Thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. I have the pair in my collection at a cost of £276, but forgot to enter in my spread sheet the shop and date of purchase. Only did the cost. I have added to both HM7000 and Hunt buckeye magnetic couplings. It was interesting to see the problems with the fans and will now examine all my new HST fan enclosures. In total I have thirty pairs of HSTs, generally in display cases.

Thanks for watching my friend. Glad you got yours at a good price. Hopefully if you do find any problems with the fans in yours it’s not too serious.

Good info on the fans. I think that rail adventure is a run custom run trains, which means you can use any type style and road name cars with it

Thanks for watching. These mainly do drags with new trains however they have done a few other moves too so realistically you can do whatever you want with them.

A very helpful video indeed and a fair summary. I got mine in March from Hornby in a sale for £240, but the power car had to go back twice - guess what the fan was not working (ok in the dummy car) and then when it was returned a NEM was broken, but on the third attempt things were ok, but one spring buffer was stuck, but at that stage I gave up, I did not want to post it back a 3rd time!

West hill wagon works have produced a kit for just that. If you go on there website you should be able to find it. I’ll try and do a video on the kit in the future when I get one.

Ive got the class 43 gwr and the east midland train versions and both had to go back to Hornby for new fan motors as they were tripping my controller, and that's on a brand new model, when we pay the money we pay shouldn't have these problems. Think that's why they've increased the price as they pay the postage costs for repairs

It’s a real shame we’re getting issues like this on brand new models. It really spoils them especially these as they are stunning. In terms of yours shorting out your controller I recon that the fan motors were drawing too much current due to the mechanism being clogged up with the rubbish lubricant.

@@fyfieldjunction I thought that, when you read the instruction sheet it s. Ays use light oil so why do they gunk it up in the 1st place.
That class 158 I told you I'd damaged and was gonna send it a mate might of fixed it for me and that was covered in a thick grease as well I noticed, why do manufactures do the opposite to what they tell us.
I am gonna sort the class 60 out to send you if that is OK, I've noticed as the coupling goes to one side it doesn't always spring back I think that's why it derails the 1st wagon

I do love the RailAdventure HST's. Need to get round to buying 2 packs. Side note DVT's are not a Class 82. the 82XXX on DVT's are non passenger coaches TOPS code

As far as I can tell these haven’t been incredibly popular, mainly due to the fact of not having a coupling on the cab ends out of the box so you can haul stuff prototypically. A kit has been done for them and when I get it I’ll do a video on it.
