose to push them to the limit, I give him 2 thumps up for opening up and sharing his feels.

Thank you Hybe Boy for bringing clarity to some media posts, really i think they tend to spout things that are not always true but there are many gullible people who believe everything they say or print. I find that very dusturbing when nothing has been confirmed in a situation and they give hints of what THEY think could happen and make people believe that too
and that's why I think he should have either kept quiet OR stated very clearly that he is not addressing Hybe with this statement.
Just as JK - if you speak up, you need to be very very clear and concise.

The fans have too much power and the companies are far too controlling over their artists. It’s a shame to see all the bickering going on in the K-pop genre. I feel it’s being fuel by outside influences. There’s a lot of money being generated in Korea thus the interference of powerful entities that want a larger share of the Korean market. Netflix, Disney and Prime are all infiltrating the Korean drama industry more every year. Every time I check my phone there’s a story about a K-pop idol’s personal life. First it’s reduce Rizze to 6 members, now it’s BTS member Suga? Slow down fans and stop the madness. Try not to be a part of the international invasion of the Korean entertainment industry. Guard your Korean product and continue to own the larger portion of these money making industries. Your idols are being used to disrupt your industry. The MOST important thing however, is to protect the rights of your artists to live full lives. In the process you might keep the global phenomenon known as K-pop owned and operated by Koreans.
