The position is an ergonomically sound one. Both feet flat on the ground, wrists straight. It isn't hip yet but it will be. Starobin is one of my favorites.
..as far as I am concerned this is art at its best...and I am so glad I chose to play the guitar. David Starobin shows us here what musicality is, and where it can reach!
A wonderful position. The guitar hangs naturally from the neck and moves with the body. WAY better than ballancing it on the thigh with some strut or pillow. He's smart enough to know, the jazz guys had this figured out a long time ago.
Is this a Sor study? Perhaps the piece is written on the program or he announced it? Starobin is one of our living greats. I've seen him several times.
Boy, does this make me want to try using a strap! The comfort level is obvious. I don't know how the older players did traditional posture for decades.

Absolutely fabulous and so moving!
When you hear this easy piece you touch, if you hadn't before what musicality is.

Op. 31 # 13
What the hell kind of position is that? And what's up with that strange cutaway? Starobin is new to me.
